Hotel Lido Mons Centre4.0 out of 5.0

Stayed at Hotel Lido for a week for work. Hotel is average, nothing special. Hallways are dark, which I found weird, and hotel room itself while clean, isn't anything special. Not A/C is standard rooms. Fitness center is outdated, no elliptical machine, but does have one working treadmill, a couple bikes, a few free weights and a couple weight machines. Did laundry, which was expensive, but needed done so I paid the price! Breakfast was mediocre, but most buffets are. Good location to the Grand Place and friendly staff.
Friendly staff at reception, that speaks English, French and Dutch, great. Had a room at the back, woke up early due to the noise: sounded as if someone landed a chopper in the backyard. Headed downstairs for breakfast, which was rather disappointing. Croissants that were gummy, no French cheese, ugly coffee from a machine. I'm sorry, but I'm not going back.
The hotel is perfectly located downtown. It's a short walk to central plaza where you can find food, drinks and anything else you'd like. The garage parking is very tight but manageable. The breakfast had something for everyone and the front desk staff were super helpful. The only thing I would complain about would be the road noise outside of my room. Had I kept my window closed, it would have been manageable but it was a little warm. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
Visiting a supplier in the Mons area who booked this hotel. Overall the hotel is nice and clean offering an OK breakfast. But rating this as a 4* is definitely 1* to much. Rooms have no AC, unless you specifically have pre booked the business rooms and with 25C outside - you're in a sauna.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Our room was not ready when we arrived but we were offered to wait for the approximately 20 minutes in the lobby. We decided to take the short walk into the town. Mons centre is a relatively small town centre, but the hotel seems mor like the sort of hotel you would get in a larger city. The room was very clean and spacious. In many respects it was like an Ibis or Campanile hotel room. Breakfast was stunning with a very expansive range and very good quality. The hotel had an underground car park with good sized spaces which was refreshing for my larger car! The entrance to and from the car park is steep and narrow, but as noted my larger car managed ok.
The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes walking distance from the Grand Place. I have been there already several times and I definitely recommend it for the friendly staff who speaks English, for clean and comfortable rooms, beds and services. WIFI is provided free of charge. This time I did not have breakfast in the hotel but generally they offer a very good international breakfast. The only disadvantage is the very narrow garage which requires a lot of patience and maneuvers with big cars and if the best spots are taken.
The hotel is located downtown, away from crowdy places, a few hundreds meters from city central square. Personnel is very kind, breakfast just perfect. A sauna area is available on the top floor. Only drawback pertains to AC. Many rooms are not equipped, making it difficult to fight back the heat with only the in-house electrical fan.
PLUS: 1) kind reception staff 2) good location, just 5min straight walk to city square 3) above good breakfast (tasty and fresh bread & baguettes) 4) above good level of daily cleaning 5) available street parking around the hotel CONS: 1) Slight noise from the street, but I was able to sleep properly (individual factor) 2) few wifi connection failures, weak signal for smartphones (laptop signal is OK)
When you walk to the hotel from the central train station, you could be a little bit surprised while passing by the county prison and some huge brick-made houses. But the hotel is indeed very well placed. Nothing negative to say about the quality of my room. It was clean and large. Wifi was included in the price, and I found all types of TV-channels. Breakfast was also absolutely nice, as well as staffers working there. I didn't check if there was any parking place for cars. No luxury around the hotel, but several opened places at night where you can grab good French fries.. I mean Belgian fries ;-)
Well located (5 min. walk from the Grand Place) lucturious hotel. Good condition stuff inside rooms. Delicious breakfasts with various products. One minus: creazy, very streep and narrow entrance to the garage.
