Three older couples stayed for a week in this nice older home in NEED of an upgrade and maintenance: two beds have very soft and sagging mattresses, our backs were aching; kitchen sink faucet is not secured to the sink and moves excessively with leaking drain pipes beneath; and the house needs a deep cleaning.

This property is away from downtown and very pretty, spacious, and quiet. The house had everything you need like home. It also has a large patio in front which we enjoyed sitting on every evening. They also have a large patio with grill in the back out of the walkout basement that has a family room with large tv and pool table. My 2 sisters and I loved this property.

We had a nice stay at the property. We would have liked to spend more time in the basement but there was no heat. We tried to get the fireplace to light but was unable to figure it out. If i hade one suggestion it would be to update the living room furniture upstairs. would have been nice to have some recliners and more comfortable couches. All aside it was a nice place to stay. Incredibly spacious! Inside and out! Location is spectacular! Didn't appreciate the bugs and dust, paid a lot for a cleaning fee, expect it clean to begin with! Needs some TLC, especially in the kitchen. Fridge is very old, barely keeping food cold enough. Faucet felt as if it was going to pull out of the sink every time it was turned on! Overall, would stay here again though!

Failed to inform us of all the steps/hill to enter. Outdoor furniture chair straps ripped and no cushions to sit on. Inside house quite cool/cold. Beds were too soft. Tv only streamed and super small, no cd player for movies and not a chair facing tv.

Bad mattresses!

Home is good location, but…. All 3 bedroom mattresses are super soft foam that caused all 3 guests sleep and minor back discomfort. No grill, tvs are tiny and didn’t work, wifi is super slow, no deck furniture on main deck, 2 stereo systems didn’t work, needed lighter to ignite burners on cook top, some bathrooms had no shampoo or soap. For this price point, would expect mattresses you can sleep on and other amenities mentioned. Would not rent this place again.

Choose Alternate Property - If Available

Overall cleanliness is not horrible. This home has major neglect and lacks basic upkeep, small improvements, repairs, or updates. There is no evidence of professional or amateur pest control, yet there is evidence of established pests (reported). We rent owner properties in the Black Hills at least once per year, and hands down, this offers the least ROI. The dollars don't make sense, and the negative reviews about needing improvement are accurate, with the exception of the exterior stairs comments, which are more than obvious in the photos prior to booking. The property would be a consideration only if the nightly rate were lowered. Our recommendation is to enjoy an alternative property, as there are many amazing properties that are much better to choose from.
