Hotel deserved 3 stars in 2012, with 5 years validity. Whatever it may have been, it has lost stars in those 5 years. Campanile Hotels should take maintenance more serious. Small rooms with very low ceiling, without Airco (!) and one little window to enable fresh air to get in makes it very hard to survive a summer night. It gave me a real headache. Fortunately the bathrooms are still up to standard, so if you like it the spartan way, go ahead. Staff seems proud not being able to speak english, which wasn't a problem for me, but that attitude is not very 2017....
For the price, you cant go wrong. The room was tiny but pretty clean and had everything needed for a pit stop. Reception staff were pleasant. The area of which the hotel sites felt a bit dodgy and as such when we arrived there was a burning car in the street and lots of teenagers racing their cars about. The hotel itself is set back from the main road and we didn't feel too worried whilst in the hotel grounds.
The room itself was basic. A small window could be opened but the shutter could not be left up as the walkway passed by it. Bed, lights, TV, coffee, tea. etc perfectly good. The bathroom however was WONDERFUL. Two shower heads, one moveable, and a massive magnifying mirror. It was 26 degrees and the room was boiling. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the gentleman's English was superb.
-Very small room, torn curtains. Very hot, very noisy. Restaurant like a canteen. +good breakfast, clean and good shower/ bathroom. Free wifi that didn't work. The repaired window looked like it had been subject to a break in attempt.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon in August. Clearly there were limited staff available, but we were quickly given a room on an upper floor. The room was clean and didn't smell of smoke! Dinner was ok, but the service was very slow. There were too many people for the young lady to cope with and there were issues with 'attitude'. While my wife was largely ignored, I was not. Our French is not good, but there is no appreciative difference between our command of the language! When I asked if there was a calvados available, she said she didn't know what I meant. We settled for brandy. This was forgotten. When I asked about the order, apologies were given and the brandy was 'on the house'. The contrast with the attitude of staff the following morning couldn't have been more marked. All were helpful and polite. The breakfast ok and was typical of Campaniles. I really don't know if I'd stay again.
Both Campanile hotels in Mulhouse are below par when compared with the rest of the chain. The rooms are in Mulhouse Sud are clean but very very tired looking and the food in the restaurant is of pretty thin fare. I'd recommend walking to the nearby boulangerie for breakfast and wandering further afield for dinner.
No-frills, simple and OK for an overnight stop. Clean room and bathroom (with bath!). Heater but no aircon. Rooms on autoroute side a bit noisy. Simple restaurant. Breakfast extra but quite good. MacDonalds very close. Several restaurant options at nearby Holiday Inn venue. Good, free, secure parking outside.
We found this Campanile to be much below our expectations. In spite of having asked for a ground floor room because of our age, we were given one on the second floor. The young woman in the office was helpful and kind, but the food was really quite dreadful. We both had veal and fries for our evening meal and they were inedible. The veal seemed to us to be largely breadcrumbs and the fries were damp and cool. We left most of the food.
Motel tipicamente americano.
