Arrived one day late because Queen Mary 2 was unable to dock because of storm. Staff was excellent. Location is across the street from train station which allowed to take many day trips by train. Room was very clean. Many places to eat at train station and lovely restaurants on same street. Airport 25 minutes away by train.

The layout of the hotel can be a little confusing but the rooms are nice and clean. There were some renovations being done during our stay but we were not affected by the noise. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. You are right across the street from the train station. The hotel is close to many restaurants. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We booked this hotel because of its convenient location. We took the airport train to the central station. When we excited to the main road, the hotel was right across the street. It was a long German day when we arrived and sunset was at 9pm. The staff was not too friendly. I heard that this was normal in this country. The room was clean and had good size. We were given a lower floor room in the front of the hotel. The windows were large and noise was heard from the merry making of the locals enjoying the end of another work week. The noise from the bars dissipated as the night came. We had a very early train day trip to Berlin the next day. We simply had to cross the street to get to our platform. An added note: the old town where the tourist attractions are located are about 10 minutes away by foot. The same is true with the lake. The hotel also provided free public transport passes. There are also other hotels near the vicinity. Fuerst Bismarck worked just fine for us first time Hamburg visitors.

My wife and I stayed for a first-time visit to Hamburg. Couldn't ask for a better location across the street from the train station. Couldn't ask for a nicer hotel and staff. Breakfast buffet was marvelous (albeit a little on the expensive side). We were lucky that our room was on the back side of the hotel - away from the noise of the busy street. Absolutely quiet - never heard a sound. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have stayed here 4 times now and like this property very much. It is extremely close to the main train station (HBF) and very close to great restaurants and shopping. The breakfast also has everything you need to start the day. On this particular stay the wing I was staying in was undergoing painting but the management was extremely professional and offered a discount. Hence I will be staying at this hotel again in my future visits to Hamburg and cannot recommend it more.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Hamburg and the accommodations definitely met our expectations. The location is excellent and quite convenient to all the major sights. A major advantage of staying here is the proximity to the train station and the complementary 2 day transit pass, which we also used to get to the airport on the S-Bahn subway. The breakfast offered by the hotel was quite pricey so we found good breakfasts at two nearby restaurants, Westwind and Mutterland.

I was looking for a place close to the main station at a reasonable rate so that I could grab an early morning train. When I arrived I was totally surprised as this was a great hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. They had all the amenities. The staff were friendly and the breakfast plentiful. The best bit, your guest card also gives you unlimited access to the public transport network for a few days. Can highly recommend.

Excellent breakfast buffet with friendly service in cosy rooms, In the rooms you are treated to free Mineral water and some sweets, modern bath.- rooms and tv sets with Teletext Only disadvantage: insufficient lift

I really like this hotel! It has a very good location, just across the street from the Hauptbahnhof. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the hotel has a nice, slightly old-fashioned atmosphere. A free travel card for the public transportation (HVV) is included in the price, which makes the stay here good value for money. However, breakfast is not included in the price, but that's just an advantage, since it is possible to save money by having a cheaper breakfast somewhere else (for instance at the Hauptbahnhof). I have stayed here twice - once in a room with a very nice view to the Hachmannplatz / Hauptbahnhof, once in a room to the backyard - and I'll definitely come back.

You'd stay here for the location which is 30 seconds from the Central station. You'd stay near Central station because it's easy and a direct train to the airport (the hotel gives you free public transport tickets during your stay which include a train to hotel), and not necessarily for its desirability. There are a lot of homeless, drug dealers and prostitutes in Hamburg and a lot of them are within minutes of the hotel. The hotel is clean and efficient as you expect a German hotel to be. I booked a single and certainly got a single. It was tiny. It had everything I needed except air con and imagine on hot days it would be very uncomfortable and airless. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the shower worked well, although if you're anything over an average build I have literally no idea how you'd fit in it. Only a couple of English channels on TV which is always annoying if not the end of the world when you're on holiday. Wifi is very good though. Can stream video with no issues. Staff have the typical German efficient but lack any real warmth or welcoming personality. The hotel is a bit of a maze so if you have mobility issues you should ask for a room on the reception side of the hotel otherwise be prepared for a mini marathon to get to your room So overall it's a functional and clean hotel in a central location that is 'fine' for a night or two
