Great location, very close to a street of restaurants, the salamanca markets and the wharf. We stayed in a studio room which is described as hotel style - but it is the smallest room I havr ever stayed in worldwide! Very cramped and the bed took up most of the space. This is manageable if you're not spending too much time in the room - hobart has so much to offer that you will most likely use the room only to sleep in anyway. Friendly service at reception across the road at lenna. But i wouldnt chose to stay here again - we paid $220 a night for the smallest room ever. Not really worth it unless you're only paying for the location.
There is nothing modern here. This feels like a 30 + year old room. Ideal for tourists and Salamanca visitors. FYI the reception for these rooms is 50m up the hilly road at another hotel. Bit of an ordeal dragging your bsgs around.
Great location for access to Hobart and also a base for travelling throughout southern Tasmania. Found it very difficult to find a restaurant without prior booking - to visitors that have just arrived and with no facilities within the apartments, I found it quite daunting.
Currently staying 3 nights in what is was presented as a penthouse on the 5th level. Somewhat surprised to find that the 3rd floor was the ground floor putting level 5 at what is reasonably regarded as the 2nd floor. This was ok as this fact and the poor noise insulation allowed us to enjoy the night time atmosphere of of Hobart, shunting trains at about 3am and garbage collection at 5 am. The apartment is a bit like the cheap well worn non stick frypan in the kitchen ....well past it's use by date. You can probably do better for the money.
The Salamanca Terraces are ideally located for those wishing to explore Hobart and especially those visiting the Salamanca Markets which are just outside the property. Salamanca Place has a variety of good restaurants and bars, all within a short walk of the apartments. Our apartment was well equipped and spacious, with a large comfortable bed, kitchen with all appliances and lounge with sofa and TV. There was also a washer/drier enabling us to stay on top of the dirty washing while on holidays. The apartment is serviced daily and was clean. Free parking is also a bonus, as other hotels, although sometimes cheaper, charge for parking. We were so pleased with our stay, we booked again for two nights prior to departing Tasmania. One caution, the shower is over the bath, so access may not suit the elderly or disabled, so I suggest you consider this before booking and discuss with reception if in doubt. Reception is at the Lena Hotel across the road and about 30 meters away, which was a bit confusing initially. I would definitely recommend the Salamanca Terraces if staying in Hobart.
These are great apartments location wise. They are clean and are self contained and fully furnished. They are dated the couch and arm chairs are very uncomfortable and the bed could be replaced. The bedroom was dark at night and very quiet. Great to have a washer/dryer. Would stay there again
Great time again . Very clean rooms/ apartment balcony in both bedrooms and lounge , 1 minutes walk to market. Views of water limited but can see. Had a great hamburger from whaler pub about 4 min walk .
We booked a studio apartment, excellent for a couple. Double glazed windows so beautifully quiet with all required amenities including a kitchenette. Within 200 metres of a dozen fine dining establishments and just around the corner from the market on Saturday. Well presented and helpful staff.
I loved the location of this hotel - around the corner from Salamanca and all the restaurants, shops and coffee shops, plus the market if you are here on the right day. A short walk to Constitution Dock and the ferry to MONA, plus more restaurants and bars on the waterfront. Free parking is a bonus, and driving around town is pretty easy. The one bedroom apartment had everything you would need for a short term stay. It was clean and very comfy. The only thing I thought was maybe missing was a clock of some sort! Nothing major, but I don't always wear a watch! Check in was easy and staff were very helpful. All in all I would definitely recommend staying here.
Lovely view from out room, heating worked efficiently at night and the sunlight kept it warm during the day. Easy check in and out. It had all we needed for a family of 3 including internal laundry. The location is perfect for a walk through the markets and a trip to the newly established Music Bar for great atmosphere and food. Definitely recommend for a relaxed stay in Hobart.
