Stayed here for 5 nights in December while attending a sport event in Hamburg. The hotel is pretty basic. My room was spacious, but a bit worn. Few facilities in the reception area, breakfast was however very good. The area itself isn't among the most interesting in Hamburg. Billstedt shopping centre is a four minutes walk away and may be an attraction to some. Otherwise there are broad streets with a lot of traffic, plenty of small shops, hairdressers etc., which you tend to find in such areas, with a lot of immigrants (not to be interpreted negatively). Next door from the entrance there is a bistro called Einstein, which serves very good food. I lived on the 9th floor, which meant I was dependent on the lifts. Had to wait a couple of minutes on more than one occation, so the capacity is below standard.
This was a very average hotel, and very pricy for what we got. We had to pay 9Euro extra for parking and the room was very standard with no frills. It was quite a 'flat' atmosphere hotel... I won't remember it and would only recommend it if you literally need a bed to crash in... and don't mind paying a little more....
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, excellent breakfast, served from 05:30. Staff were helpful and very pleasant. The rooms were basic and clean with 2 single beds. We found the south facing room got very hot with the windows closed, with the windows open it was very noisy as the hotel is situated on a busy crossroads. Hotel was a 10 minute walk from the closest U Bahn station. There was a bus stop outside of the hotel. Close to a good shopping centre, with good cafes in the area. A good pub, Einstein, was next door to the hotel, it served excellent food and beers, a happy hour for cocktails was held every day from 17:00, also after 21:00.
Spent 4 nights with my son here just before Xmas. Clean, organised, safe with very good breakfast. There to see the city so super soft comfort not necessary; more than adequate, great for the price. Usual high quality German infrastructure affords regular, quick, easy travel links. For Zcity break, perfect.
It was nice but they did not clean our room every day. I wish they cleaned our room and gave us up dated rooms the rooms looked old from 1980 i wish it was up dated and they didn't have a iron on hand.
Second time in Hamburg , first time at this hotel. Clean rooms, simple and no fancy things. Good wifi for one device. The noise from the street can disturb you but you can close the window and it has a good insulation. Breakfast is simple but all the important aliments are there. I did not like the cofee at all , but maybe it is because I prefer italian coffee. Close to the metrostation. Not so far from the airport, we payed around 35 eur for taxi. Good value for money.
Nice place for a citybreak. Very good and fresh breakfast. A little obsolete in terms of plums & bathroom facilities. Polite but cold staff at the reception; nevertheless we got finally some city trip advices.
The long weekend with family. Simple and basic rooms and amenities, worn carpet, no air-con. Through the open window one may listen traffic sounds or how people are having fun in the bar downstairs. By the way that Einstein bar was not so bad. Generally there were mostly Turkish eateries in the neighborhood. Complicated wi-fi, one hour per day is supposed to be for free and for the rest one has to pay. But - with the access code we'd paid for it's possible to connect only two devices. Surprisingly good continental breakfast and there were free tables every time, the staff was very effective. The U-Bahn station is not so far away, less than 1 km, or it is possible to take a bus to the U-Bahn, all buses goes there. And the Billsted shopping mall is near by, one may go to from the hotel to the U-Bahn through the shopping mall, it is especially handy when its raining. So - there are only remarks, not complaints, because this is not the most expensive hotel in Hamburg:) and one gets what pays for (mostly).
The hotel is ok for a night. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfeast is general basic German standart. Not much variation. If you have a room in a high floor, be prepared to spend up to 20 minutes to reach ground floor. Elevators are as slow as possible. If you want to have dinner, cross the road to the neighbour Hotel Panorama, where a good Nordic Buffet is offered for a reasonable price. Situated walking distance 5 minutes to a metro station. Metro takes 15 minutes to center of town. Shopping malls and all kind of small business just a few steps away in a pedestrian area
Nice hotel. Staff very helpful. The rooms are a nice size and the beds comfortable. Only complaint about the room was that there was only one pillow each. Toiletries were provided. The breakfast was very good, nice selection of cold meats and cheeses plus cereal, bread rolls and jams/spreads. Coffee was lovely too. The lift was broken whilst we were there which sometimes meant a 5 minute wait for it but no other concerns about the hotel itself. Just a word of warning if you eat/drink at the bar/restaurant next door "Einstein" check your bill before paying. They tried to charge us for beers we didn't have. The hotel itself is across the road from a large shopping centre and there are quite a lot of restaurants and shops in the area. The bus stop across the road takes you to Central station and the U bahn is 5 mins walk away and that gets you to Rathaus and the centre in around 20 mins. All in all a very nice hotel and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
