I was extremely happy with this hotel! It is located one street away from the bay area which has a great view towards the central area with the famous picturesque houses. It's about 10 minutes walk from all the central areas you want to go to, like the fish market. The hotel itself was being redecorated in the main hall area during my time there, however the construction did not bother me in any way (like noise). Breakfast had a great variety of food choices, but it was held in a replacement hall (since the main was being redecorated) and therefore was a bit crowded. The room was basic, comfortable but a bit cold during the night. I could not regulate the temperature. The staff was very friendly and helpful and would give them a big plus. Would definetly recommend this hotel!

What's good: -Very conveniently located //Within walking distance from city center boats. -Excellent breakfast buffet with cereals, several hot entree choices, large salad/fruit selections. Food was fresh, well-prepared. -Beautiful well-lit lobby w/gathering area. What's not so great: -Rooms are compact (common for Scandinavian hotels). Bathroom area is about an arms length from edge of the bed & separated by an etched glass door. This doesn't leave much privacy. -Bed mattress appears to be a thinner mattress over a covered spring mattress. Average comfort. Only covering is an enclosed thick duvet (we've also found this common)---way too hot for summer. Suggest asking for an extra sheet when you check in. -Hotel rooms could use updating & fixing regular wear & tear. Average on the "clean" scale. Other comment: -Be aware most hotels don't have air conditioning. Windows open, a good thing. This hotel is near city center & docks, so you'll have more noise than usual. -Americans used to washcloths should throw one in their bag. Not supplied in any Norwegian hotel we've visited.

Only two blocks from the fish market, but larger rooms and lower price. Fantastic breakfast. Nice staff. Our only problem was the first night the room was extremely warm because of the weather & sun hitting it. No a/c (understandable in Norway), but no ceiling fans or even protable fans available.

I have no complaints about this hotel, but it did not leave me the "I've got to come back again" feeling. You really couldn't ask for a better location. Close to the city center and harbor. The staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The rooms were a pretty good "average", but certainly comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast that was included in the price. It was very close to the fish market and some good seafood restaurants. I will admit, that after four days I had a craving for steak.

Had the family room. (Was a leaking faucet in the bathroom, however this did not bother us that much). The breakfast was really good. Best creamed scrambled eggs I have tried in my life. Just a few minutes walk, and you are where you need to be in Bergen ;) And somehing important: The beds vas AMAZING.... The mattress was soft, and good. Slept like a baby.

Litle old fashion room standard but worth It,s price.. Friendly staff and good breakfast. The best with this hotel is the central location, close to city center with restaurant, tourist attraktions and shopping as well as the Ferry terminals.

A convenient hotel with a central location. Close to the fish market and everything else in Bergen. Breakfast was variated and fine. We also got a discount on the parking in a parkinghouse close by the hotel.

Had a flying visit here recently and was quite comfortable. There isn't really much going on in the lobby area and no sign of any lounge bar. I didn't try the restaurant as I fancied a different type of menu, but it looked pretty good. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Special thanks has to go to Johanna on Reception who was ultra efficient in checking me in (to a lovely room) and giving me local information and advice. Really handy position for the waterfront and the town centre, theatre etc.

In a very bad way the two young ladies at the reception said that they could not do anything that paid for an improvement and that the next day (today) their boss would solve the request. No one called me or gave me explanations. The room does not have hair dryer. I had to complain. They also did not the cleaning and I had to complain. There was no "do not disturb" sign and the maid pounded at 8:40 A.M. Everything is very bad attention and nobody apologizesYour servant, one of those who attended to me the first time, in an unfriendly way she started looking for my mail, doubting that I had sent it. I showed it on my phone and then she told me why I did not translate it. It really made me angry that besides not answering my complaints, she requested this translation. That should be who gets the claim, not me. I am doing it, wasting my vacation time just to have the misfortune of this hotel corrected. Although it already seems a miracle if someone even responds.

It was a super hotel in the middle of Bergen. Lots of things to do nearby. Plenty of restaurants. Aquarium, Bryggen, Fløibanen, Ulriken. Torgallmeningen. The weather was also on our side. We will stay at this hotel another time.
