Have stayed here for 4-5 times. Excellent location for business purpose, good service and very good food. Go for food at restaurants in the hotel rather than room service On a normal day, it takes 45 mins from the airport. On holidays it can take 20mins max. Breakfast spread is good and better than most of the nearby restaurants
I arrived at the Westin travel tired after 15hr journey. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and always happy and cheerful. After a couple of days I was being greeted by name and had actual conversations and not just a "how was your day" type greeting. I fully recommend this Hotel for a great stay whether for business or pleasure. Whether the reception staff welcoming you after a long day or the waiters recommending choices for breakfast couldn't have asked for more. I am returning for two weeks in April and already looking forward to seeing the staff and enjoying another stay.
Booked this hotel for a business trip. Did not have too high an expectation given the experience I had with other Westin hotels. It was surprising that the service at Westin Dhaka was way way better. The staff all spoke very good English, their service attitude was top notch, and they delivered their best to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were kept clean although they are turning a bit dated. On one day, when the bottled water was not replenished, I called the Service Express hotline and immediately the Housekeeping staff delivered 4 bottles and asked if I needed more. At the concierge, the staff assisted daily with calling our company driver, and kept a look out for the car. While waiting, the staff were friendly and asked if everything was ok with the rooms and whether there was anything else needed. All in all, the experience was great, and would recommend this hotel for business here in Dhaka.
Likes: - Good Internet access - Very nice bathroom - High sleep quality Dislikes: - Way too expensive - Smelly air conditioning, especially in the corridors but also in my guest room - Food is average, but carries a price tag that suggests a lot more - Many staff members struggle with the English language.
The hospitality extend by the staff spcially by Mim & Mahi were commendable. Hoping to visit again to your hotel in the future. Mim always supported during the meal times. She is always keeping a smile on her face and helped.
This restaurant was an awesome one with lots of variety of foods. Other than that the services delivered by the service people over there specially by " Mim & Mahi" was most fabulous. Best of luck. Thank you very much for everything..
For the people whoa re visiting Dhaka for their official purpose around Gulshan area, The Westin Dhaka is the best place. Tariff is bit higher comparing with the other 5* hotels but the location is worth it.
Westin Dhaka was renowned for its deserts and my last visit was a fascinating experience but the recent encounter left a lot to be desired. While the buffet lunch was good it was not above average. It was very pricey and despite calling in early they did not ask me to bring 3 eligible cards to get buy one get one offer on 31st December. Instead they did not correctly answer the question and surprised me with a massive bill. They had only waived one guest's charge and charged us for 6 guests. The current standards have dropped to the point that we regretted not going to Amari's deal. Given how we also lived in the area (Gulshan) we could have easily sent the chauffeur to get the other eligible cards and save twice as much as we did. Food was reasonable but nothing out of the ordinary. It used to be so much better though.
