The local café and farm shop offer great seasonal fresh produce.



The nearby traditional market town of Halstead is a 9 minutes’ drive. Here you will find a 500-year old coaching inn, medieval churches, many independent shops, cafés, butchers, bakers, restaurants and a theatre. The River Colne runs through the heart of the town, where you can enjoy a beautiful walk alongside the river, and the park, with its bandstand still used for (seasonal summer) afternoon music events and host to a summer and Christmas Fayre, with a seasonal torch light procession with carol singing – all welcome! Walkers, cyclists, fishing and golfing enthusiasts - be sure to pack your sporting equipment and enjoy the local trails, footpaths, quiet lanes, fishing lakes and golf courses near-by. Colchester castle, zoo and Clair Country Park and castle are 30 minutes’ drive. Hedingham Castle and Freeport Braintree, a must for all shopaholics, just 15 minutes’ drive.
