On the most genuine island of French Polynesia (Huahine being the opposite of Bora Bora) the Mahana Hotel is a beautiful place where to spend your journey. The beach is ideal for snorkling (a lot of various fishes easy to see). The staff is very smiling and helpful when needed. The gastronomic Restaurant is just great. In my view, it's the best hotel in Huahine.

This is a very good hotel. It has a quiet and calm atmosphere and is very elegant. Loved the garden and room that were carefully cleaned. The staff are very kind and warmhearted. There are almost no restaurants nearby, but no problem, because restaurant in the hotel was very nice & delicious! The hotel's private beach was great and it has many fishes.I recommend "Hotel Le Mahana" as the best hotel on this island! The sacred marae ANINI is also nearby.

Didn't have the opportunity to stay at the Hotel, but stopped for drinks and ended up walking the beach and snorkeling in the beautiful waters. It is pretty isolated from "other things to do", but if you are just looking for peace, quiet, beautiful beach sand and water you would be hard pressed to find better. We didn't book well enough ahead!

This was a truly Polynesian hotel experience. If you are looking for a full service hotel with room service/spa etc. this hotel may not be for you. We stayed 3 nights with our 2 teen aged daughters and got connected bungalows 32 and 33. We were in the garden view area and not right on the water. Food was delicious, beach and water pristine, rooms comfortable and elegant. Mostly French speaking guests which was fine for us. We really got away from civilization and had a very relaxing time.

This was our first stop on our honeymoon trip, and it was as beautiful and relaxing as we’d hoped. All of the staff at Le Mahana were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The hotel (or rather, collection of bungalows) is right by the beach, offering that idyllic tropical island scenery and vibe. We stayed in one of the beachfront bungalows and had the beach just outside our deck. Going to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping was fantastic. The room was very comfortable and well appointed, and we really enjoyed the semi-outdoor shower that opened onto a small, enclosed back garden area. Huahine is one of the quieter islands, and there isn’t a lot around the hotel. They do have a rental car stand though, so we got a car one day and checked out the rest of the island. All very easily arranged at the hotel. The snorkelling from the beach of the hotel was great, and they have an excellent coral garden on the right side of their pier. The stand up paddle boards available on the beach were also well appreciated. Since there isn’t a lot nearby we ate at the hotel for most of our meals. The food in the evening was OK, but nothing incredible, which is the the only downside of Le Mahana. At lunch though, they have a en entire page in the menu for different types of Poisson Cru, the local raw fish delicacy, and these were all delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely recommend this place!

Found this place on line (of course) and it was even better than pictured. It was a great way to start our Tahiti vacation. Relax and unwind a bit from the normal hustle bustle of every day life. We had planned on eating off site more but it was just too tempting to stay at an outside table with gorgeous views and lovely service with very good food. Will go back here again someday.

Huahine is two islands connected with a bridge. Lots of lush green and beaches. Capital Fare is small - and everything that is going on there stops around noon. Only the french Super U market is open until later. The hotel is on the far end of the southern island - 35mins transfer from the airport. You have to really like the calm and staying on a beach. Perfect for me. The bungalows are clean, spacious and with all the ameneties you need. The garden ones border the street - but there is not much traffic anyway. So no crazy noise. You have free WiFi that works in the rooms, too. The bed was comfy, there is a screen above the bed to protect from the fan-air (or geckos, that might jump from the ceiling). The bathroom and the toilet are separate. You have your private little deck and a TV. Only thing: You have to put in the key to have electricity - so charging any device only works while in the room. The restaurant is really good - great food and happy hour from 5.30 to 6.30 pm. Sometimes the service seemed a little confused... not enough people - or not enough system... but then again: There is island time and island speed. You have to get used to this. The beach is nice, lots of fish to see and you can borrow kayaks and stand up paddle boards. I rented a car for half a day - and drove around both islands. Price was kind of high - but in the end, this is the end of the world and they have Europcar rentals... funny. I was lucky I speak french - english works - but not as good. Staff was really friendly and helpful - I used the laundry service - perfect! I would go there again. For sure.

Great location on a beautiful beach. If you're looking for big party, this is NOT your place. If you need a romantic get away with great rooms and great food in a beautiful location...this is your place.

It's always a problem to rate a place when it's nice but you had something stollen. I brought my old Iphone with me, (changed out the sim card). One day we rented a car and I left my valuables in the safe, except I left my phone out by accident. We gave them the benifit of the doubt, what are you going to do? but after a day searching we figured it out. We don't have that much stuff, phones don't walk away. Other than that is was a nice place but it's no Bora Bora and there were 10 yahties, parked in the bay like a bunch of motorhomes. Food was great, room was great, just watch your stuff very carefully in Paradise.

We had a beachfront bungalow which was clean, well maintained and had AC. It was peaceful, the restaurant had great food and there were SUP's, kayaks and snorkeling gear available to borrow. Ironically my daughter also loved the pool.
