the hotel was a long way from the shuttle bus drop off point. You cannot walk anywhere from the hotel has to be a taxi ride. rooms very small not really big enough for two people breakfast overpriced very little choice only had it one day thank goodness burger king nearby arrived on a sat pm to be told bar and restaurant closed that evening kettle in room and two polystyrene cups staff helpful but language was a problem as I don't speak French and she didn't really speak English!
Great for an overnight stay but no more, very easy to find off the motorway, very clean but rooms too small for two. The breakfast room is modern, clean and airy with a good menu. The restaurant closes for dinner at 10pm which makes getting there from the channel ports in time for a meal difficult.
Practical for the A20. The rooms are very small, though the basics are all there. Not good though if it's exceedingly hot weather, sleep was impossible. The staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. The buffet dinner was very good, excellent quality and a good choice - worth a visit just for the dinner! Breakfast had plenty of choice. Unfortunately for us, we hit a very, very, hot evening, so we were not the most comfortable. Worth staying there when it's less hot.
I read some of the other reviews for this hotel. I think some people have Champagne tastes with Ginger Beer money !! The hotel is clean, comfortable and very friendly. The manager is meticulous in his attention to detail. We were early for dinner and so had a drink at the bar. During this time the manager checked every part of the buffet (hot and cold) and sent back to the kitchen a couple of dishes he wasn't happy with. The room was a tad small but clean and well equipped. The food was excellent. On a promo rate the room was £39 . The meal was good value. Definitely a future stop over for us and thank you Kyriad.
I stumbled yesterday lunchtime on this hotel restaurant buffet, fabulous I must say. Staff all very attentive, food very very good. Roast gammon, unheard of in France, yummy. We will return, very soon, ....
The hotel stands in an industrial estate but this is no problem. The first impression is a little off putting as the outside is a bit faded however, don't let this put you off. Inside it is crisp, clean and modern with reasonably sized rooms and a decent sized bathroom. The staff were excellent and most helpful. The restaurant offers buffet style food which is typically French as you might expect. I do sometimes wonder how hotels maintain such large and varied buffets when there are clearly not enough guests to eat it all. Having said that there was nothing to be concerned with, the food looked fresh and tasted fine. A very small 'con' is the noise of traffic on the road by the hotel. It was noisy during the early evening but soon died down meaning sleeping wasn't interrupted. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
We stayed her on our way down to Spain. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, if a little bijou. The shower was very good and staff were helpful. We would stay again at this hotel. Parking was very good, and access was easy off of motorway.
Nothing startling about this hotel as you'd expect BUT all the staff were so friendly and chatty! No complaints about the room or the hotel at all! Had a very tasty meal in the restaurant and again the staff there were very pleasant to talk to. I notice some of the previous reviews were a bit scathing but we didn't note any of the previous problems noted. Well done all concerned! Enjoyed our stay immensely! :)
I no longer stay here! Since the last manager left the hotel has gone downhill. The rooms often smell of mildew, the wifi does not work very well and the restaurant now serves a buffet style offering of unappetizing food.
Our coach party, mostly senior citizens stopped overnight on our return to the U.K. We were dissappointed with the evening meal which was cold gammon, mashed potato and half a cooked tomato. A real hot meal would have been appreciated after our tiring journey. The starters had a good selection and the sweet was passable. The accommodation for two was very cramped in an airless room and opening the window was a hard task. The bottle trap to the wash basin was blocked and had not been checked for some time so the water took a long time to empty. Ill-fitting doors to the shower caused water to come out onto the tiled floor, making it slippery. Our travelling companions had an end room which had flies buzzing around and had not been updated as some of the other rooms. They were fortunate to be moved to another room. I notice the last review was in 2005 . . . over the years I fear things have detiorated !
