Harris Vacations is wonderfully responsive. I would absolutely stay in one of their homes again. The house is away from the crowds, so the beach was clear and so enjoyable compared to prior visits to the Orange Beach area when we’ve had people right by us at the beach. The house is fine, although functionally it doesn’t make a lot of sense. The downstairs bathroom has a big bathtub, but if you need to shower the shower curtain sucks in on you. There’s also nowhere to stick your soap. Just doesn’t seem well thought out, but since the house was redone by HGTV, it makes sense that it looks better than it functions. The upstairs is quite hot, although box fans are provided and were definitely necessary. The bathroom by the 3 twin bed room is in rough shape. We ended up contacting the host because we couldn’t get the shower going, but they came quickly and showed us how to get it to work. Overall, these were minor issues and we were happy with our visit. You can’t beat the location!

Windy but relaxing

Stay was good. There was long black hair on the shower wall in the upstairs bathroom. The downstairs shower was not convenient for older individuals due to having to step into a high tub. They had to go upstairs and use the shower. Overall the trip was good.

Like Putting Lipstick On A Pig

The home was apparently condemned prior to the HGTV renovation. While the home and design choices were awesome on TV; reality is different. Very poor workmanship and very uncomfortable furniture. Little to no insulation, which makes for an uncomfortable stay. Obviously poor air conditioning, since there was a window unit added in 1 bedroom and box fans in all the rest. It was cool outside while we were there , so the rooms were very cold and very drafty. Looking under 1 of the bathroom sinks, in the coldest bedroom, a 6x12 opening into the attic was found blowing in cold air. We had to shove pillows in the hole to stop the draft. The beautiful soaking tub leaks water and drains into the closet floor. The master bedroom sliding barn door to the bathroom is installed incorrectly and leaves a 6” gap with a view directly at the commode, which renders zero privacy. Would I stay here again, absolutely not. Would I recommend this house to others, again the answer would be no.

Relaxing vacation

Overall, this was a very relaxing vacation! My only complaint is that the primary bedroom mattress needs to be replaced desperately. It’s very worn out for I am assuming it gets the most usage, considering this is the only bedroom that has an attached bathroom. This cottage was very well equipped with all kitchen supplies, which was nice when entertaining friends. There was not liquid hand soap provided in the bathrooms so you will have to purchase that on your own. They did provide little hard, hand soaps, but I don’t think anyone likes those. You will also need to provide and bring your own hangers because there is not much dresser or storage space for your clothes. Having the pool right next-door to the cottage was wonderful! It’s actually very hard to find a house on the beach that has a pool! I would definitely recommend this house for a great family getaway, but beware of that mattress in the primary room. I spent over $9,000 for a six night stay here so they should have plenty of money to replace that mattress. A few quick facts for people choosing a vacation spot : this is a dog friendly cottage, so you are able to bring your pet . You are also able to walk your pet on the beach due to the fact, this is a private beach! If your family likes to fish, you are also able to fish right off the shoreline. It’s very rare to find a place where you can bring your dog walk them on the beach and fish right from the shore. To me, this makes the spot a win-win!

Great Home in a Great Location

Overall - the property is excellent. It is clean, updated, great layout, and right on the beach. The small private pool shared by the other few adjacent homes was convenient and also clean. The only issue we experienced was noisy neighbors blasting club music the entire day, but that is more bad luck than anything. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Fort Morgan.

Less than expected

The photos of the property are no where near current. It was a beautiful property but hasn’t been kept up really at all. We sent numerous pictures of things that were broken and thankfully I read a previous review about the pillows being flat as pancakes. The bed mattresses were the worst I have ever slept on in all my travels. This area of the country is gorgeous and we will be back but not here unfortunately.

Great vacation place!

This was our first time to the Gulf and we couldn't have been happier with the house, the beach access, the pool, and the location. Everything was amazing! If you're looking for a great place to get away from it all, this is the place for you. It was amazingly peaceful and relaxing! Thanks for allowing us to stay and for the great memories! Note for Management. Hello Mrs. Criss, We here at Harris Properties love hearing the feedback and about the wonderful memories you and your family made during your stay. We are glad to hear that you had an amazing time during your stay at Wings of Eagles. We hope to host you and your family again soon.

Best vacaton ever!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wings of Eagles! The house was 'spic n span' clean when we arrived and cute as can be and had everything we needed except groceries. We were looking for a place that was away from the high rises and heavily populated areas of gated communities with our own semi-private beach with an unobstructed view of the Gulf. Wings of Eagles was very comfortable for our family of 8. We will definitely be back.
