Hotel is located at Binnenalster. Good for Walking into the City and other Locations. Fantastic breakfast with great view over the City. Staff is friendly and they help where ever they can. Room modern, good space and silent. It is the second time we are there and we definitely will stay there whenever we are in Hamburg.
The Le Meridien Hotel is located right on the Ausenalster (Outer- Alster) with great views of the lake. The hotel is in walking distance to the Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) and the Binnenalster (Inner Alster) and the Jungfernstig from where the lake cruises leave from. There are a number of different cruises ranging from ¾ hour to 2 hr. all serve drinks and the longer one they also serve food. We stayed in the Le Meridien Hotel purely for the position and the views of the lake. We cannot fault the hotel, the staff where very help full and friendly. On the first night we did had an evening meal here which was very good. Margaret and Klaus
The hotel has an excellent location. Easy to reach the inner city on foot. The room is large and clean. The staff is good, friendly and the overal service is great. The view from the front rooms and from the restaurant is really nice, right on a lake. I give only four stars because the food could be better.
We spent 5 nights here in a double room with a city view. The room was very good and the beds extremely comfortable and large which lead to a very good nights sleep. Breakfast was fantastic with a very good range to suit all people. We were well looked after by the very friendly and attentive staff. It's so relaxing and was a pleasure to dine and look at the lake view. We also had dinner here one night and the food was fabulous. The hotel is very well located and a close walk to the station. We used the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi pool and swimming pool which were great. I loved this hotel and Hamburg and look forward to my next visit.
With the exception of the bar and restaurant on the top floor with fabulous view of the Binnenalster, this hotel was a disappointment. Considering that it is a Meridien and 5* hotel we had expected much more. The interior of the hotel does not at all mirror what it aims to be on the webpage– a design hotel, or maybe my taste is just different… This slight disappointment upon arriving was only supported once checking in at the reception - travelling as a family we had booked, I believe, a junior suite or at least a room with bed space for 4 persons, however were at the reception desk confronted with an ask for additional charges for extra beds, which although not charged in the end, was an annoying conversion to have. The room we were given was large but relatively dull with a view of the entrance to the parking lot and a backyard garden, so this did not change the feeling of being slightly disappointed. Lastly, travelling with kids we are heavy user of pool and spa facilities, but without sufficient bathrobes in the room and apparently with no bathrobes left at the whole hotel, we had to wait until the laundry could deliver a new batch. Breakfast was served in the restaurant at the top floor, so that was ok. In conclusion - with so many fabulous hotels available in Hamburg in this price range, I would recommend investigating an alternative.
Great hotel and my room had a beautiful view over the lake, Aussenalster. The room was clean and modern. Workout facilities are ok, but nothing special (and without any windows/view). The bar at the top floor is very nice.
Spending three nights in Hamburg recently and staying in this wonderful boutique hotel by the lake. The duplex suit that I was staying is not huge but extremely functional and nicely decorated. The full length lake view from the suite is immaculate! Breakfast at the top floor restaurant again is full comprehensive and with gorgeous lake view. Overall, the front desk and concierge service is first class. The hotel is also within walking distance to the town and shopping centre as well. A first choice in Hamburg!
I think it is one of the Best hotel in the city. This kind of Hotel, that when you leave you never forget. This hotel offers a pleasant setting, with a bar and restaurant on the top floor offering a beautiful view of the city. The spa and the pool are also a success, not to mention the breakfast and the welcoming offered by the staff.
This is a modern and classy hotel right on the lake front. Easy access to the lake for sight seeing and running. Amazing restaurant on the top floor which is used to serve a very nice buffet breakfast in the morning and has a fantastic menu in the evening with great sunset views over the lake. Pool area is nice if a little small. Hotel stay includes free access to pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room in the spa area. Rooms are large, fresh and clean. There is parking under the hotel, turn right directly after the hotel and then immediately right again to access the underground parking. You'll need to get a pass from front desk to exit.
The hotel is fantastic, my husband and I have being there and just love it. Nice design and great atmosphere. This time we chose to book through a third part and it was a mistake on the reservation. Room was charged but non show up due to the mistake. Trying to rebook but so far unsuccessfully answers; waiting for a call back from manager .. Hopefully we can rewrite this review with a happy end :)
