Guest Access:

Key code access will be provided in the days prior to your arrival for seamless check-in. Parking pass must be displayed in vehicle throughout your stay in Palmetto Dunes. If you will need more than two parking passes, please contact your host. The additional passes will be $45 each and charged separately.



The Neighborhood:

The Moorings is located within the gated community of Palmetto Dunes Resort. Parking passes are required to gain entry. 2 passes are included with your reservation.

Our pet-friendly home has a few house rules regarding pets: No pets on furniture, please clean up after your dog, and dogs must be on leash while on Palmetto Dunes property. Sweep up pet hair before departure.



Getting Around:

The villa is located in the beautiful Palmetto Dunes. Easy bike ride or walk to the beach. The resort has miles of bike paths, sidewalks and lagoon access for kayaking! The mid-island location is close to restaurants, shopping and the beach by vehicle or The Dunes Buggy shuttle service seasonally.



Other Things to Note:

Palmetto Dunes Resort does not permit RV's, Shuttles, or trailers. No logo or commercial signage vehicles permitted overnight.



Pest Control

All of our homes receive professional pest control treatment every month. While an occasional bug may find its way inside, the treatments ensure they are short-lived. Please note that the community operates on a set schedule for pest control, so an exterminator visit may occur during your stay. We appreciate your understanding as this helps us maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all guests.

The property is located close to the beach. We have stayed at this property several times in the past but with a different owner. We love sitting on the balcony but could not this visit due to not being cleaned. Could not open the doors to the balcony due to an issue with them. The property seems a little worn and needs some updating.

Overall the location is great-we love Palmetto Dunes and the short walk to the beach! The floors were not very clean at all. We had black feet after walking around inside for just a short time when initially arriving. There was lots of dust over things/furniture as well. The laundry area is tight but having it was a great touch. The beds are VERY loud and make noise with the slightest movements and not ideal for sleeping at all but especially when sharing the room with two kids under two. All mattresses were this loud and very uncomfortable. However the space overall was great. Would have liked another couch or comfy space to sit on. The decorative chairs were cute but not very functional or comfy! The beach wagon, chairs and towels were handy!

Fantastic location!

Our trip did not start well, minor snafus, traffic etc. I forgot that we needed to pick up parking pass. The guard was sarcastic,rude, and obviously hated her job and tourists (this was repeated several times) then it was pitch black and we got lost. The people at Carolina properties were SO NICE, this included in person pick up and an the phone. Location was perfect, it was the right choice overall, as was moorings, just a very short walk to beach. The unit had wonderful lay out, with practically 2 seperate suites. 3 bathrooms was a plus! Porches situated for easy acess from several areas . Bathrooms. Washer dryer updated. However kitchen pots, pans silverware scratched, worn, mismatched..cheezy! We bought a new pan. Kitchen cabinets were just worn out, kind of gross even though clean. Matress in master bedroom was old(?) Had 2 divots where people usually slept..ouch!.

Great location, would stay again - could use some updates

Pros: - Location (5 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute walk to the tennis/pickleball courts). There's also a restaurant and general store nearby. This condo really is in a great location within Palmetto Dunes and is the main reason I would consider coming back. - End and top floor unit (could be a con for some if you don't want to have to carry items up multiple flights of stairs). - Private balconies off each bedroom with access to both balconies from the living room (note: the living room access door for the master bedroom balcony needs to be fixed) - 3 full bathrooms (although small, it was nice to have 3 showers and toilets). - 3 TVs with cable (a large living room TV and smaller TVs in each bedroom). - Beach wagon with 5 beach chairs and 2 beach umbrellas. The beach chairs and umbrellas were old and rusty but worked fine! There were also plenty of beach towels. Cons: - The beds in the 2nd bedroom were definitely not queen size (more like full size beds). - Cooking appliances/tools need updating. The frying pans in particular need to be replaced. - The couch in the living room was not very comfortable and didn't seem particularly clean. We opted to bring an air mattress for the living room rather than using the pull out sofa. - The floors were sandy and a little dirty (this is probably to be expected in a dog-friendly beach condo) Overall, we really enjoyed staying here! It could use some updates and a little TLC but for the price this one is hard to beat!

Not impressed with this property compared to others we have stayed at in Palmetto Dunes! The kitchen does not have a pantry so food had to stay on counters! The freezer only has 2 little shelves. Ice maker does not work. The coffee maker burner is rusted and didn’t keep coffee hot. The washer and dryer are in a very small bathroom and is tight going in to wash and dry laundry. Living room couch is lumpy. Dining room table needs replacing. I guess I’m just used to much nicer properties so will not be staying at this one again.

Location was great for beach access! This unit is near the road though so expect to hear garbage trucks and work trucks quite frequently. The property has nice potential - and one problem is bot a big deal, but there were several that I listed below…. The culmination of all led me to reach out to the property manager who did respond. They offered me 75 dollars as a refund but I would have rather had the attention to detail I expect. Unit needs a new couch- this one literally appears broken. Ice maker broken. Unable to open sliding glass doors and several broken fixtures in the unit a property manager should just maintain. Unclean under the beds, furniture and in the washing machine (yuck). Glassware had food caked on them. *** NICE Feature - A wagon, chairs and umbrella to help trek to the beach.🙂 Palmetto Dunes has lots to do.. AND its Hilton Head! ….always my happy place! Hopefully these comments will result in an improved experience for the next guest!

Amazing location!

Our first time to HHI and our family had a blast! The condo was very clean and the location was close to everything Hilton Head Island has to offer! The kids especially loved the short (very short) walk to the beach! We saw lots of dolphins and deer!

Great Location

We stayed between Christmas and New Years. It was a good location to the beach as well as getting in and out of Palmetto Dune. The property management company was quick to respond when we reached out. Our family had a fun trip in Hilton Head!

Great location!

This property was absolutely amazing! It was a short walk to the beach which was beautiful and clean. It was also an easy walk to the general store. The condo was just like the pictures. The beds were a little hard but definitely didn’t keep me from a good night sleep. Would absolutely recommend this place and we will be back!

We had a good time at this property. The location was excellent. You can easily walk to the beach in 2 minutes. It was comfortable and had 3 full bathrooms which is great for a 2 bedroom condo! We recommend this condo highly.

Great week in HHI!

After reading a few of the recent reviews regarding maintenance and upkeep, we were a little bit nervous about what we might find when checking into the unit. We messaged the host before arrival to share our concerns and ask questions. They responded informatively and honestly. Upon arrival, the unit was clean and comfortable. Some of the kitchen gadgets and materials were dull/could be replaced, but still useable and allowed for cooking meals at home on occasion. Again, the unit was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. The location is great with good proximity to the beach, beach bar and grille, and the rest of Palmetto Dunes amenities.
