We had a 3 night stay over a weekend, staff were very friendly and very professional. Room very clean and well equipped a little dated but overall good, food and service in the restaurant excellent. During our stay there was a wedding held at the hotel which did not affect the service we received from the staff but we got the impression the wedding guests thought they had exclusively of the hotel. Soundproofing could be improved in the room as noise from other guests passing our door late in the night was loud. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Nice hotel in the middle of the park, good location for walks, rooms are good and tidy, also a bit old here. Kitchen is perfect, only the service is bad, staff is more busy with appointment book than with customers. Staff are friendly but management is not correct.
We are just back from a weekend at the Moorhill House Hotel. We were a large family group of 32 and Peter and his staff made it a very relaxed stay for us all. They coped with us very well AND had a large wedding group on the Saturday - well done everyone. Thank you Peter.
Stayed in the hotel on the 7/7/2017 for the price I paid for the room you think they have a better hand raii for. A disabled person to use when going up the stairs to the level were the beds were we had room one with a double bed and two twin beds witch were up some stairs in the room the rail to hold on to was just a price of brass pipe witch was not safe.the bathroom was down the stairs were the other room was so it would not be safe for my hubby to use them in the night as he would of fall down them the bathroom needs a update to as the shower is in the bath and for a olderly person it would be a problem for them. There was no fridge in the room to keep my hubby insulin in to keep. Cold when asked about a fridge I was told that they could but it in. The fridge in the kitchen and I just ask when my hubby needs it that not the point I paid £199 pounds for one night and I will not be staying there again.
I booked with Booking.com 11 months before my stay from the 30th of June to the 2nd of July. I was supposed to be in a classic/double room and was put in Room 20. This room was NOTHING LIKE ANY that are shown on the Booking.com website. The decor and general layout of the room wouldn't be described as "tired" it would be better described as "comatosed " Other wedding guests were also put in these type of rooms but were still probably paying the same price as the ones seen on the website. There were only 4 beers/lager on tap in the bar and on the first evening Becks ran out and couldn't be replenished. The average waiting time for a drink was approximately 15 minutes as the pump pressure was so low that the flow from the taps was almost at a trickle saying nothing for the speed or lack of it shown by the bar staff. Other than the breakfast being good it was definitely NOT value for money.
We as a family had a really nice two night stay at the Moorhill. We really enjoyed the very quiet swimming pool Our room served us well and was generous in size. Breakfast was great, having to order breakfast from the menu is much nicer, fresher and special than the norm buffet's that most hotels offer. Staff were very friendly and helpful We will stay again in the future
We had a wonderful stay and experience at this lovely location. Staff were very friendly and very attentive, thank you to Peter (Head Waiter) and Louise who were charming and couldn't do enough for us and all our guests. Overall great atmosphere, it was also dog friendly...how cute is that!!
I stayed here with my 3 year old daughter for three nights (20-23 June), currently writing this whilst still at the hotel. The location was perfect for our needs I.e. Visiting Peppa Pig World which is around 20mins away. But not only that, there are plenty of other nice places to visit within 30mins drive. The hotel is set down a narrow lane off of the main road so it is nice and quiet, but I guess the small village of Burley can be reached with a 10min walk for most people. The hotel has a large, safe garden for kids or dogs to run around in. There is a nice patio/terrace area to sit and relax, as well as various indoor spaces such as the nice garden room, reception area or cosy bar. There is a small swimming pool too, perfect for my daughter and I but maybe too small for the serious swimmer. We found all staff to be very friendly, accommodating, helpful and happy. The food was nice, enough dishes on the menus (main menu and kids) for a few night stay. Perhaps we'd struggle after 3 nights but this is a fairly small hotel and not a large all inclusive place!. There are lots of steps, stairs and doors so the less mobile people may struggle to get around this hotel. With the amount of steps etc, then perhaps not the most child friendly of places - but if you watch your kids closely then it's fine here. My daughter is 3 and enjoyed a safe and happy stay and the staff were all very good to her. Our room was a nice size, clean and had plenty of storage. My only complaint is I could not stand up in the shower due to the sloped roof, nor was the shower very powerful so I either had to kneel in the bath, or have a bath. Some people may struggle with this (room 12) The hotel during our stay seemed very quiet, no weddings going on and there was plenty of parking. Room 12 is up a few flights of stairs and overlooks the terrace and garden. We kept the window open as it was hot and no air con - but we were not disturbed by any outside noise. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and very pleased we chose Moorhill House for our New Forest break.
Just recently stayed at the Moorhill Hotel with my two dogs. I have stayed there several times before and never been disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful and clean. The food was good. The hotel itself is in an excellent position to the New Forest. Went there for a rest, that's exactly what I got, came away feeling chilled.
This is a lovely find, a good size friendly hotel hidden up in the woods but just a few minutes walk from Burley. The food was lovely, good facilities and child friendly. My young daughter was unwell during our stay and the staff were brilliant. All the staff were asking how she was the next day and they went out of their way to help, with no fuss. The only downside is there is no aircon (though there is a fan in the room), so when there is a function on and you want the windows open it can be very noisy (our room was above the terrace which was noisy until late). Oh and the pool is a bit chilly, but you can warm up in the sauna afterwards! Our second visit and will definitely be staying again. Recommended.
