If you’re looking for a simple clean overnight stay and your self catering this is good value I recommend. It is a monastic location next to wye valley nhs rust as long as your comfortable with church bell ringing at fairly regular intervals.

Lovely stay while exploring the area. Very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of Hereford but still close by. Great room with really nice shared kitchen facilities if you want to use them, or you can have a continental breakfast which we chose. Superb staff! We’ve already booked a return for a stopover.

Excellent accommodation, the room was clean, modern, bed comfortable Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was upstairs, which was fine for us. The Porters Lodge has a very warm and welcoming feel. The grounds are beautiful and make sure you visit the Abbey. We want to go back and use as a base for a short break. Would recommend.

very quiet ……most of the time. It might be nice to let people know that there would be quite so many bells. We didn’t know it was an abbey))

Large clean room with crisp sheets on the bed. Both the bed and the pillows were too firm, resulting in limited sleep I was convinced that continental breakfast was included when I booked the room. However the Expedia booking did not state that ,nor did the information sent to the Porters Lodge. The charge was though only £5 pp.

The room was super clean, it appeared to have been recently decorated, the carpets appeared new, the ensuite seemed new, and all was nice. One thing I would say, as the room was facing the garden, there were a couple of spotlights on the front of the abbey/centre, and the window blind didn't fully cover the window, so the light came through that was the only negative thing i could think of

Room was fairly new and clean. A little too hot during the night but the window did open slightly. Just to note the room is part the church which we didn’t realise until we got there. Right next door the bells were ringing every 15 minutes on the evening, then started again at 8am and lasted longer in the morning to call for service (it was Sunday). I enjoyed them but just to note in case you were wanting a lie-in. There is no option for breakfast although the listing did state it would be available. Overall a nice stay for a reasonable price.

Room absolutely perfect, very clean - super location. Continental breakfast provided as self service but no indication as to where it was. Luckily I found someone who was able to show me as it was in another part of the building with no signage, otherwise I wouldn’t have found it. Limited reception facilities, no one there when I left so unsure how to pay, in the end I left cash with a lady who assisted with the Abbey. Would definitely stay again, but I bit more direction/guidance would have been really helpful.
