We had a stop over in Hamburg for just one night. Before the stop over/night was booked I had a great correspondance with K. Schulz from the reservation office in order to get breakfast booked, ensure that we could leave the car at the hotel and then get free transfers to and from the airport. Everything worked out to my absolute satiesfaction. Also the breakfast was excellent and the transfers to and from the airport was no problem. We will use one of the Leonardo Hotels in Hamburg another good time.
I stayed here for work reasons after not staying here for a while. I noticed a real marked improvement in the service and the cleanliness which was great to see. When I arrived in the room, there was fresh fruit and chocolates on offer, this was a really nice touch! The only weird thing is the ceiling in the shower was metal mesh, it was a little rusty and looked strange, you could see up into what looked like the cavity. Breakfast is nice here, will provide soya milk on request and there is a large selection of food on offer.
Had one night here last week and found it conveniently located to the airport and the city. Friendly and helpful staff on the front desk. Room clean and quiet. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and food was okay for a quick bite. Bar looked stocked and staff were friendly Every bit of this place was clean. I've stayed in several Leonardos in Hamburg and this has so far been my favourite
Very nice hotel in all respects Clean well appointed rooms Excellent choice of breakfast buffet Great staff and very good location close to the airport Ideal if you are going to the north side of Hamburg
I have been staying in this hotel beacuse of work for about 15 years now. It used to be The Queens Hotel, then a Best Western and now a Leonardo Hotel (maybe I missed something in between!). When it changed to Leonardo there was a brief moment of tidying up and, what I guess was, staff bolstering, in the sense of "be more positive and the guests will like it". It seemed to work for a very short while. My latest visit, (now) on first glance seemed an improvement on my previous one. I had written an e-mail and I had received a charming reply agreeing to my request of a quiet room, on a high floor, away from the lift - local knowledge!! When I arrived, the receptionist was polite and efficient, my room appeared at first glance to be welcoming. I had a complimentary little plate of mixed fruit, biscuits and chocolates. On reflection, I am not sure if that was for St Niklaus (two days ago), the Immaculate Conception (yesterday), or, because I am a privelidged Leonardo Club Member. The bathroom was no better than last year and but distinctly worse than 15 years ago. Old toilets just look dirty whatever you try to do to them. Breakfast, I think was probably the same, I am not a communal breakfast person but I did look into the breakfast room. However, I must say, I had a good clean kettle in my room and could enjoy a cuppa whenever I so desired. OK, here we go. I went to the bar after work and had a beer. OK. Nothing to complain about apart from the fact that I was served by a "pleasant enough" young lady who was still finishing her last mouthful of something or other. I ordered a "Großer Leonardo Salad" with an extra of "Goats Cheese". In addition, I ordered a bottle of white italian wine (I am staying for three days so I thought I could save the rest for the other nights). Well, the salad was really disappointing. It was just a handful of various lettuce leaves and two cherry tomatoes cut in half. There were no red peppers as stated on the menu and no balsamico vinaigrette. Roasted seeds? No way, there were seeds, yes, but had they been roasted? No way! Now I know that for some people a salad is uninteresting but for many, a good salad is exciting and full of flavour, and whats more, a full meal. I am sure that I would have had a better meal if I had crossed the road and foraged in the Stadtpark only a couple of minutes away. DId I complain? No. Why? Because I want an easy life, tomorrow I will go elsewhere to eat like I did yesterday. As for the wine? Shown at the table, opened behind the bar and the cork shoved in to an already open red wine bottle behind the bar. Would I come back to this hotel? Well my company books this hotel and so I am pretty much stuck with that decision. Honestly, if it was that bad I would refuse to come here, I can cope with it but there is another hotel very close by of similar rating that I would prefer given the choice. NM.
Arrival in evening traffic fine, so as parking. Room clean and fine, beds are ok. There is a fridge that used be a minibar and a el. water pot for coffee/tea. Bathroom ok. Pipe noise from neighbor rooms might be a disturbance.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The rooms are extremely tiny. My wife arrived a day early and mentioned that I am tall, so they switched her room so that I could actually fit in the bathroom (seriously the guest height makes a difference). But, with that being said, if you are traveling alone, then the rooms are fine. They have also recently renovated them so they are very nice, sleek, and give you a true European feel. With that being said, there is no central air or circulation, which can be a problem if the air is stuffy or it is raining so can't open the windows as much (and it rains a lot). The breakfast is also excellent. Most of the staff are pretty friendly and speak multiple languages. The location is close to the beautiful Stadtpark and also many businesses for meetings.
Clean, local to everything breakfast was better this time around Staff excellent dfinately worth visiting for business or pleasure Allows dogs which was good to see. Quiet hotel good sized rooms Will be booking again, this was number 8 times of booking
Great hotel with a beautiful park as it’s back garden great links to the airport and city centre as it’s 5 minutes walk from the s bahn (metro) the rooms are a good size and have comfy beds the staff are polite and helpful would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Hamburg.
This hotel got stuck in the 70’s i guess. There are only 2 lifts for visitors and one of them didn’t work almost the whole week we were there. But they look like they are slightly renovating the place. new paint on the staircases and walls. Overall good hotel, fine beds, clean rooms, friendly staff, ok breakfast with a lot of choice. The coffee is drinkable not great but ok. My room looked out on the gas stations parking lot.. maybe not the best but who cares :) on the room they give you soap, towels, things to brush your shoes, a bottle of spakling water and a water heater.
