After a very long drive, the peace & quiet of Manor Views was very much appreciated. Our room had a deck with outdoor furniture & long distance views over the lakes & hills. We were greeted on arrival & shown to our room by our host who gave us a run through of the room & secuity. The room was clean & cosy with everything we needed including a very comfy bed. No hesitation recommending Manor Views to any travellers. Thanks to our friendly hosts.

I accidentally booked the wrong weekend and the owner went out of his way to find me a room for 2 days as I went down there for a funeral.Always a great place to stay and very friendly.

This property is well-positioned on the hill looking out over Huntly, and close to the old SH1. The rooms were clean and well maintained. My only critique is that reception isn’t well marked, and the deck off the back of our room (where we parked the car) had high steps and no railing, which would be an issue for anyone who has mobility issues. You can see the owners care for the history of the property and are working to respect it with the work they undertake to maintain it.

The Description lies!! The amenities and room descriptions are inaccurate. We booked the honeymoon suite which says it has a king bed, but it only has a full. I am certain of this because I am 5’4” and if I lay horizontally on a queen, it is my height exactly, but my feet dangled off this bed. A quick search shows that bed sizes are the same in the US and NZ. Secondly, it says the room has a spa, which is false. It has a fancy tub/shower combo, but all of the spa elements are disabled and you only have the shower or waterfall shower feature. It also says it has a lake view, but it does not. We didn’t care about this feature, but I am mentioning it because it’s inaccurate. This was our last night in NZ and was looking forward to having a good sleep in a big bed and having a relaxing spa time before we travel for 24 hours. We opened the patio doors for some fresh air and sewer smell wafted in and was pretty gross. If this property was honest about the facilities and rated itself 3-3.5 stars with a double bed and regular shower, it was at a reasonable price point and I might have booked it anyway intentionally. However, you set the expectations way too high and we were extremely disappointed.

couldn't figure out the shower from instructions until the next morning unfortunately and all the things I wanted from it when booking were disconnected (it looked very high pressure and I'd done a day of sports) bed was good and overall a decent stay. just do expect a basic shower.

Gorgeous! Originally a maternity hospital. They've kept beautiful decor and lovely fixtures and furniture. Amazing place. Little patio, large bathroom, lovely lovely lovely. Gracious host, beautiful views also.
