Very well kept property steps to the beach and minutes to town via a short bike or car ride. Attentive and very responsive staff who consistently made it their priority to ensure our stay was pleasant each day. Can't wait to return.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay, right next to the beach with all kinds of things to do within bike riding distance.

My husband and I stayed here in celebration of our 11 year wedding anniversary, and were quite pleased. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was large and had an incredible view of the ocean. The restaurant on the property was cute and offered a variety of meal options, including traditional Belizean food, which we enjoyed. We appreciated that the pools were open 24/7.

Excellent customer service and very cleanly maintained rooms, pool and beautiful beach. Rum shack resturant has good food.

Nice location on the beach. Everything on the property shuts down at 8pm and I mean everything. They do not believe in night life what so ever. Friday and Saturday 11pm is the max you will find anyone to include food. Cleaning staff was great. They will try not to change your sheets while your there. Small growing town. The locals are extremely hospitable. Neutral on a second visit. Travel the island 6 days at one location was to many. Make sure you get a Pina Colada and thank me!

Great place! Beachfront rooms! The only down side was tax. You get 10% service fee plus 12.5% GST on everything.

Had a wonderful time and experience! The resort had everything and close walk for all to explore

The hotel is excellent but you need to know: 1. the streets to get there are not paved ( from the highway).2 You can not find vegetables easily in this area of the country. 3. there are mosquitos ( a lot) go on dry season to decrease it. the only one thing I hoped for the hotel to do better is to inform of the " happenings " around the area. There was one costly mistake in the information given to us by their book. It said that we had to pay $40 USD per person as a exit tax. well, we had it and it was covered in our tickets. We ended up with too much BDZ and had to exchanged them back in Chicago loosing a bit of money.

Great setup. Short walk to the village. Nice beach and beauti f ultimate grounds

We spent 10 days in Belize, with stops at different regions of the country. Our stay in Hopkins Bay was our beach destination for three nights, and it was the highlight of our trip. We had a two bedroom, two bath house all to ourselves with a gorgeous beach view. The beach itself is nice and clean, with shallow water that you can wade out more than 50 yards before it gets chest-deep. The drive to the property is a bit rustic, but once you enter the property, it is all top shelf. The quality of the rooms was excellent, modern and updated. We had a full kitchen, dining area, living area, and the two bedrooms with king beds. Only complaint is the second bedroom didn't have a TV, but we managed without it just fine (there was a TV in the living area and master bedroom). The restaurant on-site served limited selections that were all fantastic. It's not a huge menu (and honestly, they need to print more of them as they always seemed to be low on menus!) but every meal we ate there was excellent. We had our two sons with us (ages 12 and 14) and both found something they truly enjoyed on the menu. There are nearby restaurant options in Hopkins, too, that are equally as good, so you can take a quick bike ride or drive for more food options. The staff were all courteous, friendly, and helpful. There are not a lot of things to do in Hopkins village, but driving to Placencia is a quick, easy drive and the Resort offers several excursions to meet your adventurous needs. Wifi in each villa was excellent comparatively to other regions of Belize, and having a wifi router dedicated to each villa helps too... We would definitely come back to Hopkins Bay Resort, and highly recommend it for couples or families.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay overall. The hired staff was super friendly and the grounds were beautiful and the room was very spacious. However for the price we paid, I would say it was a poor value. Though we had a partial ocean view the room was described as ocean front at booking. We were in the back end of the loop of buildings. The bottled water was not replaced each day and one replaced bottle had an insect in it. There was missing hardware in the bathroom however the hanging brackets were still in place. There were unpatched holes in the wall. The safe didn't have directions on how to reset the code and we ended up locking our stuff in the safe with no code. Another night the battery cover fell off inside the safe. On both occasions the owner came to unlock the safe and seemed agitated by having to help us. It had a great location in Hopkins but not much to do in Hopkins and the construction on Hopkins Rd was a pain. We enjoyed our 4 nights in San Pedro more and loved our day trip to Placencia. For $200+/night they just need to improve on the little things.

Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. If we asked for something, it was brought to us in less than five minutes. The villas were nice. Ocean view from every room. The town of Hopkins was not as we expected...we were on the north side....go to the south side by the Sittee Marina and there are a few restuarants/hotels. Of course the weather was great...it was windy however, every day.

This hotel is located primarily by itself on the opposite end away from himanassi and jaguar reef. This makes it secluded and quiet but still a 10 minute drive to reach the more commercialized areas. Many many potholes and crater sized holes dot the unpaved road towards Hopkins bay belize. There is also a small cemetery located near the hotel. Driving can be hazardous between the stray dogs, people walking by and trying to avoid the huge craters in the roadway. Rent a 4wd SUV. That being said, the hotel is beautiful and the staff very kind and caring. We had a second floor room with elevated ceiling and outdoor balcony. This rooms are fantastic compared to jaguar reef. The bar and restaurant serves amazing food (conch fritters!) and the bartender makes great drinks as well. I would most likely stay at this hotel again in the future.

beautiful views from room road are terrible and no direction as to how to get their

My husband and I booked this trip one day before we left we just needed a quick getaway. The hotel is approx 2 1/2 hours from the airport, be prepared to rent a car ($500 wk) or plan ahead for hotel transportation ($275 each way) it's fairly easy to drive in Belize but there are very little road signs. The hotel is surrounded by poverty, the area has not been Americanized and its unsure if the village people are accepting of our existence. The hotel is in fairly good shape nothing to knock your socks off but you have an ocean view, although the ocean is dirty in front of the resort due to a river being dumped into the ocean close by. The 1 reason I will probably never go back to Hopkins Bay is Sand Fleas these pesky little things are beyond disgusting and it seems the entire island is infested with them when you have to check the toilet seat for sand fleas the vacation becomes less desirable, the hotel rooms are also infested I found the little fleas in the bed a couple times, the bathroom the entire trip and if you want to stare at the floor long enough it will start moving. My husband didn't really mind the fleas and has already talked about going back, the rolling hills of rain forest, the Mayan ruins, cave tubbing, zip lining and other adventures are worth the experience.
