Visited el gouna Sheraton this summer. Fabulous. But........... sadly the British media has killed the Egyptian tourist trade, so not many brits there. And it is a bit quiet. The marina and downtown el gouna were very quiet. But beautiful. The hotel is fantastic. Lovely layout. You have no doubt you are in an African country. It's not like being in a shiny European hotel. But it's very cool. Food is good. Staff are amazing. Room was good. But basic. Very clean. Pool areas perfect. Beaches to absolutely die for. Biggest issue was the lack of facilities for teenagers. We have 3. And there was not much for them. Outside of a pool table and ping pong that was it. However. I would recommend it. The trips available are great. Diving was the best ever. Horse riding great. And the quad biking essential

We just came back from our second stay at this wonderful hotel and it won't be the last. The rooms have a great view on the lagunes or the sea. They are just the right size and get cleaned every day. The food is great and variated. The hotel is also really close to Downtown and the Abu Tig Marina, so you can go out whenever you want. Even though the hotel was fully booked, we didn't notice because of the hotel's size. It's always nice to walk around in the resort, especially in the evening it's very nice and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpfull. We always feel very welcome. A special thanks to Mina for all our lovely dinnertimes and the great service! We are looking forward to seeing you again next year. Greetings from Belgium, Lyne and Koen

My boyfriend and I had never been to Egypt so we took a gamble when booking the Sheraton in El Gouna for a week in August. We heard mixed reviews about it so we were anxious about what to expect. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who answered any questions we had and organised room service as we had arrived late evening. We were taken to our room on a buggy and the member of staff pointed out key areas of the hotel en route. Our room was clean but dated. The room was perfectly acceptable for us but if you want luxury then you may be disappointed. We loved the free bottles of water, left by the cleaner daily and how comfortable the beds were. One day the cleaner left us a flower decoration on our bed too. We stayed in the 1000 block which was a ground floor lagoon view close to the beach, pool and main restaurant. The grounds of this hotel were undeniably beautiful and peaceful. We spent most days by the beach rather than the pool. We loved the calm lagoon and the quietness. We never had problems getting a bed and towels were easy to rent for the day. The bar staff were always friendly and nothing was too much trouble. One day we decided to eat at the beach bar but the food was swarmed in little black flies instantly so we went to the main restaurant instead for lunch. We enjoyed most of the food and the variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved the eggs or omelette cooked freshly for you during breakfast and the pasta or meat cooked for you at lunch. We highly recommend booking the oriental restaurant and the Italian by the pool but you can only eat in each once a week and they book up fast. We never bothered with the entertainment at night, instead we preferred to explore El Gouna. We moved safely around the resort and never felt anything but safe. We visited both the marina and downtown a number of times by taking a tuk tuk which cost 25 Egyptian pounds which is roughly 1 British pound. During our stay we went on a scuba diving trip with Cinderella, who are based at the hotel. It was a great day trip with amazing sights of the coral reefs. On another day, we took a trip to Luxor and the hotel kindly provided us with a breakfast box for the long journey and upon return they organised room service for us. The hotel grounds and location were both beautiful and peaceful which was exactly the holiday we wanted and got. We have recommended it to everyone we have talked to and will most definetely return (in a month that isn't as hot as August!!) One thing to note for British guests, if you give tips to staff of £1coins, they will approach you and ask for notes once they have collected some coins because they cannot change coins in the banks there.

The hotel room was very spacious and had a beautiful view. Hotel staff were also very nice and accommodating to our request when we had to check out one day earlier due to an emergency at no penalty. The kids activities were really engagibg and fun. The food was not the great but still ok. Overall, all of us had a very good time and we definitely plan to be back!

We have visited Sheraton Miramar for the sixth time in July this year. This is our favourite hotel in the whole world :-). Not only because it's beautiful, laying in gorgeous surroundings with great meals in their restaurants, but especially because of staff working in the hotel. They made that our vacations were perfect. Thank you Ehab Mandour and his staff from La Piscina Restaurant, thank you Mohamed Gad and his staff from Orient 1001 restaurant and thank you Mohamed Amer from the reception desk. We will be back again asap :-)

My family and I spent a few days at the Sheraton Miramar. We had a wonderful experience at the resort. The staff members always greeted us with smiles. The staff at the front desks were very flexible and accommodating. We had a beach-view room, which was clean and cozy. The Miramar beach (really a lagoon) was nice, but I recommend for you to bring water shoes to avoid walking barefoot on the rocks. Regarding meals, we chose to only get the breakfast-buffet deal, not the all-inclusive meal option. We only had dinner at the buffet the first night we were there. My family enjoyed the food, but I personally thought it to be just okay. During the remainder of our stay, we ended up going to the marina in the evenings for dinner as there are many restaurants and cafe options over there. The marina is located about 15-minutes away from the resort if you are walking, and about 4 minutes away via tok-tok/car. The tok-tok service in front of the resort was very convenient as we were able to go out and return as we please. We also liked that the Sheraton offers an in-house scuba-diving/snorkeling excursion. Overall, it was a great experience. My husband and I plan on returning.

We stayed here for 2 weeks last month and it was one of the best experiences we have had. The rooms are lovely, nice and big lovely bed and really clean. Food is great there is so much to choose from and plenty of it, the only thing you have to worry about is putting on weight. The Orient restaurant is one of the best in Egypt, you get to go there once a week as part of your dining package, we were all inclusive so not sure about B&B. The food the atmosphere is amazing the staff are brilliant the only thing is you can't move afterwards as the food is that good. The beaches are lovely so relaxing and staff are always friendly, no worries when we were there to get a sun bed. We are divers and the dive centre is on the beach so you just get up the morning, have your lovely breakfast and then walk to the centre, no transfers or going to the marina the boats go straight from there. Great. If you want you can walk into town or get oneof the Tuc Tucs great fun and reasonably priced. There are some good restaurants and shops in the town. Love this hotel can't recommend it enough... We are returning in September and was hoping to go back but because it is so good it is fully booked, such a shame was looking forward to another two weeks of luxury and relaxation. Hopefully wherever we manage to book will be up to the same standard as the Sheraton. Highly recommended will return someday.

one of the best hotels in gouna i love it so nice beach and staff food need more care service is good room need more care but of staff is reasonable i wish i can come back again best regards to all staff and see you soon

I have been to Sheraton Miramar on holidays with my family. We stayed for 6 days on an All-inclusive package and took a road trip from Cairo. - Location: probably the best hotel location in Gouna. The beach (lagoon not sea) is spread all along the property and forming small beautiful islands - Service: I would say "ok". Not exceptional and not too bad. I have been to other hotels in Hurghada where the service has been exemplary but not this one. It just feels that the staff does not want to go the extra mile. Few exceptions to this was the Guest Relations employee and the main restaurant Manager. Both were very courteous and accommodating to my requests - F&B: Now thats a tricky one! As an Egyptian (and a foodie that is!) food was below average. We had a conversation with the Executive Chef (Mr Ismail I believe) who was very understanding. Some of the local food variety on dinner would have been ok for a foreigner but not for an Egyptian. Examples are Molokheya, Okra, and white rice. I never had lunch but the kids had pizzas and pasta at the restaurant next to the pool. Again, not exceptional but would do the purpose. Breakfast was pretty standard and you can't go wrong with your choice of eggs! We had the option of going to the nearby Movenpick for dinner (all-inclusive packages offer that) and the food there was almost the same Pools & Beach: main pool is ideal for tanning, best location is the row right in front of the towel station. Kids pool is ok up to 3 years old otherwise it gets boring for them. There are 3 beaches: Miramar, Relaxation, and Family. Miramar beach was right in front of our rooms and is great for tanning and taking a quick dip. Its not sandy but stoney. Both of the other beaches are somehow sandy. The best part was swimming across the lagoon to the Mangrove island then into the Red Sea. One piece of advice: get beach shoes! One of the kids got himself scratched Animation Team: they were doing their best to keep everyone entertained Overall: Nice hotel, exceptional location. I would probably try it again
