Its the second time we've stayed at the hotel, when attending a concert next door at the Picturedrome. The hotel is really nice, with both bar and restaurant facilities. The rooms are a little small, but are clean and comfortable. The main positive for the hotel is the staff. They are excellent. On our first night, in atrocious weather. Our room sprung a leak at about 7a.m. Ten minutes later we were allocated another room with no hassle. The bar.is good with a nice selection of beers and wine. Its a busy spot especially at weekends, but again the staff are great. The restaurant is really good. The breakfast is lovely, can fully recommend the eggs Royale. We had an early evening meal prior to the concert and it was very good. My steak was cooked perfectly. The two young ladies working the restaurant were busy but very good at their jobs...thank you. The outdoor area of the hotel is a little noisy, but thats down to the attraction of Holmfirth for its bars and music venues. If you're part of that crowd then the hotel is ideal for a stay. We'll certainly be back...thank you.😁

We arrived at 1pm having checked in on line. We couldn't get in our room till 3pm so went round holmfirth. When we went back at 4pm our room had been given to someone else. We were offered a twin room in the heavens but we had paid for a double so we werent happy. We were then offered another double which smelled of damp and the carpet was wet so we refused that as my wife suffers with asthma. After trying to find us alternative accommodation at another hotel, which were all full, we came to a compensation agreement and stayed in the twin room. Heidi was excellent in trying to sort the problem and very apologetic, we enjoyed a great stay and the unfortunate experience didnt spoil ourstay.

Quality little hotel. Cracking full English

Stayed here on numerous occasions. Rooms clean and welcoming. Breakfast is second to none. Only gripe was due to significant drop in temperature on the day the room was a tad chilly and the radiators didn't work. Suspect it would have been the first time they would have been needed for a few months so understandable that they were not all firing.

Generally the bedrooms need to be updated as they are looking in need of renovation. They were comfortable though. Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was fine though more selection for a continental breakfast would be useful

Not too bad. However upon arrival we were told that we couldn’t park in the hotel car park due to the food festival being on that weekend, we should have been advised of this at the time of booking and we wasn’t.

Lovely Holmfirth hotel

Lovely stay at this hotel, we ate in the restaurant at night and had a lovely meal, nice restaurant and bar area, we had breakfast included lovely choice , we went for full english, nice quality and nice and hot( my pet hate is luke warm food) plenty outside seating, our room was a superior double with balcony, nice room and bathroom. Would definitely stay again

The inn is situated in the heart of Holmfirth. The are very friendly and helpful.we had a small double which was ok for us, but if you are a large person it may be a bit tight and this goes for the shower cubicle also. The in the inn is very good. A good choice for breakfast. We will be coming back.

Constructive criticism.

Evening meal was tasteless and underwhelming, absolutely no seasoning in the burger mince...I asked for "No ice" in my Gin and the server wrote it down and it came "with ice"...general ambience not good...the manager, bartender and server stand round most of the time in the restaurant area chatting....the room was average, tired and dated aswell as hot as an oven so sleeping was difficult if not impossible. The shower curtain was stained and needed changing and the toilet brush and holder are a health hazard...every door in the hotel needs cleaning as the build up of grease from peoples hands on them is awful. Housekeeping is sloppy, in the morning clean sheets for the room changeovers should not be left hanging on bannisters outside rooms if they fall off onto the floor they are then a trip hazard. Breakfast server was miserable and unenthusiastic and offering tea/coffee seemed to be an afterthought. Breakfast was ok. All the staff seem to have fallen into a "can't be bothered" rut, which isnt good.
