Welcome to paradise by the beach! An opportunity like this doesn't come around often, as this home is located west of Gulf Drive and steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. The secluded location is away from the traffic noise and just steps to a private beach, so you will have your own sense of peace and quiet away from it all. The newly remodeled kitchen is absolutely adorable with bright accents and modern appliances, and a brand new Roman-style pool and spa await out back. The first floor features a separate bedroom and bath that would be ideal for elderly family members or teenagers who want a little separation from the adults upstairs. This beach shack is situated on an extra-large lot and has been owned by the same family for generations with much love. Relax on the front porch for morning coffee with Gulf breezes and then gather around the firepit in the evenings.

Close to beach. In need of a lot of updates and cleaning.

Our stay was from August 10-17th. The location was perfect. It is a very short walk to the beach. The pool was wonderful. To no one’s fault, the trees constantly dropped leaves into the pool. There were many things that have out lived it’s days and need to be thrown away. The sofa, chair and rugs are soiled with food and stained.and need to be replaced. We had to purchase cleaning supplies the day we arrived. To say the very least this rental has been neglected with basic cleaning. A few days after check in we communicated our concerns with the management company who were eager to help resolve issues. At this point in time we felt obligated to notify management for future renters. They were professional to deal with and offered to send someone out to clean. We refused the offer because we were settled in and had already cleaned what was needed to be more comfortable. They did refunded our cleaning fee which we are very appreciative of. We would have rather arrived to a clean rental. This rental could be on its way to a great stay but needs a substantial amount of cleaning and the broken and worn out items need replaced.

Nice house, horrible management company

This is a great house and worked well for our family of 5 with teenagers, but because of the rental management company’s inability to remedy issues in a timely fashion and poor communication overall I can only rate this house a 3. Pros - clean, comfortable home, great large outdoor area with heated pool, hot tub and sports/pickleball court (not pictured in images), garage contains some pool floats, chairs, wagon. 2 minute walk to the beach. Cons - There is no welcome book or instructions on how to use anything. We had surprise visitors several times during the week (Vacasa maintenance man came on Saturday night unannounced, pool company came out twice to clean, landscapers showed up with leaf blowers while we were enjoying the pool, cit inspector. Hot tub heat controls don’t really seem to work. It was warm at best most of the time. There are no pantry staples at all - not even salt/pepper/oil. The kitchen utensils, plates, cups, pots pans are worn and random - looks like someone cleaned out the things they didn’t want at their house. Vacasa provides a very limited amount of necessities - 2 garbage bags and not enough hand soap for the bathrooms. There are no tissues. For the amount of money we spent to rent this house, I would expect that there would be more basics included. The construction of townhomes right next door is still going on (roofing, deck building, not peaceful) Vacasa management company is horrible to work with - downstairs shower was broken all week.

Adorable home steps to the beach.

We had a great stay with our family, short walk to the beach and beautiful pool. The construction next door was a little annoying, still managed to enjoy our time. We would stay again, great location!

Beautiful home, yard and location but cannot give more than 3 stars.

The main floor of the house was very nice and well equipped. The location was great as we had wonderful privacy and just a short walk to the beach without crossing a major road. The screen porch was comfortable; the pool and landscaping were brand new and impressive. The problems began with checking into the property. There was a door alarm on both exterior doors that we were not warned about. It was not a security alarm to prevent break-ins. When we arrived, every time we walked in that door, left it open or walked out this piercing alarm would start. We are guessing they were alarms to warn parents when their children walk through the door. This may be because of the pool area which did not have a lock. Or it may because the lower level is completely separate from the upper level. One cannot use an interior staircase to access the two floors. The stairs is completely outside the two porches. This would not be a good arrangement for parents with young children and it should be pointed out in the description. We did not notice this when we first booked the place. We did contact Vacasa about the alarms but we had to go through a customer service center. Eventually an employee from the local Vacasa came out and she was very helpful. The batteries had to be removed from the alarms to turn them off. The second issue was that there were no instructions for the home anywhere. This was a recently updated home but we struggled with figuring everything out. There were 5 new tvs. But no instructions for accessing cable or any streaming service. There was a new refrigerator but the ice maker did not work. We never knew whether it was broken or not hooked up. There were no written instructions for the pool and hot tub. These issues went on and on, We reported it to Vacasa but never heard back. But the worst experience came Monday morning when construction workers arrived and began drilling huge holes into the ground of the property right next door. New housing is going up and there will be construction noise for quite awhile. It was impossible to sit on the screen porches or enjoy the pool in the backyard. This would have ruined our complete trip but the construction methods did change. There were still construction noises but not quite as loud as the drilling. Lastly, we would point out that the lower level has issues and the shower down there does not work well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we paid a lot of money to endure these hassles.

Home not what is described but great proximity to beach

Overall, we had an ok experience at this house but we would not rent it again as it was way overpriced for what we got. We will not rent anything from Vacasa again given misled we were about this home. I've listed the positives and negatives below. Negatives -- The house is not as described. The listing says the ground floor has the third bedroom and bath and that it is great for seniors who may not be able to walk upstairs. Nowhere does it say this ground floor level is a completely separate outside entrance. If you have kids and are hoping for a 3 bedroom house, this is definitely not the place to stay. -- This ground level bedroom and bath is really a bedroom built out of the garage and is literally built of painted cement block walls. There is no air circulation in the room so it gets really hot at night. -- This ground level bedroom also smells really musty. We kept the door open during the day when we were at the house to let some fresh air in. There is no way to open the windows. -- The dishwasher is broken. We received a call from Vacasa, the property management company, on Saturday 3/12 when we checked in. The caller told us they discovered the dishwasher was broken when the cleaning crew came to the house that day and that they would send a repairman out on Monday to fix. I called on Tuesday to get a status update and they said they would need to order a part for it, although I didn't know how they knew that given no one had come by the house yet. On Friday, a repairman cam to the house, looked at the dishwasher and told us it had been broken for at least a month and he didn't know what would be done to fix it. -- There is a new home construction going on right next door to this house, so by 7 a.m. each day the loud construction noise made it really difficult to enjoy our stay there. I wish we would have known about the construction and noise. -- The closets in the two upstairs aren't really closets. They are construction 2x4's behind the finished walls. Positives -- This house is so perfectly located close to Holmes Beach and is truly steps away. It is a located on a private street with very little traffic and direct beach access/walkway. -- The house is a cute beachy cottage feel and the upstairs is very nicely arranged. -- There is a screened porch directly off the family room where we spent a lot of time, as well. -- The back yard, pool and hot tub were the highlights of the home.
