Beautiful property!!! Very modern and uptodate. Free breakfast is a great adddition. We arrived late and had no problem getting in after we called ahead.
Hotel Jokull was a nice surprise after staying in a much less nice hotel the previous night. The property looks brand new (although I heard the desk staff tell someone it used to be a school), and has a clean Scandinavian look (think Ikea). The room was huge-a separate bedroom with double bed and the living room area with 2 twins and a desk. Staff was particularly nice and helpful. They had a map of Hofn at the desk with color codes for all the highlights (we went to the public pool in the afternoon). Hotel is located 5 or 10 Km East of Hofn which may not be convenient for going to dinner but worked for us as we had an early excursion in that direction in the morning. We did not eat at the restaurant but would have been happy to stay longer.
It was very good experience staying at this hotel. We checked in around 8:00 PM and enjoy the dinner there. The morning breakfast was very good. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone for visiting east part of the Iceland.
