This hotel is in a colourful district. It had secure parking which you pay for, and as we wanted to leave the car for the duration of our stay this was useful. Parking upon arrival was tricky as the road outside is very busy with cars and pedestrians. Reception staff were welcoming (directions for the car park were for walking not driving which was interesting) and we were soon checked in. Room was clean, on second floor at the rear of the hotel. Quite basic in style and furnishings but clean. Hand soap and shower gel provided in wall mounted containers. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the weather was warm and there was no air conditioning. There was a very, very noisy cafe or something below the building and it was if the patrons were in the room with us it was so loud - continuing until 3am one morning. There was also a building site opposite which started up at 5am one morning (7am on others). The main areas of the hotel were clean and we stopped on a hot afternoon for a cold drink in the bar which was pleasant and served by a friendly bar man. We didn't eat breakfast in so can't comment on that. I would not have felt safe walking back to the hotel at night on my own. Would not stay here again.
This hotel is 100% OK. We were in Hamburg on a stag party and it was quite a trek from Reeperbah party area (not the hotels fault). The hotel itself was decent, nice clean and tidy with friendly staff who were willing to help with enquires. There is only 1 iron for the whole hotel which is frustrating and in the reception area and the bar was not open for much of the time and hotel staff unable to serve from the bar as it's an outside company. Other than this is was all ok. Note to stags: book hotel closer to Reeperbahn.
Had a nice stay . Not the nicest of neighbourhood lots of litter and ladies of the night . But just 5 minutes walk to the main train station. Bar prices ok but €14 for the breakfast was a bit much . And the free wifi never worked ( you need to pay for decent wifi)
This is nice, clean, modern hotel with pleasant staff who all spoke English. The room was a decent size and had good storage space. The bathroom was nice although shower space could have been a bit larger. The bed is very low and may not suit everybody. I would be happy to stay here again. The hotel is located a 5-10 minute walk from the main rail station where you can also access the underground system. The walk from the station is through a seedy part of town but even late at night I never felt unsafe but maybe not the best for a family trip.
My spouse and our infant stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Good: - Clean, modern room - Friendly and helpful staff - Close to main train station and most connections Bad: - Neighborhood (especially not a great area for children or families) - Pricy breakfast - Expensive and not-on-location parking (ARCOTEL garage across the street)
I stayed at this hotel for one night as the hotel I normally stay in was booked. Awful, terrible!! Building works started at 07.30. I rang reception and they did nothing. I opened the curtains and 2 metres away there is a builder on the scaffolding using hammer drills or kango hammers. The noise was terrible so I had to get up despite arriving late. I took video and a picture and went to reception. They agreed it was terrible but so far they have done nothing. They even told me it was illegal to take pictures in the hotel!!! Went out for breakfast to be approached numerous times by prostitutes asking for money and sex. The area is seriously rough do not take your family or partner. They really do not care.
Only stayed for one night. Staff were lovely, spoke English really well and were happy to help! Room was nice and clean, mints left on the pillow. Generally a nice place. Only issues; sink had a crack in it, shower was a little small, curtain kept getting stuck to me:( Area isn't that nice, especially if you're a girl. The local men aren't shy in staring at you, and there are some very inappropriate shops inbetween you and the train station/town centre. Which gives the whole area a really creepy and uncomfortable feel to it. Not somewhere you want to walk at night if I'm honest. Other than that the place is nice.
When I first walked from the central station to the hotel I wasn't sure I about the area as I thought it may be too far from the city. However its only a few minutes on the other side of the station so it's a pefect balance of staying central and yet with the 'locals'. There are also some nice cafe bars in St George just on the road parallel to Steindamm which we only noticed at the end of the stay. The area was so much livelier with more character than the 'center' with a great vibe and yet quiet rooms.
This hotel was literally a 10 minute walk from the main central train station, on a busy main road, and was very easy to find when we arrived in Hamburg at 10pm. 5 minutes in the other direction is U-bahn station (Lohmuhlenstrasse), so it’s great for getting around. The main street is really busy, lots of falafel/kebab places, a few seedier looking stores and Kino arcades. We had to walk to the train station at 5am Saturday morning, and it was a bit grim - drunks, a few prostitutes. But hey, that's any big City really, and the great location far outweighed these aspects. Hotel itself is very modern & clean, staff nice & friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor and was very quiet, it was large enough for two, with plenty of storage. Housekeeping was excellent. We found the beds a wee bit low and hard - we don't often comment on this sort of thing, but both of us had a few uncomfortable nights. But that could just be us - maybe we're getting old! We didn't have breakfast - at 12 euro each, it seemed a bit pricey, especially as there are so many places nearby to grab something. There are also a few supermarkets on the same street - Lidl, Pennys - if you want to stock up on supplies. Overall, a well-priced, conveniently located hotel, and a great base for us on our 4-day city break.
The hotel was easy to find just a short walk from central station or 5E in a taxi. The reception and restaurant looked smart the whole hotel looked new. Check in was swift and staff friendly our room was on the 6th floor and although it was small it was perfect for the 3 nights. The beds are comfy and rooms well maintained with all the extras such as tea/coffee, kettle, soap and shampoo. The shower is small with reasonable water pressure but again was fine for the short stay. We didn't eat in the restaurant but noted the breakfast was priced at 14.90E was a little expensive for our budget so can't comment on the food. Bottles of wine were around 23E and we took up the coupon found in the room for 2 cocktails for 9.80E don't bother they are horrid. The hotel has free wi-fi. Unfortunately the area leaves a lot to be desired which is the reason I have only rated the hotel as average. The street including the walk from central station is very intimidating with the whole area surrounded with groups of men lots of them drinking or just hanging about we saw fights and prostitutes so as a group of 3 women we didn't venture out of the hotel after 7pm because of this.
