In summer, Hopfgarten offers excellent hiking and cycling in the surrounding mountains, while the winter months are ideal for skiing in the nearby SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area: one of Austria's largest ski areas. The village has a traditional atmosphere with historic buildings and charming farmhouses
