Perfect location in the middle of town. We were looking for a dog friendly rental and this one was perfect. The fenced in deck so the babies can walk outside was a tremendous plus! Clean rental and loved the sounds of the creek just outside. Very peaceful plus that hammock on the deck was divine. We will be back!

The property is beautiful and definitely close to everything. I did not realize from the photos how close the neighbors were, but they didn't bother us much. The dogs across the street barked most of the night but we live in the city and were sort of used to that. The house would be ideal for a dog to come with, we didn't bring ours as she is older and has already done enough traveling this year. Will definitely consider anniversary trips back in the future- with NC fishing license again in tow as if any neighbors see you with a pole the game warden WILL APPEAR less than 5 minutes later. The spa tub was great, washer smelled mildewy which is not uncommon for the style it is but did prevent us from starting towels before we left as we were uncertain about how helpful it would actually be. Great stay, lots of memories made, hope to return with our baby next year sometime.

My little dog and I had a lovely and relaxing stay at the Blue Heron cottage! Located on a quiet street, the house is located right on Spring Creek just a short walk from town. We loved walking into town and I had a lovely time soaking in the hot tubs, but even better was just sitting in the living room with the screen doors open listening to the babbling creek and trying to spot birds and squirrels. One note just because I always look for this in reviews - I am a woman and traveled here alone and felt very safe in this location.I will be back!

This cute little cottage has a wonderful back deck overlooking the river that flows through town. Very quiet and peaceful. My wife and I wished we had more time to enjoy it. Great place for a couple getaway! We walked down to Main Street and got some pizza at a great little pizzeria before heading over to the local tavern on the water. Amazing how the people have come together to restore everything so fast since the hurricane came through town not even two years ago. We really enjoyed this place and would definitely return if we comeback through.

We found everything we needed while at the cottage. The deck overlooking the river was so relaxing that we spent most of our time outside. It was very easy to walk or drive to restaurants and shops in town. We did a couple of hikes close by and enjoyed live music at the brewery in town. It was a very nice stop to unwind and relax on our road trip. Thanks for sharing your town with us!

This cottage was so beautiful we had a hard time leaving to see the sights. It’s perfectly furnished. It overlooks a bend in Spring Creek which I could look at for hours. Our Cockapoo loved the fenced in deck where she could view all the nature safely contained. It’s right in town and fully equipped. We walked by it for years while we were camping, and now we had the joy of experiencing it.

Wedding Guest Stay

The property is dated and old. It definitely has the old house smell and needs to be thoroughly deep cleaned and exterminated.- the a/c was a HUGE problem. there is no central air which is not specified in the listing. there is an a/c wall mounted unit in the living room. that is the only one to cool the entire home. there is no a/c unit in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. the living room unit does not cool the house. It was muggy and hot most of the time. we came for july fourth weekend where it was in the 80s and 90s daily. I would not have picked this home if i knew there was not any real a/c. we are from texas so we are used to heat but not without a/c!- There is a bug problem - spiders, cobwebs, other bugs in the house. It is a natural area so I understand bugs get in, but if there are cobwebs around the house that is a problem.- We sat in the backyard, but there are cobwebs off the gutters & black under the soffits. all needs cleaning.- comforter in bedroom was gross with hair on it and it needs washing- Bathroom had big problems - cobwebs/spiders/bugs, mirror old & needs replacement, towels that are provided are old and smell like mold (we even washed some of the towels and could not get the smell out. time to be thrown away and get a fresh set), the shower curtains need to be replaced as there is pink/black mildew on it, the tiles in the shower need to be scrubbed as there is pink/black mold on it, just overall updating would be nice.

Adorable and Walkable

I would absolutely stay here again. Perfect getaway for my spouse and I while we were in town for a wedding. I loved that restaurants/stores/brewery were all a short walk away. The sound of the creek behind the house was also so relaxing.

Hot Springs Hideaway

Blue Heron cottage was perfect for our weekend in Hot Springs. Everything in Hot Springs was in walking distance. We were able to access the restaurants in downtown with ease. We enjoyed a soak at the Hot Springs resort and several opportunities to hike local trails. We want to wish all our best to the citizens of HS as they continue their recovery from Hurrican Helene.

Smoke Alarm Problem

Accommodations were fine. However, the problem with the smoke alarm was very disruptive, and cause us to lose a nights sleep. As I stated, the alarm began chirping around 1:00 am. It continued to chirp at 15 minute intervals until the owner arrived around 9:00 am. Needless to say, we were extremely tired. This affected our activities for the rest of the day. We believe that we should receive a rebate for a portion of our rental payment.

Well appointed, superb location in quiet neighborhood

Easy check-in. Hosts were very comunicative before arrival. Kitchen and bath stocked with everything you could need to cook, play, and rest. Steps from town yet tucked away. Back deck along the creek was peaceful. The pictures don't the cottage justice. Third visit to the area and by far the best accommodation to date. Will be looking to come back to the area and plan to stay here again. Thank you!
