Nice Stay

We enjoyed our trip. The cottage was a cute little place but could use some more cleaning. It was pretty centrally located for Holland attractions. It is 25 mins to the Holland state park. I would not recommend for very young children. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and the landing is open at the top step. Overall it was a fine place to stay.

Great location- could use a lot of improvements

I wouldn’t recommend this place for traveling with young kids. The bedroom with the two twin beds has a very unsafe area outside of the room. The gate helped but made me feel uneasy and one of the kids could have easily fell down the stairs, as there really is no space between the stairwell and the room. There was also a dramatic temperature difference between the first floor vs the second floor. It wasn’t as clean as we expected considering the price. The view from the master bedroom was spectacular and the area was absolutely beautiful. I recommend this place for a couple or maybe two couples.

Wonderful weekend!

Thank you Tram! Your property was so comfy and accommodating. We cooked more than a few times in the kitchen. And we had everything we needed to cook each meal. Thanks for that! Beds were comfy. Even the pull out was comfy. Great water pressure!!! The location was fantastic! If anyones stays here on a Saturday in the spring/summer, def check out the Holland Farmers Market and downtown. We also had a beach day. The dunes are beautiful! And we played board games and RPGs most of the rest of the time. The dining room comfortably sat all 6 of us with room for games and food. Lastly, the house was super comfy for naps. :). Thanks!!

For the Price, thought it would be nicer and ceaner

Things we did not like: 1). kitchen cupboards doors not so clean, had dirt and grim on them so we cleaned the cupboard doors and the stove top was not clean either. We personally did not like all the "used" condiments in the refrigerator. 2). trim throughout house was dusty and dirty and the dining room light fixture was very dusty 3). carpet in living room and dining room look old but seem clean 4) bathroom window does not seal, left light on at night and in the morning there were at least 50 tiny flying bugs in the shower 5) stairs in this old house are very steep and narrow treads, I fell down them one night and badly bruised my tailbone 6). view of Lake Macatawa was only accessible from the upstairs front bedroom, kind of.... we stayed in late spring 7). Front porch smells musty so when we opened the windows to take advantage of the cooler air, all we could smell was the musty front porch 8). the mattresses were not comfortable for older parents, they were cheaper mattresses with what seemed like a mattress topper on it. Our backs were aching the whole time we were there. Our kids could handle it but we could not. Other than the items listed above, the house was clean and orderly. We have stayed at houses in California that are the same price and in much better condition only a block from the ocean. This house was not worth the price. Wish the property would use the money we paid for our dog staying with us to clean the house better. Things we did like: 1) having a code to lock and unlock the front door. 2) location was close enough to downtown and other things 3) safer area 4) cable and TV

Family Getaway

Perfect spot to gather together with our family (including our nearby college students) for a few meals, board games and movies! The rain put a damper on our backyard s'mores plans but the firepit setup was perfect - maybe next time! We loved walking the neighborhood each morning, too! So peaceful!

Pandemic Paradise

We booked this property a few months in advance hoping that the Covid-19 pandemic would have calmed down by the time we got there for Thanksgiving. Tram was a great host and messaged us a few days before asking if we would need a roasting pan for Thanksgiving and was able to leave it in the kitchen for our stay. The state of Michigan had closed all indoor dining 3 days before we got there and Tram was able to give us some suggestions of local restaurants that would be offering takeout or had their patios open for dining. The house was a good size for me and my wife but the family room would have been a bit tight trying to watch a movie with more than just us. The kitchen was stocked with some basics (herbs/spices/flour/sugar/rice/pasta) which was a nice surprise and we were able to cook Thanksgiving dinner without running out of space or dishes. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well the whole week we were there. We would have loved to have used the firepit in the big backyard but the weather didn't really cooperate. Overall this property was awesome and with the nice touches and additions put in by the host we would certainly stay again.

Nice home near Lake Macatawa

We wanted to spend a long weekend near the beach in Michigan with our family of 5. This home is compact and has everything that you’d need for a weekend. It is located within about 20 minutes of several area beaches which is convenient. The sidewalk path in front of the home makes for a nice morning or evening walk to view all of the gorgeous properties along the lake as well as the lake itself. We cooked in some since it can be a pain to eat out with two small children during a pandemic and we were able to find everything we needed to prepare our meals. We also took advantage of the fire pit out back for roasting marshmallows. The seating area in the living room is a bit tight for relaxing with three adults in the evening, but if you dont plan to be at the house much in the evening it wouldn’t be a problem.
