Stayed here for a night since i had a morning meeting in Hartford yesterday. Tuesday night I arrive around 7 pm and see they have dinner out for the guests. It was bbq chicken sandwiches, coleslaw, and baked beans. I was starving and just flew in from San Francisco so I made myself a plate. Hours later, around 11 pm I woke up feeling SUPER nauseous. Something was not right. I puked 3 times. Then I proceeded to call the front desk to see if they could deliver water and pepto bismol to the room, the lady who answered was rude and said "we don't do that". Seriously? I can barely walk without having to puke you can't deliver water bottles and medicine to me? I then go downstairs to the lobby myself to purchase the pepto bismol and water. Of course, just what i had hoped wouldn't happen did. While the lady was ringing me up, i had to throw up! I ran to the closest trash can to me. I was shaking, in tears. The lady did not say a word to me. I grabbed the items and went back upstairs and continued to feel sick the duration of the night. I even considered going to the ER. I made my meeting, somehow, after having zero sleep that night. When i checked out i mentioned the food poisoning and they said they would call me to investigate but haven't yet. I am a loyal marriott rewards member and stay at a lot of residence inn's. This has never happened to me! Come to think of it I have not gotten food poisoning outside of traveling to India or Mexico. Someone from the county's health department needs to check out this hotel and their cleanliness in the kitchen. I hope no one else had to deal with what i dealt with that night. I could not eat anything yesterday as my stomach was still extremely queasy. Never will I stay at this hotel again.
This is a great hotel with big rooms and free breakfast! Multi level rooms with full kitchens! Nicely decorated and in the heart of it all. Would deffinetly cone back again if my travels lead me this way.
We had a "loft" room, two levels with a king bed upstairs, full kitchen. So much space! Furniture and amenities good quality, good free breakfast in the morning, free parking, everything as promised. Location is right in the middle of downtown.
We had a wonderful experience at this property. Rooms are clean and large. Staff is outstanding- front desks folks very helpful- especially Martine. Marriott Reservations- Angela Pearson in the Solon Ohio center was amazing putting our reservation together. She is soo efficient & made our plans so easy. I will definitely use Marriott again because of them.
The staff at this place is so amazingly kind and lovely. We chatted casually with the front desk staff, food staff, etc. We were there to do some college visits with our daughter. The staff gave us lots of tips about the 2 colleges we were visiting. Our son got a few treats! The hotel is maybe a bit older, typical of New England but kept up nicely. I accidentally booked a huge suite which turned out to be ok. Conveniently located (25 minutes to so) to Univ of Hartford and Quinnipiac. I have 1 critique and 1 suggestion. Pick a room that doesn't face the street- it's a bit noisey. We were on the 5th floor on the hall seen in the pictures. And it would be nice to have fresh fruit on the breakfast menu. 😊 Thank you for a good stay!
Spent three nights here to go to the Irish Step Dancing competition at the Convention Center. We walked to the Convention Center from here in about 8 to 10 minutes. The staff here were wonderful. No matter what you need they are right on it. Whether it was the desk, ( explained the area and directions around the city) the breakfast area, ( she couldn't help more than she did from pouring hot water and helping with waffles) the housekeeping, ( delivering extra linens, towels and a inflatable bed) It was above and beyond. The room was large which had a loft with a king size bed in it. Very comfy. There was a small sectional with a pullout sofa with chaise attached. A small kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, stove and full size refrigerator. The place was huge. The bathroom was very clean and nice quality towels. Parking is behind the hotel and is $17 a day. Breakfast is free with a wide assortment of food and good coffee. We will be back again next year as the competition is booked at the Convention Center for 2018. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay.
Finding the parking was a bit challenging. But I was welcomed at the front desk enthusiastically. I was really happy that I chose this hotel because the room was awesome. It had a loft-style bedroom so it felt more like an apartment and a hotel room. Being that I stand hotel rooms almost every night that I conduct business, I really appreciated it being a bit different. Had huge Windows across the back and I really appreciated the little gift bag with water and snacks when I checked in. The staff was outstanding! The hotel room was really nice and very very clean. I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Residence Inn in Hartford. The staff was very good ! From the man at the parking to the ladies at the check in. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel was located across the street from the wedding we attended. The rooms are large and comfortable. This is a nice place to stay if you are going to Hartford.
My husband and I stayed in this hotel from the last week of February until the last week of August of this year and it has been an amazing stay for us. All the staff are very friendly and very accommodating -- from the front desk to the housekeeping and kitchen staff... staying in a place far away from home could've been lonely for us but how could one be lonely when you're surrounded by people who genuinely care about you, would greet you a good morning with a warm smile, or would make sure you have all the things that you need in your room? Breakfast everyday is fresh and hot, there's coffee anytime of the day, and some food Mon-Wed nights(potato salad is delicious!)... I love the chocolate chocolate chip cookies and the waffles.... the rooms are huge and homey -- and I love the kitchen!! I was even able to bake macarons, cakes, and cupcakes during my stay here! 😊 Regards to Kadeen, Joel, and Caroline Maria when we were at the 7th floor and Ana when we moved to the 6th floor for the rest of our stay Janet and Ms. Val and everyone else whose name I forgot but know by face 😀 you're all amazing! 😊
While the rooms are large they are awkwardly laid out. You walk into the kitchen area that is quite adequate . But past that on your left are 5 or 6 steps up to a bathroom and open bedroom that overlooks the lower level. Continuing past the steps on the entry level is a narrow long walkway past the upper bedroom to a desk area then left turn to living room (that wraps around the other side of bedroom). Disjointed! The soundproofing is almost non existent. Breakfast is included and is pretty good.
