Excellent hotel, great value for Hamburg. Bright, comfortable room. Well laid out bathroom. Excellent shower, though the see through window into the bedroom means best not be shy. Couldn't get the aircon to work, but that was probably me not understanding the instructions. Room service was quick, burger was excellent. The only thing I'd advise is to have maybe one English speaking movie channel, or ability to plug in smart phone USB to watch favourite Netflix series for those quiet times working in the room. I'm staying there again.
Stayed here for two nights for 220 euros a night would have expected much better service form staff. Hotel is a design statement rather than comfortable . Food in restaurant was very very mediocre. Breakfast not included in the price. We were told
Fantastic location, walking distance to everything. Very nice hotel, great breakfast, nice rooms... only good things to say. I would stay here again next time. There is parking fascility if you arrive by car.
this is the first time to stay in Barcelo Hamburg and it is a good location hotel with excellent breakfast. The bed is comfortable as well and staff are so kindly. we will intend to stay again next time.
Booked a trip to Hamburg for my partner's birthday and had a lovely stay. The hotel is located centrally by the bottom of the lake. The rooms are modern with a great bathroom and huge bed. Nice welcome chocolate on arrival. Wi-fi worked fine and although the gym is small, I was the only one using it each morning and was fine for what I needed. Staff were friendly, helpful and easy going and were happy to look after our bags on our last day. We took the S1 train from the airport, which I recommend. It's a quick 25 mins and it's only €3.30 per person each way - much cheaper than a taxi and the hotel is only a 5 min walk from the station. Overall a great stay. I hadn't informed the hotel is booked for a birthday so we didn't receive anything extra during our stay but that's always at the discretion of hotel management anyway so didn't take away from our trip.
Booked a Deluxe room but very disappointed with the room facilities: 2 teabags, 2 coffee satchels, no milk, no welcoming biscuit. A few items in the fridge, no indication whether they were complimentary. Chipped surfaces. Loved the layout of the room, but let down by having on budget standard items in the room. Only one chair (stained) !! Would have expected a deluxe room to have bathrobe and slippers. When I was in the hotel trade I would enter one of our rooms and think what I would like to see as a guest. The management team in this hotel should come out of the back office and visit one of their own guest rooms.
Although i had a nice stay but i have been robbed at my last day. Someone took my money from my room & till now the only answer from hotel management was nothing strange been discovered. Bad experience for me & i will ask my company to not use this hotel again.
8 minutes walk from Hamburg Central railway station (we timed it with cases) in a quiet location within the business district. Has everything you could want rooms have all facilities though quantities of tea coffee etc limited. Reception staff efficient and friendly nothing is too much trouble. Ate and drank in the ground floor restaurant, good tapas and the Barcelo burger is a meat feast. Overall a four star hotel at the top of its game.
I did not find that the hotel lieved up to my expectations. I stayed in a deluxe room, but found it below average. Also the fitness room, is a cardio room, with three machines, and the treadmill did not work, and the handle on the crosstrainer was broken.. below average
Good modern property. The location is excellent - almost everything of interest is in walking distance. Rooms are normal size, well equipped - good comfortable beds and very clean. This is a business hotel; very helpful front-desk. Generally friendly and knowledgeable staff.- Breakfast is varied and of good quality, but gets a bit it boring after four/five days. Staff were over-eager to clean away plates the moment you looked away. Found after visit to buffet to pick up bread - plate with other food was gone and had to start all over again. However, the intentions were good. It is i easy to walk to St Paulie; harbour city and all the other sites. Some good restaurants nearby - the same applies to shopping..
