Great room! Vacasa not so much
Loved the room.
Ground floor, close to everything, pools, Sassy Bass, beach...
Backdoor keypad lock did not work so we had to leave unlocked to use. (not a problem, people there are very honest. Ice machine always had possibly hundreds of dollars in the honor pay box.)
Supposed to have 2 wristbands and a card to use indoor pool, hottubs, sauna, gym...
Had no wristbands and access card did not work for indoor pool or anywhere.
Called and txtd vacasa about both problems, never fixed either one.
After a bit they just stopped responding.
We did get people inside to let us in a couple times.
Still great vacation!
Probably won't be using vacasa in future though.

Returning visit
This is our second year staying at this property. We have enjoyed it. The short walk to the beach and pool without having to access the elevator is wonderful! The condo itself has been updated for the most part. The master shower could use a good deep cleaning and the tub in the guest room doesn’t drain very well. We did have to place a service call for a different issue and they were very quick to respond.

Overall Experience was wonderful, minor issues
Our overall experience was great! We weren’t sure if we were going to enjoy it as much because there is no balcony, just a walk out patio, but it worked out for the better. The location of the unit was wonderful for our large group and small children. We did not have to mess with the elevator or the stairs. The living room has been painted and has new furniture from when the pictures were made, its much nicer than the old pictures make it look. We ate at the sassy bass when we arrived and the food was wonderful (usually is). There were some minor issues (none of which affected our trip) but all the reviews I read were pretty much spot on. The front door does lock but the door and frame both look bent and have a small gap so the hot air come in and when it rains it sounds like a faucet is turned on even though the door is shut. The glass insert in the back screen door had a bent frame so we ended up taking it out because it kept banging because of the wind. The screen door also slams if you don’t close it yourself. The big door also appears to have a gap and the wind squeals through it. Also, the shower in the master bathroom needs some attention. The over head shower head works but not properly, the hand held part works if you hold it (the clip on the wall doesn’t stay up) and the jets looked moldy. The toilet paper holder also needs replaced, it was hanging off the wall when we arrived. The dryer didn’t work very well and we ended up drying at the laundry room. As many reviews that said the dryer didn’t work I would have thought the problem would have been resolved but we talked to our neighbors and they were having similar dryer issues so maybe it’s an outside vent. This is our 4th year renting a condo at the Gulf Shores Plantation and it has always been clean, this time however there was all sorts of litter in the grass even though there are some outdoor trash cans. We will be back and most likely will book the unit in the future.

Ummmmm
This unit desperately needs attention. Only 1 person could get hot water. Dryer did not work properly. Needed a thorough deep cleaning. The door knob got fixed while there, but door still didn’t close. Vasco responded to electrical issues.

Not worth the money
The condo needs some maintenance. One of the doors didn't shut all the way. Toilet constantly running. Water coming in on the floor under the door from the rain. We paid a hefty cleaning fee and it looks like all they do is a little spot cleaning before you get there. There was grime all over in corners of floor on ceiling in the showers. The condo was big and would have been a lot nicer if it was deep cleaned and maintained. Not worth the money.

Family Fun @ Paradise Dunes
For the the most part of our stay, our family had a good experience.
Downfalls, we thought we had a balcony view but didn’t and the front door broke and we lost several hours of beach time waiting for maintenance.

Family fun!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the place had anything and everything you need to make an awesome beach and family fun experience. We had a small dryer issue because of outside construction work, and maintenance came and fixed the problem the next day. We did have an issue with people dumping some liquid off of their balcony, and it got on 2 of my family members, stained the concrete and a few drops on the outside furniture. The people just laughed. Thankfully, we were not in good clothes. Couldn’t be water because it stained like grease. Could have been hot!
Then the next day we caught someone else trying to dump something over the side. It’s not the owner or management’s fault, and I did report it, but it just makes me sad that people are not considerate of others nor property. Just be aware! I would hope since the place has cameras that they would address these people and let them know it’s not acceptable. Could happen anywhere! Maybe rollout awnings would help resolve that issue.
We did have an awesome time and would love to go back. The beach was beautiful as well.
Pool closed one day without notice or
reason. Noting time it would reopen would help parents with children plan their day accordingly.

A little effort would go a long way...
First, the location is probably one of the best in regards to door to beach, door to pool access I've ever had and I've been to the Gulf 25+ times.
But, there are several concerns. I don't like to leave negative reviews but perhaps addressing these issues will help, so that is the intent. We pulled onto the property at 3:30, 4:00 was the guaranteed check in time. Granted, I've arrived slightly early many of the times I've visited the Gulf and have been able to get in a little early, but 4:00 is the TIME so I'm understanding. The problem was that the kind gentleman at the desk said they hadn't cleaned the room yet when I stepped at the desk at 3:35. Fair enough...after a few phone calls here and there, he said they were on it and that I could drive around and he'd give me a call. After driving from KY and then the 14-15 miles down Ft. Morgan Road (which I don't mind at all) the last thing I wanted to do at the time was drive around some more. We sat in the parking lot waiting and at 4:16 got the call that the room was ready. I didn't complain at the time because I wanted to get into my room and maybe someone will think this is nitpicking, but I think its pretty bad customer service. And how clean did the condo REALLY get???
After receiving directions on how to get to our room, it was never mentioned that construction was taking place in the area we were directed to go. There are two doors to the room, but we were given directions to the wrong door, luggage in hand. Again, 10 hours in a car, now this, not looking good.
Speaking of the doors, they need some work. Rusty around the metal and dry rot around the frame. People like the 'peace of mind' feeling from a strong secure door. I didn't have it all week.
Additionally, there were three confirmed roach stompings in three different areas of the condo. These suckers were 2-3 inches long. Bugs don't bother me, but I'm sure somebody reading this might get a little uncomfortable thinking about roaches crawling around the floor where luggage lay and where one of the kid beds sit, close to the ground. If not, that's fine but my wife and daughter didn't care for them and they were the first to see them so that is enough for me. Maybe secure doors would fix part of that.
Lastly, there was ceiling leak in the master bathroom and every time the floor above flushed you could hear drop, drop, drop and see a stained wet ceiling. Better fix!
Address these and its 4-5 stars all the way.

Wonderful Stay Over Spring Break 2019
Our family of 4 traveled by car from Wisconsin to Alabama for Spring Break 2019. Before reaching the Gulf Coast, we stopped in Huntsville and stayed at the Doubletree and ate supper at diners-drive ins-and-dives’ recommended “Metro 29 Diner”. Excellent food and service! The following morning we headed to the space & rocket museum in Huntsville where we spent the entire day. (If you’re driving, download the “DDD” app - it takes the guessing out of where to stop for great food along the way.)
Plantation Dunes is very easy to find and has great access to the white sand beach. Though we did not use them, the condo provides beach chairs, boogie boards, kites, fishing poles, etc., so no need to pack all that stuff.
The condo was perfect for our small family and would be able to fit many more people if needed. We especially liked the ground floor access.
We ventured out here and there during our 5-night stay to Flora-Bama, USS Alabama, the Hangout, Orange Beach, watched fishermen on the pier, Felix’s in Mobile for oysters, SasseBass Caribbean Grill, beaching, and hanging out at the front porch of the condo. The kids had a great time in the pool and in the gulf, throwing the football on the beach and just hanging out.
I’d recommend watching a few beautiful Gulf Coast sunrises by walking east past the tall condo building. As to sunsets, head west in Fort Morgan to Tacky Jack’s 2. You won’t be disappointed. Day-walking toward the west is great as well. Fun to see such a variety of cool homes!
This was our first time to the Gulf Shores area and we loved it!
