Best location, best servive, best hotel in Heidelberg. I refuse to stay anywhere else in Hbg!

Zum Ritter is right in the middle of everything you want to see in Heidelberg. It's very convinient to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, shops. Room is a bit old but spacious enough for 2.

Hotel Zum Ritter is located in a beautiful old building on a church square in old Heidelberg. We were awarded room 304 on the very top of the front of the hotel. Everything in those statements is both positive and negative. The building has countless beautiful architectural features but is far overdue for interior remodeling, redecorating and refreshing. (“Old” does not require stained carpets, worn finish on woodwork and creaking loose flooring.) Our room undoubtedly provides the best views in Heidelberg, but was unlike any of the rooms in their website advertising. Those of you with an Oma/Grandmother where you slept in sort-of finished attic furnished with mismatched discarded furniture will understand what we had. The bathroom was redone some time ago (thick poorly applied layers of caulk have been added over the original) with linoleum flooring, a cramped 24” (60cm) shower insert and low-end counter/sink surfaces. Room 304 even has a treacherous spiral staircase to reach it after leaving the elevator on the 3rd floor (read “small, light luggage only”). But since parking is 400 meters (if you know where you are going) of cobblestone streets away from the parking facility, you need not pack in much gear/provisions. We never saw a bellman and were never asked if we needed assistance with baggage (we do not, but can’t remember the last hotel without a difficult assent to the attic where we weren’t asked)... See Trip Advisor for my full review and photos.

This hotel has a great location, mostly wonderful staff, was clean and very picturesque. The lady on the front desk during the day was wonderful. The breakfast needs improving and I would not go to the restaurant again except for ambiance. The food is much better elsewhere. The hotel building is four hundred years old, so even with updating, it is not modern comfortable. A great choice for first time tourists enthralled with centuries old Germany.

This is a beautiful historic hotel in the center of the city. Staff was friendly, but sadly I would not recommend this hotel due to their lack of air conditioning, also their lack of fans that work continuously. The fans they had only worked for up to 120 minutes, which caused us to wake up 2 times during the night due to that. Other than that hotel was good.

Very good location and quick service on all our requests! The facade was covered and under repair but did not disturb our stay.

Great look, great location, friendly staff, right on Hauptstrasse, minutes to River, plenty of shopping and restaurants.

Learned that this is the oldest hotel in Heidelberg, which survived the fire. It is kept up very nicely, and is considered a luxury in the town. We had a very wonderful and pleasant stay.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Deluxe double room was large and had an incredible view of the Heiligeistkirche.
