We stayed here for a 'girl's weekend' as a group of tired mothers at the end of school holidays. The apartments are spacious, warm, in a fabulous location for Mona ferry, Salamanca markets and restaurants. They are a little tired but very clean and all the space you need for a weekend away. I would recommend to families as well as the kitchens are well stocked and plenty of room to move

The location was fantastic with Salamanca markets literally only a few steps away however I will admit, checking in on a Saturday made it a nightmare to try and get our car to the hotel with all the street closures yet we managed and we understand that this surely does not reflect upon the hotel in any way. However to pull into the carpark, go to the front doors and then find out that reception is not even in the same building was quite unexpected. It was only a 7 or so minute walk (feels a tad longer in the cold of Hobart) but some fore warning on this would be nice so that we could have gone there before navigating our way to the hotel. We even called the day before our booking to confirm our reservation and were not informed that we would need to go to another hotel to check in, something which I believe the hotel should be more upfront about as it would catch a lot less people off guard. Maybe it is something that should be put clearly on the website (like how guests are told the common area and DVD library is at the Pier) and is also communicated directly to guests when they call and confirm bookings. Our room itself was quite nice though with a very nice set up and even a small balcony that I braved very briefly. However the bathroom was actually quite lacking compared to the modern luxury of the bedroom itself. Now, we were put in an accessible room, meaning our bathroom was a bit more basic to accommodate disabled guests but it was incredibly sparse with just bare white tiles everywhere, inefficient draining that left water on the floor almost constantly and a completely inadequate fan that did little to remove any steam from the bathroom. Looking back now there are no photos of bathrooms from any of the other rooms so I'm unsure if it is just our room that was lackluster or whether this is an area they decided to save money on.

We stayed here with our family at the start of july 2017. Appartments are in a good location close walking distance if you like to walk. However the appartments need some tlc. Mouldy shower heads and dust so thick in the vent that a spider fell on my 10 year old whilst he was showering. The rooms need better heating it was freezing of an evening and the little vent heaters only blow out air as much as a human can blow out of there mouth. We had to turn off the one in the kids room as it was blowing out dust. The somerset on pier seems to have better reviews.

Location was fabulous - right on Salamanca markets. Room was large and had a good bathroom with washing machine and dryer, also microwave. View was pretty good. Service was great with them allowing a late checkout at the last minute. I will continue to seek out Somersets for my holidays if possible.

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment as we were a group of four friends. Very comfortable roomy apartment. Main bedroom has an ensuite where the second room was just across the hall from the main bathroom. Both bedrooms and lounge room has a balcony which runs the length of the apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washing machine and clothes dryer neatly tucked away the hall cupboard. The front door of the apartments is approx 100 metres from the start of Salamanca markets. It is a very short walk to where you can catch the boat to Mona, eat at lovely restaurants and bars. If you hire a car there are parking spots available underneath the building and in a front court yard. Beds are comfy and the units are warm and adequately furnished. Will definitely stay here when I visit next year.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this property and as a travel agent I can recommend it! Its is in a fantastic location, especially for the Salamanca Markets. The apartments are spacious and clean. With a refurb which is happening soon they will be fantastic! 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, balcony, free wifi, comfy beds and secure property. Check in at Somerset on the Pier was quick and then we were taken directly to our room. An early check in was noted and we were in before 12! Service was excellent! Will definitely stay again!

Stayed at this apartment for the first time during a quite hectic period (Dark Mofo) which was not the purpose of my trip. Found the location great and the size was amazing. 2 spacious rooms (both with king beds that pull down to singles. large lounge and two great sized bathrooms . The only blip in the experience is there is no onsite management - however a staff member was there within ten minutes. Would definitely recommend. There also appears to be the ability to have joined rooms.

Was greeted with an email to do a prior check in before we arrive which I thought it was a good gesture. The apartment was neat but some areas that I thought were great 1. The 2 bedroom apartment came with washer and dryer 2. The common toilet were spacious 3. The toilets come with a nice travel toileries 4. The dishwasher and the washer came with 1 packet of powder. 5. Check in process were easy! 6. There is carpark too!!! But there are some areas which may pose as a concern for some people. 1. Their shower is fixed. So if you want to shower with holding the shower head, it may be an issue 2. Some of the furnitures like curtain were a bit dated. 3. Though there is carpark, there is limited space, so it's advisable to check when you check in.

Location is good, room cleaned daily, response to request is quite fast. Kitchen and bathroom accessories are sufficient. The oven is not strong and the cooking ventilation is not strong enough, preferably should have gas stove instead of electric.

Nice cosy apartment in a fabulous location at top of Salamanca. Was a little tired but such a great location a good kitchen with separate bedroom and family area. Great king size bed with very good pillows. We made our arrangements at the reception with James and Dennis who were so helpful, supportive and informative.
