Travelodge is a good clean hotel. Just a few gripes though 1. Can't open sliding door onto balcony. This is permanently locked. 2. Can't open any windows 3. Bathroom and whole hotel Room gets very steamy and wet as exhaust is hopeless. We had to wedge open the hotel room door to get some fresh air in as it's so steamy after even a short shower. 4. No clean bedsheets after I had purposefully taken off the old ones. They just used the old bedsheets.how do I know? I spilled food on the sheets, that's why I stripped the bed. But unfortunately the chicken stained sheets were just put back on. Positives 1. Friendly staff 2. Great location 3. Free popcorn
location is great, almost self sustainable room, great with the eco friendliness on change of towels and option for non daily housekeeping. just that rooms facing the traffic gets a bit noisy in the early morning.
I stayed for a couple of nights (at last minute). The room I stayed in was tiny and badly laid out - I landed up sleeping with my suitcase on the other side of the bed - as there was no where else to put it. In hindsight I should have paid the extra $20 per night for a slightly bigger room. From memory Internet was very slow. The place was clean, quiet, fairly central with typical refreshing Travelodge colors. In fairness, this was their cheapest room.
Very friendly and quick customer service, nothing too much trouble. Rooms are clean and tidy. Hotel is within walking distance of the city. parking was available in the hotel at a reasonable rate and lots of room to park
We stayed here July 5-14. Staff is friendly and the room was clean. It is within walking distance to Salamanca Place, downtown and the harbor. There was a hair dryer, coffee and tea. And, cream in the fridge. There are a couple things you should know but these things would not stop us from coming back. 1. We had an executive room, which was a corner room, so we had 2 big windows. Yay, 2. The desk clock was so bright, we just unplugged it 3. The complimentary wifi is SUPER slow. Doing work on that wifi was not the best 4. There wasn't much of a dresser or drawers to put your clothes. There were 2 nightstands only. And the closet only had 4 hangers. 5. We were on the 4th floor. At night you could hear a few cars but it wasn't enough for us to have to move to another room. I imagine if you were on lower floors it could be a bit bothersome, 6. Our first 30 minutes in our room, there was a fire alarm. We went down the stairs to the outside and a contractor had cut a wire. Waited for the fire brigade before we could go back. Exciting. It was our first fire drill in a hotel. No one told us to evacuate but when we saw that the staff left all the towels auld nd supplies in the hallway, we decided we should probably leave. 7. Our 2nd day, we left for the day and when we got back, we had no electricity, The staff said a fuse blew so they fixed it. 8. 3rd night, we had no bath mat so we called the staff. They said it would be 10 minutes, but it never arrived. 9. 4th night, the fridge was open. Glad there were no perishables. 10. The car park is very small and narrow. Quite exciting when you're getting used to driving on the wrong side of the road. We got a parking space every day we were there but it was close. I would definitely recommend this hotel due to location. We had a couple hiccups but it was not serious enough to complain.
Rooms were clean, staff were lively and friendly. Had adjoining rooms and all was good. It was a good base for our travels around hobart sight seeing and showing the kids things. Would highly recommend
I stayed at the Travelodge March of 2017 and left a review on Trip Advisor. There were a few aspects I was not happy with (despite the great location etc) and at that time, the manager Mr Shirish Agrawal responded fully to my concerns. I saw this as 'polite and thoughtful' but a 'typical managerial response'. Another social event saw me return to Hobart last weekend, July 15th-17th. This time, rather than book online I phoned the Travelodge directly to ensure there was not a repeat of my earlier issues. Both Vanessa and Lauren went out of their way to clarify and book exactly what I required. On checking in, I found management had gone above and beyond to to provide an incredible 'return to Travelodge' experience. I am incredibly impressed at the sincere efforts of the management and staff shown by this welcome. As I said in my March review, the breakfasts and central location cannot be compared. This recent example of 5-star hospitality is what made my visit so memorable. Definitely my preferred Hobart accommodation for all future travel needs. Many thanks!
Overall a good experience. Better/any signage to show where to drive for check-in. Soundproofing of adjoining rooms could be improved. Staff were friendly and had a smile, but don't assume that guests are familiar with all aspects of the hotel.
Good location. Bathrooms are tiny - couldn't swing a cat. Average. Get what you pay for. The motel was included in a travel deal so reasonably cheap room. The floor we were on was quite noisy at times.
Hotel was very neat and tidy, rooms not overly big for a family but we'll presented. Hotel is central and not too far to walk/drive to attractions and shops or eating out. Car park is as bit of a tight squeeze so a smaller car is recommended.
