This was an unexpected treat. We booked the Jr. Suite, and it had windows on two sides with views to die for, and a balcony, big soaking tub, and walk in shower. Loved it. Not all Foss Hotels are as fab, so make sure you research, but this one is fantastic. Good breakfast in the morning too.

Stayed in one of the largest suites, which at first seemed very nice. However, on closer inspection, we were disappointed to find huge amounts of dust accumulated everywhere. In addition, some of the draperies were torn and pulled away from their track. Moreover, we stayed in July when the sun never sets, and unlike most hotels, this one does not have black-out curtains at the windows. Therefore, it was too bright in the room to sleep well. For the HUGE price, we expected much more from this luxury accommodation. Needless to say, we were disappointed in the room. Otherwise, the hotel how great views, a nice breakfast, and is conveniently located a short distance out of town.

Hotel is fine. It is out of town and not near anything but does have a great view.

After a long day's drive to Hofn, the Fosshotel was a sight for sore eyes, and backs, and legs. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at ease immediately. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and it was one of the best we had in Iceland. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a nice place to relax and take a deep breath.

Nice view and nice view. Best spot for viewing northern lights. I will come back again.

a bit far (12 km) from Hofn. Nice room, very clean

Our original plan was to book a place at Hofn, but we ended up booking at the Fosshotel. It was a lovely stay - close to town and also to other attractions in the area. The view from the hotel is lovely, the staff was nice and rooms very comfy and clean. Enjoyed it!

we stayed at the fosshotel on Hofn during our trip around the ring road this past end of september. We loved our stay, the staff was very friendly, room was very comfortable and clean, couldn't have asked for anything better. we were able to rest, have a delicious breakfast from the buffet in the morning and continue our journey around this beautiful country.

Quiet hotel near glaciers. Room small but comfortable.

Very nice, clean, modern, good food, great view from lobby and restaurant.

The Fosshotel Vatnajokull is a very nice hotel in a very scenic area near Hofn. It's about 7 miles northwest of Hofn on the ring road. We arrived at 8 PM, about an hour after we Jokullsarlon. We checked in and the process was quick and painless (seemed to be standard with all our Iceland hotels BTW). We brought our stuff up to our room and immediately went to the dining area to see if they would seat us for dinner because we were too tired to drive the rest of the way to Hofn for dinner as we originally planned. Dinner was very good as we had the fish trio for starters, lamb and salted cod for mains. They had a beer that was made with glacier water that was very good too. Our room was spacious enough for our purposes. The bathrooms didn't have washcloths though so bring your own. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and had lots of options including a waffle maker. The view of the mountains in the daytime was also very nice. Parking and wifi were free. We would stay again.

The location of the hotel is within driving distance of lots of interesting stuff, although the hotel is not directly adjacent to anything. It is a good central location from which you can drive an hour in either direction to find some good hiking (Skaftafell) or food (Hofn). The view is good, and the view of the northern lights would probably have been great (it was cloudy during my time there). But the best part was the staff, who were incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring the southeastern region of Iceland.
