Arrived with family after a long drive from Luxembourg. Initial we were taken good care of until we got to the rooms. Overall air conditioning was terrible. We had two connecting rooms and in of them the air conditioning stopped working late night. The adjustment panel was also broke. Eventually we had to open the windows, which was not an preferred option while the hotel has heavy traffic outside. There was no batteries for the remote tv control and breakfast was expensive. We have stayed at 20 hotels this July, and this one was expensive and bad. Steer clear!
Good hotel property, however not much around within walking distance. Lots of police staying as guests in preparation for the G-20 meeting. Rooms and public areas were well kept and the staff were great. The restaurant was great. The staff opened early for us. Good menu and morning breakfast.
Good location, easy access to city center by bus. Bus stop right in front of hotel. Bathrooms and bedrooms were really good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The high quality breakfast buffet was a great start in the day.
Hello, we did an upgrade to Junior Suite room. From the beginning the air condition did not work. We mentioned this several times, but nobody took care of this issue. Also, the second morning the dishes were not rinsed. No Minibar fill up, no coffee machine (but Nespresso cups - useless), no instant coffee, no whitener. We called the reception (2 times) and got some whitener after 35 minutes. We have paid quite a lot for such a poor service.
Yup you read my title correct. Do they really want to be rated or not so that they can improve their service. Room is nice but smells of cigarette smoke. Room is hot but the hotel is deaf about our concerns regarding the room temperature and didnt do anything even if we have complained. They wouldn't change the towels even when used twice and placed in area to be replaced. Have to ask before they will change it. Personnels are in a hurry to clean your room and will even enter while you are still inside. Dont ever change your money here to Euros if you don't want to be charged a whopping 10% which is not explained ahead. Not all is bad. The Navarra restaurant is a nice place for ypur breakfast. Good food choices with vegans not forgotten. Coffee, tea and the juices are all ok and adds to the array of fruit selection. Adequate and hearty.
Somehow booked via booking for a busy business trip, they charge you >200 euro for a night so the initial thought is wow, that will be a fancy stay. Upon arrival I got a free upgrade to a suite. Good start I thought. Well it turned out a bit different. Rooms are outdated, many things broken, lots of road noise entering the rooms. The bed is too soft and too short. The Bathroom is not ok and very outdated, the shower is at shoulder height (I am 193cm). There is a lack of interior lighting in the whole apartment. Airco was not present, room temp over 25degrees. Breakfast was pure chaos but plenty of choice I have to say. The elevators are a pain, they have a very loud DINGDANGDONG sound when arriving at a floor. This sound is loud in your room (I stayed 535). Checkout ques of 15 people. Wifi connecting but speed from the internet we were used to in 1988. All small problems which you'd expect for a 60 euro a night hotel but this one costed over 200. There is plenty of hotel choice in Hamburg that outperform this hotel with ease for less money. I will skip this one next time. Even when it is less than half the price.
This hotel is bad at many levels, but worst of all is the service. Check in was terrible. The person at the front desk barely spoke english and seemed either extremely bored or just very uncomfortable talking to me. Same thing at check out, just a very rude and uninterested attitude. I got a room on the first floor, which was fine, but the AC didn't work so I slept very bad and was woken up at around 4:30 when a truck started loading laundry for about half an hour on the street outside. Make sure to bring ear plugs if you want a good night's sleep on one of the lower floors. At 8:30 the maid just opened the door and went straight into the room as I was getting dressed. No knock, just went straight in. I'm in Hamburg about once a month and I will make sure I never stay at this place again. I can't recommend anyone else to stay there either. If I was the manager of this place, I would talk to my staff to see if they're happy working there, because they probably aren't and it's showing. Unhappy staff often means unhappy customers.
Easily accessible & well appointed hotel with competent & friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet generous and varied. Spa facilities limited but acceptable with bathrobes & towels provided.
My room was very noisy. Throughout the night there was a sound like a constantly running machine. Then by 5 am equipment was being moved again and again 2 nights in a row. The NH receptionists seem overburdened with the load. Each morning/ evening we needed a taxi, we would patiently wait in the line, the request was taken, but no taxi would come. Then we would line up again to realise the taxi hadn't really been called. Lost nearly half an hour in our conference on the first day.
Although NH usually offer good standard, this one feels a bit old and not very glamorous. It is not in the city heart and one needs a cab in order to reach the nice spots of the city. Room size is ok but the hotel needs a little modernization & warmer decoration.
