A stylish eclectic self-catering apartment with contemporary furnishings and appliances offset against textiles, chairs and stools from Ethiopia, African sculpture, textiles and a little flavour of Africa.

Beautifully presented and recently renovated Grd entry room with stairs to first floor 2 bedroom apartment with designer kitchen and luxury Queen size bed as well as second bedroom with King size bed which can be separated to make comfortable single beds.

To keep things comfortable the apartment has air conditioning/heating, Double glazing for warmth & noise reduction and leather lounge.

To relax the apartment has a 37" High def LCD TV with digital tuner and DVD player or enjoy the the balcony with outside table and chairs.

Complimentary first morning light breakfast pack including Coffee, Tea, Cereal, milk and bread and spreads provided plus eggs from our chickens when they are laying.


To keep in touch free Wifi Broadband is available on request.
The service is always available for standard email and browsing but is not suitable for gaming nor downloading large volumes. Hopefully it will improve when the NBN cable arrives.

Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, hair dryer, dishwasher, on site laundry and one undercover car park.

Portable cot and baby chair are also available on request.

Upper Davey Street historic precinct

Toogooloowa 2 is superbly located at the quiet end of Davey Street with an easy 1.8 km walk down to the Hobart CBD, Salamanca and the waterfront or to the University of Tas.

It is situated among the grand old heritage homes of upper Davey St just a short stroll along historic garden lined streets to South Hobart's shops and restaurants to the Cascade brewery and the Hobart Rivulet walk.

This self contained apartment is the perfect home away from home. Suitable for short or longer stays all at a very reasonable tariff.

If you are considering a sea-change and moving to Tasmania or visiting UTAS for a summer school or semester special arrangements can be made for longer stays.



Toogooloowa

This apartment occupies the upper floor of the stables in the grounds of Toogoolowa a beautiful heritage listed Victorian mansion which surrounds the original colonial 2 room cottage built as the first dwelling in the area during the early 1800s and the Georgian extension that was built over and around the cottage some years later.

Visitors are welcome to smell the roses, share and relax in the huge wild garden with splendid views to Mount Wellington at the rear of Toogooloowa.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. The location was perfect, the property had everything we needed and was clean, however, there is a huge crack in the wall from floor to ceiling through which you could see daylight as you walked up the stairs. This needs addressing.

Is this 5 star? No, but I wasn't looking for 5 star. I'm looking for clean, secure, friendly, easy access. All boxes were ticked.We messaged from the airport when we were on our way, Jason met us in the driveway to show us the way. Even carried my case. Showed us the apartment, laundry room, car parking, wifi passwords, reminded us to log off any streaming accounts we used and pretty much left us to our own devices - happy with that. We arrived Easter Friday, so no shops open. With permission I organised an online delivery on the Thursday, and Jason put our order in the apartment - bonus points, and very grateful we could do that.IGA two streets away, bit pricey, but convenient location. The apartment was about 15-20 min from Hobart CBD, walking down was easy but back up the hills ... not so! (lol) but then there's Uber for that!!!We didn't get to do everything we want to in Hobart/Tasmania, I'll definitely visit again and if available I'd stay at the same accommodation. Highly recommend.Oh, the only thing ... toilet was situated between wall and shower screen, bit of a tight squeeze! But I think that's the only thing not to our liking!!

Amazing, relaxing few days about 20 minute walk into town but a lovely walk. Quiet location lovely views and nice basket surprise with some bread, jam, sugar, tea, coffee etc. I would stay there again if I revisited Hobart.

The property is tired and poorly maintained.The apartment was clean enough but shabby and in need of maintenance.The blinds were not operable and had to be removed. The 2nd bedroom, didn’t have an opening window so French door had to left open all night. Rusty outdoor furniture on the deck. Windows sills were rotten.The kitchen and bathroom worked and the linen clean..The shared laundry was derelict.

Had a good time here. We were 2 adults from Germany and specially enjoyed the two separated bedrooms with large beds. The flat offered everything you need in a nice and quiet neighborhood. For example the cascades brewery is only a short walk through the park away. Communication with John was super easy and he solved everything perfectly fast.
