Took my family on a weekend-away to Hamburg, Germany and absolutely fell in love with this city. Try to stay on the side facing the little square to be woken up by birds and sunshine. Breakfast is plentiful but can get crowded. Try the Eggs Benedict Nordic Style with rye bread and shrimps - "to die for". Staff is always smiling and willing to assist, rooms are rather modern and stylish, beds very comfortable. Parking facilities opposite the hotel are in abundance and you do not need your car anyway. 10 minutes’ walk to the Alster, 15 minutes’ walk to the port and the breath-taking Elbphilharmonie-buidling. Take the public transport vessel 61 & 62 along the river for a more local feel of the harbour. Will stay here again on our next trip!
i stay for 2 nights during a business trip to hamburg. Good hotel located in the heart of the city. the staff very helpful, rooms big clean and the breakfast also good. room price also reasonable basis that we are talking for 5 stars hotel
Historic hotel with gorgeous design and boutique feel. Staff were awesome, rooms were clean, spacious and stylish, and the breakfast top notch. The location is fantastic for shopping and right near the river. Great value for money. Hamburg surprised me with its eclectic beauty and I will definitely come back with my family, and stay at this hotel.
Well located in the centre of the city, this hotel had good comfortable rooms which were reasonably spacious. The rooms were quiet and the location of the hotel was in a quiet area. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Hotel had good WiFi.
This is not the first time that we are here. Now the rooms were renovetd, nice new decor. Quiet, but central. You can reach easily evry important place in the city, either by walking or with very close public transport.
The room has an elegant decor, with thoughtful touches like towelling robes and slippers included. Expect a trendy, well-functioning shower, comfy bed and a good range of teas and coffees. Staff are willing to engage with you beyond their given brief, and persuaded me to not leave early for my flight in the middle of the night, as I was worried about the safety implications of taking the Metro on my own in the small hours. But the best thing about the whole experience? It had to be the breakfast! It was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. More types of cheese, cold cuts, breads, preserves and cereals than you can shake a stick at, local artisan honey, pancakes, smoked salmon and eggs in about six ways. Everything tasted so fresh and made with a lot of care. I just wish I didn't have to leave so early on the second night!
On conference in Hamburg. Good level for this hotel right in the city center. Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and first dinner worked perfectly. The chef helped me by describing all ingredients of all masks in the lunch buffet to avoid allergy. Which I found very thoughtful. The gym is little but enough. Can get crowded with a few people in it tough. Close to subway and bus.
I've been at the Marriott around the corner before and decided to try this. Not disappointed by any means. Great rooms. Quiet. Clean. Great staff and good European breakfast. Several options within a short walking distance from the hotel. About 30 mins from the airport depending on traffic. Much better option than the airport courtyard if you have a few days
Stayed at the Renaissance for 1 night in a junior suite with my 3 children. The location right in the middle of Hamburgs premier shopping district is second to none, at the size of the suite is absolutely OK. However, service at the reception (and bell boy service) is not completely up to the standard to what's expected for a hotel in this (quite high) pricerange and the reception simply seems understaffed for a hotel this size. Notable mention: The hotel bar. Good drinks card and great staff.
Nice and convenient location. I heard great deal about no free WiFi however if you become Marriott club member than the WiFi is free in the room and hotel lobby as well. To be a member you need an email address. Front desk can be really busy however are very helpful. Breakfast is a good spread of German breads and the usual stuff such as cornflakes, muesli, fruits etc. Serving staff is also helpful. Centrally located and everything is with in walking distance including miniature Wonderland.
