Great location on lake Alster, 15 mins walk from Central train station and couple of minutes more from the heart of the city. Surrounded by trendy St Georg area with many nice bars and restaurants. Hotel top-floor restaurant Heritage has a fantastic lake view. Breakfast is excellent and is conviniently served until 11.30am on weekend. Rooms are spacious and comfy, with modern design. Service was superb from the first second. I lost my mobile phone at Hamburg airport and the consierge was extremely efficient in locating my phone. Many thanks!
My first time to Hamburg and I spent three nights at Le Meridien. First and foremost, location is excellent. All of the highlights are within walking distance. I walked to the new Opera House, The Port, Elbe Tunnel, St. Michael’s Church, and other areas of the city. Very easy to get to these places from the hotel. The service was very good and there was one young lady at concierge who was excellent at her job. She helped me a number of times, always with a smile and in a timely manner. My room was beautiful, multi-level on the 9th floor with floor to ceiling windows. Very comfortable bed and a great desk area. I don’t like the built in ironing boards but they do save space so I get it. The other thing I noticed was the sink space it very small, not much space to lay things out. Other than that, great room with a huge tub upstairs and a little space to relax and watch tv. I had dinner at The Heritage on one evening, got right in with no reservation. Had soup and dessert. It was excellent. The buffet breakfast is also very good with lots of options (hot and cold). I didn’t use the gym because if you walk across the street there is 7km run around the lake that is beautiful. I heard the spa was very good and saw many guests coming up from treatments. Overall a very good stay and I would definitely come back.
I liked the hotel for its location just across the Alster and not far away from city center and great roof-top restaurant with good cousin and fantastic view. I stayed in executive room which had a good size and was well appointed. The only issue was noise coming from the road in front of the hotel. Although the view to Alster was outstanding, if you are sensible to noise at night, Id’ recommend to try the rooms on the opposite side.
This hotel is centrally located within the city in an upscale residential neighborhood. It's only an 8-10 minute walk from Central Station and close to many cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets. It takes about a 15 minute walk to be right in the heart of the city center. The decor and vibe is very chic and modern. Housekeeping does a wonderful job keeping our room and public areas clean. The room we stayed in was standard with a "city view." With a city view, depending what floor you're on, you see the rooftops of nearby buildings, which was OK for us. I believe the premium rooms are facing the harbor. Along with the design of the hotel, the rooms are very modern and contemporary. The bathroom was a nice size. I especially liked the shower with a curtain. Even that was stylish. I prefer a curtain because in most 4 & 5 star hotels, the shower/tub has a partial glass wall. Water spills out onto the bathroom floor and makes a mess. This was not the case in this bathroom. There was also sizeable storage space and a mini-fridge to store personal food items. The fitness center is small but it does have your basics; cardio, weights, and machines. If it's busy and you like to stretch, there won't be that much room. It's located down a hallway off the lobby area. The staff are great. Any interaction I had was pleasant and helpful. A BIG applause to them! On the downside, the wifi was bad. Maybe it was due to my room location. I had a very weak signal. Many times I lost my connection and had trouble reconnecting. The only way I was able to get reliable wifi was to walk to the seating area near the elevators on my floor or down to the lobby. After my first day, I went down to the front desk to see if they could have someone from the IT staff look into this. By the time I returned later in the afternoon there was a message on my TV from the IT Manager saying I needed to connect to the guest network and not the "fashion hotel" network. When I made my report to the front desk, I specifically said I was connected to the guest network so the message from the IT Manager was useless. I felt like no effort was made to check the network area in and around my room. It was this reason I did not rate the hotel a 5-star review. If my travel plans take me back to Hamburg, I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again, despite the wifi issues.
Very nice hotel with excellent service and magnificent view to the basic lake of Hamburg (Ausenalster). The rooms are very comfortable and large enough. The breakfast is very good and the breakfast hall in the top roof a clever idea. Furthermore the location is very near to city center.
A great chain hotel and one of the more comfy. rooms are a good size and very well laid out. bed is big and comfy bedding is very good quality pillows are good curtains close properly and give a good blackout shower is excellent there is a lovely bath too lots of good towels. tea and coffee is very basic there is a fridge there is a desk to work at there is also an area to sit breakfast is excellent offering good choice and quallty ingredients
Good location, train station about a 10 min. walk away, a couple of blocks from lots of restaurants & shops. The room was clean, large & comfortable, but very poorly lit, more like a cocktail lounge than living quarters. A large pretentious bathroom, with a truly annoying sliding translucent glass door & a sink that was almost unusable because the faucet was so close to the basin. The large shower stall had 3 nozzles, which were rather annoying to use. It did give a good shower just because of the water volume, but was clearly not designed by the same people who wanted us to save the planet by not having our sheets changed. We did not want to spend 28 euros for their breakfast, so we used the fridge. The electric teakettle leaked & the coffee cups were metal, kind of unpleasant. I think this room is the interior design version of a fashion victim. The room was quiet at night, although there was some construction next door during the day.
I choose to stay here because it looks closed to the central station and it's about 15min walk. I feel safe walk at the night around the central station and St. George neighbor hood back to the hotel. The room is OK, clean. About the average overall the level as it should be. the only thing bothered me is the gym is too small, and not easy to find.
Its my third time at this hotel and I keep choosing it as it is relatively cheap, clean, efficient and has a good/central location. I would not choose the hotel for personal trips to Hamburg as it is lacking a bit of charm. Especially the rooms are dull and bland. The breakfast is served at the top floor with a wonderful view of the Alster lake. The food however is below standard of other similar hotels in Hamburg.
Nice hotel, kept very clean with spacious rooms. Unfortunately fractured wifi reception impacted overall enjoyment. Similar issues commented by other guests when discussed. If important, recommend asking about wifi reception when booking. Would consider when returning to Hamburg.
