First off, I would classify this as a motel—not a hotel. It's a two level property. Although marked non-smoking, most of the rooms had the smell of smoke that did not dissipate. Stayed here for 8 nights during a business trip. Found the room to be small in comparison to most American hotels, but was clean. Location was a little dated, but was reasonable for the price. Bathrooms had a full tub/shower which was a welcomed site. If you are traveling alone or are a couple, it's a decent place to stay for a night or two. It is close to the motorway making it convenient to find. Also near a supermarket and McDonalds.
I think I've stepped back into time by about 30 years, and that every previous person that stayed in my room smoked it into the next decade. Terriblly small, and not user friendly. It looks like a 'cabin' in the woods, when you pull up. I almost don't dare write this review, as they might get me in the night. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.
We had to stay two nights; we consider us lucky to find this hotel: nice staff, clean, easy access, free parking, coffee machine in the room, good restaurant, excellent value of money. Receptionist was friendly and helpful; We'll be back!
Ok for an overnight stop. Easy access from motorway. Wouldn't choose this hotel for a holiday. Looks very grubby from the outside but clean enough inside. The bed was comfortable. Nice to be able to park our car right outside the door.
I did not like this. From the outside it looks very ugly, like an old motel.. The woodwork looks as if it will fall apart. The rooms are clean so that's good and the shower is nice. Location nothing special but i Also didn't like Mulhouse.
I was surprised to find a motel-like establishment in France via my rental car's GPS. The lady at the reception was very friendly and tolerated my imperfect French very well. The ground-level room was easy to access, although quite overheated to begin with. Keeping the door open for a while (+3 outside) and switching the very hot electric radiator off for the night was the solution. The room was clearly renovated quite recently and was equipped with a tea kettle, easy-to-access power sockets for my various chargers, and even an infrared wall heater in the bathroom. I enjoyed my first bathtub bath in years, something you don't find often in cheap hotels any more. The curtain darkened the flashes of cars' headlights from the nearby intersection very well and I had a very good night's sleep, completed by an excellent breakfast including fresh oranges to press your own fresh juice.
My wife and I stayed here for an overnight stop on the way to Italy. I can honestly say this is the most disgusting 'hotel' we have ever been to. The staff spent most of their time smoking in groups outside reception, taking the time only to scowl at guests. The room oozed years of the stench of nicotine, and clearly hadn't been decorated since what seemed like the 70s. Everywhere was filthy to the point where we felt we had to sleep fully-clothed. I could go on and on but I won't. Complaints to the manager, the regional manager, and the directors of the parent company fell on deaf, arrogant ears. We will NEVER stay at any hotel owned by Kyriad and it's parent group again.
This hotel is listed on the Kyriad web site as Kyriad Mulhouse Est – Lutterbach. We got a good deal on this hotel by reserving it in advance. Apparently the price was cheap because of the May 1 holiday weekend. We paid EUR 44 per night. The regular price posted is EUR 67. It’s sandwiched in between a couple of busy streets so there is traffic noise until it dies down late at night. I slept with earplugs and with them it was OK. The motel is easy to find. Rooms are of good size, clean and comfortable. Desk clerk friendly and helpful, spoke English. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel but didn’t try it. There is a McDonalds and an Intermarche across the street. If you go downtown there is an excellent donar kebab place at the crossroads in the center of town. Had a delicious, huge donar sandwich for EUR 4. They also sell a “magadonar” but the regular was plenty for me. Go across the freeway and follow the signs to the excellent automobile and train museums in Mulhouse. You can also visit several old, well-preserved towns and do wine tasting on the “Route de Vin”.
