Hale Ha - North Shore O’ahu Peace, nature, an escape inside Sacred Valley

Breathe, a rustic modern cabin that will take your breath away with views of the Sacred Valley and the soothing sounds of the north shore surf.  Designed In the tradition of the Hawaiian lifestyle incorporating an eco friendly experience, it will feel like a quintessential Hawaiian experience. It's a cabin with a "loo with a view" (a custom composting toilet) also indoor/out mod cons like hot indoor/outdoor shower and a kitchen equipped with a toaster oven and hot plate. Climb up to bed in the loft. Wake up with coffee in the morning and listen to the birds; watch the Hawaiian wildlife as you sit in the screened in lanai. Frequent visits of wild boar and mongoose will captivate your experience.  Try a campfire at night or a hike to the beautiful river. The property sits on acres of farmland and you have the opportunity to be part of the A'ina program to learn about Hawaiian cultural living and caring for the land.
This is truely a stay for the adventurer and naturalist.
The cabin features a separate bedroom.

My husband and I lived in Hawaii for years, so we knew that we wanted a quiet escape with a view far away from Waikiki, and this was it! Waking up to the Mountain View every morning was so refreshing, and the sound of the rain on the tin roof every night made us so happy. Exploring the property and having serene places to sit with views of the valley and river brought us so much peace and happiness. Do not underestimate that shower! It doesn’t look like much, but the water pressure and temperatures are perfect and the breeze coming through were both refreshing and relaxing. We will absolutely book this again!

Despite Hurricane Lala’s attempts to keep us from this magical and lovely Sacred Valley location (power was out for a few days but returned the morning of our arrival— we needed a working fridge for medication storage) we enjoyed two blissful days in this rustic locale. Katlyn worked hard to communicate about the power issues and was gracious about a possible refund if we needed to find somewhere else on the North Shore. Luckily, it all worked out. Headlines: shower is amazing. Tankless water heater means that two weary hikers/swimmers/explorers can experience a lovely hot shower at the end of the day. Bed is queen sized and in the loft, up five stairs. This is a screened in cabin and so there’s no a/c (obv) but a fan kept us totally cool at night after the sun sets behind the mountain ridge that is just behind the cabin. It is surrounded by sugar cane and with other tiny homes on the property (check out the Rasta Bus) and down the same road is an (off limits, but viewable) Buddhist Temple. Very peaceful and quiet. Small details make this place shine: nice plates and a good toaster oven and hot plate to cook meals. Fridge is dorm-sized, but plenty big enough to stow a few days supplies. Compostable toilet is easy to use. We listened to the birds calling in the morning and a ten minute walk down to the beach every morning means you get to watch the sunrise over the water and then watch the sun set over the ridge from bed.
