We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I say this because we changed rooms three times in the first hour because the refrigerator in the rooms were not functioning and the fan in the bathroom would not turn off The breakfast was good a little on the expensive side at 12 Euros each but it was good quality food and very fresh. The hotel rooms need to be renovated because they are aging. The lift is a one person only ride and it was broken on the 2nd floor The staff did well to handle all the issues with this building and keep people happy

We stayed in this hotel because it was in principle a good deal: 97€ per night in a very busy period in Hamburg. We thought this tariff included breakfast but no, Breakfast is not included and it is around 12,5 per person which are not worth at all. I'm pretty sure you can get hotels in Hamburg for 125€ having a better breakfast, better rooms and better service. I will definitely not recommend this place at all. We only got it because they accept animals (but read my comment hereunder). We really hated the service. The girl at the front desk made us some nasty faces the night we arrived because our 1 month old was crying. On top of that, We asked her about the fee for bringing our dogs in the hotel and she laughed... as she did not take us serious, we decided to sneak in the dogs in the room... another girl on the front desk was also really not friendly at all and got very rude when I asked for a token to go out of the parking. Hotel is really old: Lift is old, tiny (barely space for 2 people and a suitcase) and very slow. Hotels rooms are old and the carpet is filthy. Even when I'm a good sleeper, I had the worst night as I could not sleep as the heater in the room made a terrible noise. All in all, this hotel is a bad choice. Don't go there. I'm pretty sure are much better hotels around for the same price or even cheaper.

Check in seemed pretty good, too good as it turned out as when i walked in to my allocated room i was greeted by a pile of luggage in the corner along with someones clothing hung on the coat rail in the room - finished off with a used shower cap on the side in the bathroom! Went back to reception who were apologetic although i am not convinced they believed me as said this was not possible. New room allocated which wasnt as bright as my original allocated room and looked a little tired and in need of renovation. Breakfast is good with a good choice and fresh, the bar service however is woeful. Waited an average of ten minutes to get served even though the bar was empty, on our last evening after waiting over ten minutes i eventually gave up and had an early night. Hotel is a little away from the centre and a good walk to the nearest subway. Finally, after checking out and arriving home i realized i had left my phone charger and cable plugged in next to the bed. I mailed the hotel immediately to enquire about retrieving this back and got a delivery receipt & read confirmation for my mail but as of yet i have not received a reply - fair to say the mail service is slower than the bar service. Lots of choice of hotels in Hamburg and considering the cost i would not rate it as value for money and would not look to stay here again.

This hotel was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke very good English. The food Was incredible. The room was comfortable. The only down side was the rubbish WiFi signal.

Very glad I ignored the reviews about this hotel, it's fantastic. It's close to the shops and the zoo (which is amazing) The continental breakfast was stunning, with cooked breakfast options as well. The staff were incredibly friendly and all of them speak pretty good English, they were also very friendly! Shout out to Ralph who we found hilarious! We got a free drinks voucher from reception as it was my boyfriends birthday. I have no complaints about this hotel, we loved it! Just wish we stayed longer!

I put it was close to arena but it is about one hour walk,i know this as i could not get a taxi at night after going to the Barclay card arena, and i did walk it,nice that the bar was still open when i got back, friendly hotel clean but although they said they had wi-fi it did not work.

Basically a motel I would think. It has a bar and a restaurant, of course the reception. That's about it. Rooms were very very tired. Our was on the ground floor so we had a door to the garden which was probably not touched for months. Pretty average for today's standards.

Whilst it doesn't look too great from the outside, the inside was very nice, modern and clean. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was in a great location for us - there are a few shops & restaurants in walking distance and so is Hamburg Zoo, and the train station is only a few minutes walk away which connects you to everywhere else. Good price with breakfast included, would recommend this hotel!

We spent a week here in July 2016. Our first room was on the third floor, street side. The hotel does NOT have air conditioning, so if you go in the summer be aware. It was hot and noisy. We asked if we could be moved, the staff were very nice and moved our room as soon as they had an opening. We were given a huge, studio apartment size on the lowest floor (basement). It was a lot cooler and very quiet. It had a king size bed, couch, chair, desk and lots of room to move around. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times, very good food. Breakfast was buffet style for 12.50 Euros, not bad when it has a specialty coffee machine (one cup elsewhere can cost 2 euro). We also had dinner, very good, but not much of a choice on the day we went. The staff always said hello and were very attentive when we needed something. If it had air conditioning I would have given it a 5 star review.

Situated on the outskirts of Hamburg while the TRYP is probably cheaper than most other hotels in Hamburg, it definitely needs a facelift. The hotel badly needs a renovation; the rooms lack air conditioning; we were shocked when we checked in to the hotel and realized that the rooms did not have central AC. This seems like a basic requirement; woe to me that I did not check this when I made a reservation. I mistakenly made the assumption that most hotels would have central AC and paid the price for it! Check in was a breeze, the front desk manager was friendly but seemed to want to get rid of us as soon as possible. The hotel lacks basic amenities like a luggage cart; we had a lot of luggage since we were on an international trip and it was back breaking work to carry up all our luggage from our car to the room. The elevator is tiny and we had to make multiple trips to get the luggage pieces to our rooms. The parking is in the basement most modern hotels have a room key that can be used to enter and exit the car park, the parking here used tokens which have to be procured at the front deck to enter the parking. Also while the car park is in the building making this better than an open air car park, there is little security as anyone can enter and do anything to your car; so it is in your interest to ensure that your valuables are stowed away safely in the car. The room is not too shabby; there were two double beds and this was quite comfortable for the four of us. The bath room was a little dirty; with rust stains on the faucets; it needed a little cleaning. The process to get connected in the hotel is completely dated; the front desk provides you with vouchers with a username and password for each of your devices and you need to connect to the internet and sign in each of your devices. A much better option used in other hotels is to use your room number and last name as a way to generate a unique key to logon to the wireless network. The hotel would do well to upgrade their wireless network and UID system. The internet is slow; loading a page takes for ever! It also keeps dropping the connection every few minutes All in all this hotel lacks basic amenities; I would definitely not stay here again.. nor would I recommend this to anyone
