Just a few steps from Dammtor Bahnhof, connected to the ICE rail system, this is perfect if you plan to visit other places by rail. Fully stocked minibar and coffee and tea maker are present. Great views from the upper floors. Outside surroundings in bad shape.
Nice place to stay. However, the hotel is more for business people. Not suited for family. The view from hotel rooms are fantastic. You can see the whole Hamburg, since the building is tall and stands in the heart of the city.
enjoyed my stay and hotel location worked out for me
Overall very positive experience. Staff very helpful and accommodating and professional. Very clean rooms with timely cleaning and service. I highly recommend this hotel next time you visit Hamburg. Very central location and great price for what you get for your money.
Cool new design proves working well. Love the fact that there is no carpet in the room, minimizing the chance of acquiring athlete's foot. Room has everything you need, including water cooker. The reception in the lobby looks like a bar, didn't even find it immediately. Excellent views no matter which side your room is on. Nice touch: each bed has 3 pillows in three different sizes, small to large.
Nice hotel. Very clean rooms, good customer service and a nice workout facility. The hotel is located right next to the train station which was extremely convenient. We were able to hop on and off the train to visit different types of the city with no problems.
Great location in the city, and beautiful hotel installations.
The hotel was in a super location and the staff extremely friendly
We liked the location - train station outside the hotel where we could buy inexpensive meals, drinks, etc to take back to the room since we're on a budget. Also close to subway which were were able to take from Hamburg airport right to hotel. I'd recommend to everyone
Stayed at hotel while attending conference in attached Congress Center Hall. Excellent accomodations, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful Planten und Blomen park right outside the door. Wonderful views. Hotel restaurant excellent. Free wireless internet in rooms, a rarity in German hotels.
Hotel was very nice, however, internet did not work due to construction/renovation. Staff did move me to another room that worked.
1. hotel was adequate, but renovations still have a long way to go. 2. wireless did not work in room. when I asked for cable for Broadband, they couldn't find one.
Great location next to train station. Once finished it will be an amazing place.
I liked the hotel very much in terms of its location which is right next to the train station. A few steps and you're on your way to Berlin and other major cities. The restaurants in the hotel were excellent. You can even walk to the delis at the train station for more choices. The rooms were very comfortable. The dealbreaker was the soap in the rooms. It irritated me that the hotel just gave 1 soap for BOTH the bath and for the sink. To top it all, they never replaced or added another soap bar for my 3 days stay.
This is a very nice hotel facility. Customer service is not their strong point. I had just come from a different hotel where I was made to feel like a guest. At the SAS, I was a customer. They have a small business center where computer access is availabl. The customer has to pay (.37 euros/min) for access if they do not have their own laptop (which I did not). The problem is that even after swiping my credit card, I could not get on the internet. Hotel staff was not helpful - they never use the business center themselves. I was also unable to make a credit card phone call (ATT) from my room. I tried and it did not work. I called the desk to see what the proper procedure was to make the call. They said I was doing everythin correctly and that it should be working. Offered no further help.
