I stayed for a few days and the hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes walking from the Plaza de Armas in the city center. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean (My room was 201), the staff courteous and efficient, specially the charismatic lady in the reception who is very helpful. Thanks so much.. I'll be back.
This hotel is right in the centre of the city. The inside with the open patio and green plants gives it a cosy feeling. On the roof is a terrace with a nice view which we forgot to use (stupid😐). First we got a back room with windows on the patio but we always like to have a window facing outside. After our morning nap we could change rooms. The room and bathroom are spacious enough and the walls painted in bright colours. The hotel also has its own travel office. Because of a misunderstanding we did not knew and book two tours in te city. But I recommend to use the agency in the hotel. It is the same programme for less money. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is a little bit sober, only bread butter and marmelade, but the juice is freshman while sitting. This hotel is a good choice for huaraz with a very good balance in price / quality
Hotel is great for Huaraz standards. Very good central location, hot shower, good wifi and very very nice staff. Most rooms have Inside windows but this is typical for Peru. The only thing which could be (easily) improved is breakfast.
We were suposed to have a room with a view, unfortunately there were no windows. Not even in a bathroom. Bed and pillows were hard as a rock - not ideal for resting after long days in the mountains. There were times when there was no hot water - we had to request it. Owners would still pretend that hot water is available 24/7 but we know that's not true. We spent there 5 days and everyday breakfast was the same: bread with jam and coffee. I don't mind eating jam, but 5 days in a row it's a bit too much. They should offer us something different an option to pay more and get some good meal before heading out for trekking. pros: you can make a laundry, managment is friendly cons: No windows, uncofortable beds, bad flush in the toilet, horrible breakfasts.
Very helpful. Only one downside, as with so many south American places, the doors are locked when no one is at reception. There is always someone home though, so just knock. They gave good advice and had plenty of local knowledge. One of the best pizza places is just across the road.
Laying over on our way to the Parque Nacional Huascaran, Huascaran National Park Peru. Basic room but excellent value for location and friendly staff. Great restaurant recommendation down the street - ajo picante. Good nearby markets to explore.
We stayed for a few days and had a very enjoyable time. The first room we were shown was going to be too small, but the next room was the perfect size to hold our gear. The owner helped us with a tour for one day and even looked after our laundry while we were away. Breakfast was included but a bit sparse, however there are lots of inexpensive restaurants in the area.
The owner of Galaxia will be the kindest person you'll come across in South America. She organised two tours for us, and cancelled one without any fees when I was hit with the worst kind of food poisoning from a deliciously evil pollo empanada. You can't go wrong, stay here.
I stayed in Hotel Galaxia almost a week, it is nice, clean with hot water, inexpensive. The best thing about the hotel is the very friendly staff - they really look after you there! I really enjoyed staying there. We have also booked a tour from the hotel and it was amazing! V professional and well organised, which is not as common as one would like. Definitely recommended!
Stayed here before and after a 10 backpacking trip in the Huayhuash. The rooms are inexpensive and not huge, but they have every you need (especially hot water and solid Internet, things that can be hard to come by in Huaraz). Furthermore, the proprietor, was amazingly helpful. She really knows the city and surrounding area and can arrange private and public transportation for group at market rates which is VERY helpful given the general lack of organization you'll find in the rest of the city. The also nicely let you store a few bags in a locked room while you are away on your trips - for free. All together this hotel was the primary reason our self-supported backpacking trip went so smoothly.
