To be honest, if I could, I would give this hotel 3.5 stars. The hotel is clean and has everything that you might need (decent breakfast spread; nice swimming pool, well-equipped gym; sauna etc.). The staff were mostly helpful (I was busy the few weeks before my stay and concierge made a very good suggestion/reservation for a nice restaurant which helped me out a lot). There is also access to an Executive Lounge which is fine - light snacks available and also soft drinks, wine and beer (although this sometimes ran out; I asked one of the staff if there was any more wine, to which the response was simply "no"!). For me, the big issue with this hotel is that it feels too dated - the room amenities and decor feel 20-30 years old with little or no modernisation. Could do with some care and attention to bring it up to date. Fine for work stay but wouldn't stay here for a leisure trip.
Good placed hotel in the city. Can be used for families as well as,if you travel with animals. But for this price, can be found more fresh renovated Hotel. But if you want to be in the middle of city,it’s perfect. This hotel is chain of American hotel group and they have no Coca-cola,instead Pepsi is offered.Comfortable with car.Very tasty kitchen and good staff.
But not more. The location of the hotel is very good. Short walk to Metro or shopping areas. The hotel is in a good shape. Nothing really very negative, beside that it looked to me a bit old fashioned, but that may typical to Marriotts. The lounge is small and has limited offered. For a quick bite sufficient but not more. The breakfast was very nice. It is located in a separate restaurant. The space is limited, but I was lucky to get a seat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a very good hotel in ha,burg. But for the price I could consider other hotels in the same area. But I would go back, as nothing was bad or wrong.
I live in Miami. I stayed here while traveling for work. To start with, the hotel is centrally located close to great shopping (BCBG, Ralph Lauren, LaPerla etc.). If you are interested in running, there is a large body of water that you are able to run around. I ran every morning at 5 am and I felt perfectly safe. There are people about at all hours. The city is clean, the architecture is wonderful; a mix of old and new, and the people of Hamburg are helpful to visitors. The hotel staff are friendly and professional, the hotel has great food, drinks, and dessert. There are a lot of business travelers at this hotel and it is safe and secure. I enjoyed my 8 day stay here.
This is a good hotel, but has some flaws. It looks quite old and not quite up to the standard you expect for a Marriott. The executive lounge is nice enough, but very small. The leisure facilities are a bit lacking too. Basic pool and separate male and female saunas which isn’t the best when you go as a couple! All in all I enjoyed our stay, but not the best Marriott I have stayed in by a long shot.
I have been using this hotel weekly for the last 8 months while working in Hamburg. The hotel is very central in Hamburg. This is good during day as all main shops are within 10 min walk but it is fairly quite after 6pm once shops close. There are a number of tube stations within 5 mins walk. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are very good and all very helpful. The rooms are clean if somewhat old fashioned and could do with a makeover. The food is typical hotel feed and very neutral. The executive lounge is good but only has beer wine and soft drinks. Overall a good hotel in a very good central location
We stayed there for 2 nights and had a very good experience. The staff is very efficient and helpful, chek-in and out is very fast. The room was very spacey and clean. The bed was perfect ! The best location to my mind, in a quiet street, and still very near to all public transports. We'll be back !
Stayed here for 4 nights during a recent business trip. Platinum status recognized at check-in and was given a room upgrade. Executive lounge has a nice little breakfast and wine/beer/apps at happy hour. Meeting space was adequate with break/snacks/drinks plentiful during the breaks. Highly recommend
The hotel is clean and nice. Staff are very accommodating. i only stated one night so my impressions were made by my room and my breakfast. The room was nice, the breakfast was flavorless. I gave it three because I am taking into account my very short stay and understanding that they may have just had a bad day in the kitchen. Otherwise the accommodations were good. I would stay here again to give the food another chance and possibly re-review the hotel.
This is a fine example of a good Marriott property. Staff was efficient at check in and check out. They provided directions and restaurant recommendations. Rooms were spotless and the toiletries were much better than some of their competitors. It’s a short walk from the S-Bahn (if you you know the way). I intend to return here next time business takes me to Hamburg
