The Suite was 2 rooms, very spacious. However, the Heat/AC units need HELP !
As a retired HVAC tech, I explain to the one person working on X-Mas day, Claire, what was needed to be remedied, only after my wife and I needed to switch rooms after unpacking everything.
The HVAC units were lableled with confusing instructions, eventually we just accepted it was X-mas. UNTIL,,,I went back to the front desk looking for a snack from the vending area. Now a different woman, I commented that after all we went through and all my help with solving the problem I should be "comped" for the $5.00 bag of which turned out to be stale popcorn. The woman at the desk, didn't blink and asked even though we had issues,,is our current room satisfactory ? I said yes being I solved the problem. She paused and asked if I'm paying cash or charging the popcorn to my room. I over paid $5.00 each for 3 items that should have cost $2.00.
I doubt my wife and I will ever book the Hampton Inn located on Chocolate Ave. again. It was X-mas, with only one person working and me, I was helping solve the hotels problems and I was dismissed without any appreciation. I kept the one overpriced item of $5.00 to keep us reminded of our stay that X-mas night. Fred Yahn
