We were booked into this hotel as part of a cruise package so were mot sure what to expect; however, it exceeded our expectations. The room was well laid out with everything you could expect. Having a corner desk would be attractive to business as well as leisure travellers. The double glazing worked very well blocking out completely the noise from the main road. Downstairs there is a very nice bar area & a restaurant. We didn't check out the restaurant but it looked nice & seemed to have a good trade. The bar was well stocked & mot overly expensive for a hotel bar - prices were similar to pubs at home. The service was very good & the free peanuts were delicious. The hotel also has free water & some sweets in reception which I thought was a nice touch. There is a regular bus that takes you to the train which opens up Hamburg & it is so cheap to travel by public transport it puts the UK to shame. There is a local McDonald's - which is convenient for a cheap breakfast. Great couple of days
I spent one night in this hotel and it was a pleasant experience. The room was nice, breakfast offered all I wanted, staff was friendly. There were no issues and I had a good sleep. I did not have the time to look at the gym which I will do next time. I will come back!
Arrived before we were able to get in room but it wasn't a problem. We were able to leave luggage in a secure place and go away till later. Staff were amazing friendly and very accomodating considering my German was very poor. Nothing was to much trouble and they were so helpful. Would definitely recommend to stay here as clean and tidy and close enough to hamburg without being to far. Once again can't say enough about the staff and how great they were. Easy check in easy check out what more could you want 😆
Checking in was chaotic and resulted in the concierge not finding my pre-paid reservation as well as a chain of rather unfortunate events from his end that I find are best not to elaborate on. The rooms are decorated in poor taste in what I would describe as "bare-minimum late 90s Euro-sale" and considering I was assigned one of the suites after all the mishaps, seeing the room price posted on the inside of the door I can't for the life of me think how they believe that that price is justified. However, it is fair to say that everything was clean and the one thing that I can wholeheartedly recommend is the Bed. While the lady at checkout put in her best effort and was really nice, I can't recommend this hotel seeing that there is an array of similarly priced hotels with better set-ups especially if you are thinking about getting the suite.
The service in both the restaurant AND the hotel really amazed me this time around! I’m a regular here at least three times/year for the last several years, and the service has always been good. Today, however, with my kids and my two little grandsons, aged not yet 3 and 4 as guests, the restaurant team really showed they care, and we had a truly lovely time! My sincere compliments to the entire restaurant team and also reception, who had my regular room up and ready within half an hour of my early arrival. My kids were so impressed that they will be recommending this hotel to the other grandparents for their regular visits, too. Well done, NH Hotels!
Room as almost empty... No hangers, no comfy chair... Desk without chair... It almost was a bed in a big area. Breakfast ok and place clean. Bit far from downtown. Many many many others to choose at this price range.
on our way from the South to the far North-East of Germany this was the perfectly located Hotel in Hamburg. The rooms (we had two double rooms) were spacy and clean with a good athmoshere. Windows were facing the side streets so that we could open them over night despite the big street in front of the Hotel.
Compared to the other hotels i have been to (very similar price range), this is below average. The rooms are really basic for the price, no decoration at all. Bed is only regular size. You can hear the rather loud street. Internet is super slow. Staff is definitely okay. Coffee quality at breakfast is much below average. The breakfast is also below same-priced hotels. To me it appears more like a 3 star hotel than 4 star. I would rather choose other hotels in Hamburg than this one
Excellent ratio Price Room / Breakfast, good location, personnel friendly, people from front desk very warming and available always to give some tips, good food in restaurant. I cancelled my booking extension without addiotanal charge
Some of the reviews of this hotel could put others off from staying which would be a shame. It’s not in the centre of Hamburg by any means but you would presumably check that out before booking it. There is a bus stop right opposite that will take you to Rathaus (town hall) within about 20 minutes. There are stops on the way that will drop you very near Reeperbahn as well. The hotel is clean, the staff are helpful, the rooms are of a very decent size. My only complaint (if I were to have one) is that the rooms weren’t ready until 3pm and after travelling for almost 10 hours before arriving it would have been nice to get settled into the room and freshen up before going into the city. Breakfast is on the steep side - €22.90 EACH - but there is a McDonalds across the road and there are supermarkets within a short walking distance, so you’re able to make your own arrangements if you don’t want to pay their fancy prices. I would definitely stay here again.
