The hotel was clean with all the amenities, and the breakfast was excellent. They offered several activities, I took part in the fruit and vegetable carving class, which was great. What really makes it special is the staff - they are very kind and make you feel welcome from the start. Mark was very attentive. My only suggestion would be to add a curtain that would allow light to come in while allowing for some privacy. The room had only a black-out curtain. However, I must say the view from my room was spectacular.
This hotel was just perfect, clean and modern with super friendly and helpful staff, such a relaxing holiday away from the usual tourist spots, will definitely recommend to friends an look forward to staying again😀
We chose this resort for our stay in Koh Samui just for the ocean view room. It was a stunning suite with a private pool and gazeebo. The room has direct view of the ocean which is stunning. I have to say the room looks exactly like what is shown in the pictures, no surprises. The staff was very polite and even prepared a private beach side dinner for us which I would say was the high point of our stay here. The pool is great with a pool bar. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the beach. It's a rocky beach so you can't really do much except for relaxing.
I stayed 5 days in resort. And that was a frist time at samui, their staff is really friendly and had a warm smile . My room near pool and also had jacuzzi that is amazing .One of impressive me is the other customers also very nice, that mean this resort had high quality. Will come again!
The hotel is very very quiet. You can find no more than 10 people on the beach--almost a private beach where you can enjoy wonderful sunset every evening! As I have specified when booking that my trip is for honey moon, the hotel was so considerate that they made up the bed with flowers and leaves writing "Happy Honey Moon" which gave us a surprise when entering the room. The staff also put different special handmade palm leaf creation everyday on your bed when you have dinner by the beach. Probably because of the location is far from the noisy crowd, the hotel provides many lessons, such as Thai boxing and Thai language. I picked up the Thai and I was the only student.
We stayed here for a wedding that was being held next door at Intercontinental Hotel for a fraction of the price. The big comfortable rooms were very comparable to next door. We stayed on second floor room, with spa bath, shower, double sink, free WIFI, free bottled water, serviced rooms with plenty of storage, fridge, safe, TV, tea and coffee making in room etc. Our balcony was facing west and had wonderful views over the ocean, of the nearby islands and amazing sunsets. Resort pool with swim up bar, beach frontage, although not so good swimming at very shallow off beach. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly with any request or inquirer and everything was kept immaculate including the beach. Breakfast is amazing selection of large variety of hot and cold food and the fresh fruit juice is addictive. Dinner on beach was very romantic and well done with lights, torches, potted palms, etc they go to so much trouble to make everything so special. The resort is well off the main tourist area but only a short taxi trip to shops, market etc. Suitable for families also. Highly recommend the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa.
The staff here really are excellent. They work as a tight knit unit, get to know all their guests and really deliver the quintessential "Thai smile" experience. The food is really excellent. The beach barbecue was great, lovely poolside offerings, breakfast is very varied for a hotel this size. The only low was the gala meal for Songkran where the food was not really up to par. It had been cooked too long and the spice was far too tempered for "european taste". The rooms were really well thought out, plenty of storage even for people carrying 4 weeks worth of luggage around with them! The bathroom in the garden villa is lovely. Yes, the leaves fall in the bath, and yes, there are mosquitos, but I love brushing my teeth listening to the frogs at either end of the room have a croak off, and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Happy hour is 5-7, buy one get one free on cocktails and beers are 100 thb. The pool is a good depth for swimming with a lovely swim up bar for the aforementioned happy hour! The beach is beautiful. Really very very quiet ( the VIrgin coast is a truly appropriate name for this past of Samui, nothing like Chaweng) and picture perfect. No snorkelling, and swimming is difficult at low tide. You can swim off the pier at the Intercon next door when the tide isn't favourable. Songkran was great fun. There was a proper Thai atmosphere to the celebrations, all the staff brought their young children to swim in the pool and play and water fight. All the guests were made to feel very welcome and a good time was had by all. Lots of loud music, water pistols and pushing people you'd never spoken to before into the pool! This is an aptly named resort. The sunsets really are incredible. Sitting on the beach with a cocktail watching the sun sink into the sea is a perfect moment. Made all the more special by the solitude. Only 21 rooms and seemingly all filled by chilled out, like minded travellers. Struggling to find a weak point to be honest. Go. It's fantastic. If you're weighing it up against the Intercon, stay here. Much more personal, and feels like Thailand, which (when I went for a snoop) the Intercon didn't, just a big hotel that could be anywhere in the world.
After two years we have again visited this hotel and spent a lovely 10 days here. Sunset Beach Resort is located on a very quiet part of the island on the western side surrounded by coconut palms. If you want to have peace and quiet, choose this hotel. We got great service. Food, drinks and massages are absolutely perfect. Breakfast was excellent and the fresh fruit juices were great, there were many kinds of food as global and local. The room was cleaned daily It was good that the entire hotel has free bottled drinking water, as in the rooms, at the pool and on the beach. Swimming pool and beach were always tidy and clean.Absolutely breathtaking are sunsets, which you can watch on the beach and drink cocktails at half price during Happy Hour. Thank you very much to the all staff for excellent service.
This charming resort is located in a secluded part of the island, away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy villages; this was the reason we chose the Sunset, and we were definitely glad we did so. The charming staff, unbeatable sunsets, and peace and tranquillity made our 4-night stay very special indeed. It's not high season now, so we literally found ourselves having a dinner for two by ourselves right on the beach one evening, surrounded by the starry sky and the gentle lapping of sea-waves. We stayed in one of the sunset rooms - highly recommended after a day of loafing by the pool (which was inviting and clean). The staff at reception were always happy to help us get places - and a short taxi ride away we could find ourselves on the main restaurant at and shopping street in Lamai. Nice breakfast selection too. As above, you are not going to be by loads of shops, but there are restaurants (all on the beach) close by. Truly a peaceful hideaway.
We had been there for five days and had an amazing stay. The personnel is extremely friendly efficient and professional. The hotel has atmosphere and is with its 20 rooms more like a little boutique hotel. It is on the beach where you can also have dinner. The included breakfast is splendid, fresh and comes with great friendly service. Much better choice compared to the intercontinental which is next to it.
