Amazing hotel, beautiful rooms with great view, good restaurant, nice staff. Been there for a exhibition at ball room and all organisation was perfect. In the evening went out nearby the park for the fantastic water show and took a walk to the river. Nothing to complain about.

Positively surprised! First time to China and Hangzhou so I have nothing to compare with but I can only recommend the place. Rooms: Had a room on the 17th floor so I do not know whether the rooms on other floors have a different layout because of the building design. Spacious, enough space for clothes to hang and put, bathroom big enough with separation for shower and even toilet. Clean and tidy, perhaps some years old but you really do not recognize this. Breakfast: Mixture of Chinese, Asian and Continental Breakfast. Everything is available! Actually I think it is too much because you really spent time in looking what is offered instead in having breakfast... Personnel: Here I have to tell that this was just more than perfect! Wherever you went you had been taken care of. I had due to accident even the support from the hotel that they joined me with one of their employees to the hospital for a check. This free of charge and without even asking or any discussion. Just helpful! Once again thanks very much (also special thanks to Roy who joined med to the hospital and was guiding me through the different dep. and translated - Big thanks)

Attached to the premier conference facilities in Hangzhou, this Intercontinental Hotel is an architectural feat, with spectacular lobby/atrium, well-equipped and large guest rooms, and outstanding dining and bar areas. Basic fitness center but nice pool, both on the top floor.

Great stay, good service, comfortable and nice rooms. Breakfast downstair is good, wide variety of Western and Chinese. Upstairs at the Lounge breakfast is basic but adequate. The pool is curved, so have to swim laps in a curve. Gym is basic but ok.

I had to stay in this hotel because of a conference I am attending. The room has a breathtaking view of the river and surrounding buildings. The postmodern design of this hotel, and surrounding ones, like the civic center, is a marvellous sight. The room is probably one of the most spacious I have stayed in anywhere in the world, with a walk in wardrobe and dual sinks. The comfort level is amazing, with a second television from the bath tub, work desk, lounge chair, huge king bed and free wifi connection. The bed faces the glass window which occupies the entire opposite wall of the room. At night the sight of the moving lights from the nearby building is out of this world. The checking in desk and the breakfasts are located on level 5, separated from the concierge and travel stuffs on level 1, so need to changes lifts to get out of hotel each time. This is a little inconvenient but provides more security and privacy.

As a IHG Platinum ambassador member, I have a two nights stay in this hotel after having stayed 4 nights in the Intercontinental Puxi. While the luxury Puxi property is top class in hardware, Intercontinental Hangzhou provided top class service throughout our stay. From the front desk ladies who managed our bookings in a reassuring manner (I messed up the check in dates), to the wonderful executive club lounge associates, this property left me a deep impression in the level of service a luxury hotel should strive for. While the Intercontinental Hangzhou is not located in the West Lake area, you could just grab a cab to the nearby attractions. Extremely affordable and easy to manage as well.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip, the style of the hotel is breathtaking, with very well appointed rooms with all facilities that you would need. I hotel is on the river with very nice views.

Good: - large rooms, comfortable bed - polite, friendly and helpful staff - location - away from West Lake but next to the river. Pleasent area to jog/stroll. - peaceful public area behind the hotel (my favourite part of Hangzhou), the fountain and light show! - metro a 5 min walk away - a good mode of transport given that traffic to and fro the West lake area can be bad - outlet mall and MIXC mall within walking distance(but both I found just average) - large gym and indoor pool - good confence area Could be improved: - large spread at breakfast but nothing with Oomph - ventilation in my room could be improved - tv in my room had inconsistent signal

We received a very warm welcome on arrival. Rooms are large and comfortable but have several house keeping issues - smell of urine in the toilet area, also a cobweb in the toilet area which there for the duration of our stay, taps needed proper cleaning and the low window sill hadn't been dusted and the TV guide was a month out of date. Friendly staff on the Executive floor but one morning had to send fried eggs back not being properly cooked. In the gym area the attendant at the swimming pool whom we assumed was a life guard was too busy on her iPhone to answer some basic questions about water depth etc. We dined in Fresh one one night and got a warm welcome but very inexperienced staff in clearing tables and had to ask 3 times for our bill. These are all small points but point to a lack of management supervision as we didn't see a manager walking around in the three days we stayed here.

The hotel itself is conviniently located for all those who do not need to stay by the Westlake. The riverbank location in modern part of HZ gives opportunity to walk, shop and dine conviniently. Hotel itself is modern. Panoramic lifts, spacious rooms and beautiful pool at 18th floor gives you feeling of comfort. This pleasant impression is spoiled once you go for breakfast... Plenty of dirty tables, waiters lost and overwhelmed with crowd of people. You need to wait to get your table ready, you need to wait to get your coffee... either not enough waiterr or they are not properly trained how to manage the workload and give the proper service....
