We booked this hotel for a short one night stay. The location of this hotel is very good, very near to the Charleroi Sud station, just a few minutes walk. The reception area of the hotel is humble but the room was quite good, even though a little bit small. As I had booked the room for a very short stay, I didn't pay much attention to the facilities while booking, but I was happy to see it had most of the basic stuff like tea-coffee maker, bath tub, toiletries, locker, hair dryer etc. Had a good TV also but no useful English channels. I liked the bed in particular, it was quite comfy and also the shower was quite good. The room and the bathroom was overall modern looking (except the toilet seat! :P ). Another thing to point out is that the lift has key card system, so it will only work if you have a key to one of their rooms, having read some concerning post about night safety in Brussels I think this feature is good from safety point of view as well. The only thing I didn't like about the place is their description of the property on some sites including Booking.com from where I booked it as well, is that it mentions to have an airport shuttle which is not true. As, when I asked them about the shuttle, they simply told me about some taxi options and the local bus that runs from the airport to the station nearby plus you still have to walk 5-8 mins. You cannot call the public transport as your airport shuttle! This is completely misleading and they should remove this shuttle facility from their description. Other than this, I think the rooms are quite good for one to few nights stay.
The rooms were very basic which was fair enough for what you paid. At the end of our stay we thought the breakfast was included, it was not, we didn’t mind to pay but they wanted €55 for the both of us, there was only croissants and juice there, when complaining the man at the desk started to shout at me and being very rude. Everyone at the reception desk were very bland with us and it was like they couldn’t be bothered. Alot of people in Charleroi saw it fustrating that we didnt speak French and that they had to explain in English to us, even though we tried to make an effort fo speak it. Besides this the bars and coffe shops were nice and the train station is a 10 minute walk. But if you’re young it itsnt the best place for night life! :)
The rooms were very old and not maintained very well. The room didn't smell good and the walls were very thin. I could even hear what my neighbours were talking about. I was on the 6th floor and I still woke up in the middle of the nicht because of the noise on the street. On the pictures it seems that there is enough choice for breakfast. In reality we couldn't even have a baguette at 9 o'clock on a saturday morning. Choices were very limited and the buffet was not looking very attractive. The woman who was responsible for the breakfast was not friendly at all! This was definitely not worth the price. I would not recommend this hotel. There are other hotels in the neigbourhood that offer a much better service at comparable prices.
Close to the train station and to the city center, this hotel is very nice and clean. The rooms are quite large, comfortable and quiet. The receptionist wasn't much kind, but still efficient. Ideal for a one-night experience.
For a moderate budget hotel I was very pleased. The room was very spacious (I had booked a single but it seems the hotel wasn't too full and the front desk very graciously put me in a nicer room). The front desk staff were all very friendly. I didn't take the hotel breakfast but there is a hot water kettle and coffee in the room. There is also what I thought was a mini-fridge but it doesn't cool - it is more of an insulator. However the front desk staff said I could leave refrigerated items in the refrigerator near the front desk - very nice!! The hotel is just a 3 minute walk from the new shopping mall and located on one end of a main shopping street. It is just a 10 minute walk from the main train station. Rooms are quiet. Internet cut out a couple of times but was mostly strong. Room had a nice working/desk area While not a 5 star hotel I am happy to give it a 5 star rating for a truly enjoyable stay.
Nice location close to main street and to railway station (10 min) Close to shopping centre Clean hotel with coffee and tea faciities in the room (there is a kettle). Friendly staff Open 24 hours very convinient for late arrivals. Minor disadvantage the small size of beds in some rooms,
Arrived here after a late flight into Belgium, easy enough to find with gps and the huge sign. Checked into what we thought was 2 twin bedded rooms only to find they only had double beds in them. A bit difficult with 4 staff over 2 sexes. We returned to reception and were told that only one family room was available and no twins. This then meant the 2 female staff had to share with one of the males, not acceptable really but nothing we could do so late in the evening. Rooms were clean but very dated. Comfy enough but nothing special.
We had to stay a night u expectedly due to canceled flight. It was honestly the first hotel we contacted and luckily they had a room for us. Staff was very friendly and quick to help. The breakfast was very basic and overpriced but it beats having to go into the city center, which feels very unsafe and not pleasant to walk in. All in all, the room was okay for one night and the bed was comfortable enough.
Was good location close to the railway station only 19 minute walk right in the center so plenty of things to do and o my 20 euro taxi trip to the airport the room was basic bathroom was clean but he room itself wasn't great
When visiting Brussels, me and my boyfriend had to stay a night in Charleroi, since we arrived to the airport there pretty late and didn't have an option to go directly to Brussels. The hotel is very good with a reasonable price, very close to both, the railway station and the city center, the rooms are spacious and nice. So from our experience, if you don't feel like travelling to Brussels late at night, Leonardo hotel is a good choice.
