My wife and I ended having to stay in Koh Phagnan for one night as our boat to Koh Tao was cancelled due to bad weather. So after checking a few resort I elected to stay at the Milky Bay Resort. Here are a few bullet points : The pros : Excellent reception and waiting staff. They are doing a great job at serving you with a smile. They are not thai, and I fully understand why the owner of the place have hired them. They are just making this place very vibrant and fun to be. It has to be said that Thai staff can't be bothered to achieve the same level of customer satisfaction. These Birman Guys are switched on and can also speak french. The food...is well I do have a big issue with their food....which kinds of ruin the rest of my holiday, because after eating there it will hard to match that sort of quality else where. It was simply to die for. I had the best seafood pizza ever. They know what they are doing on that side. Breakfast is good too. A la carte menu, great coffee. Other than the fact there is no Thai fare, Can't complain. My wife is Thai and had to order from a different menu to be pleased. The little cottage we got was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Make sure you get a superior bungalow vs a room. Much better. The resort itself is calm, pleasant and well appointed. The Cons : Maybe they should take the same pride they do at keeping their resort clean when it comes to their private beach which is simply a disgrace. What a shame. It will take little to no effort in removing all the plastic junk. That could make it such a much better resort if they were putting some effort into it. As a result their final score is 4 out 5 only because of the beach. Anyway, having said that this resort is a little gem which only needs a clean beach.

We stayed here for 1 night in the end of September. The resort is nice enough, with a private beach and restaurant right by it. The standard room we received though was tiny, a very small bungalow. There was not even enough room to open both our suitcases at once and be able to stand. Also, the window was either completely closed, with no light, or completely open, with no net, bringing in mosquitoes, so we chose to stay in the dark (lighting is dim). Furthermore, it felt very unclean, and the adjoining bathroom had open slit holes to the outside that let on a ton of mosquitoes, with no option of closing them. The shower itself is simple a shower head, and you stand on the bathroom floor, by the toilet, and use it there (though the water was hot, and there was good pressure). The general resort feeling is more like hostel, with a lot of young people making a lot of noise all around, a ping pong table and a volleyball net. This is fine if that's what you're looking for, but we wanted more of a hotel. Breakfast is basic but nice, choice between eggs and toast or other basic options. The hotel restaurant has a nice bbq night, and pizza oven. The location is close to a few nice restaurants (shout out to the lovely memories restaurant) and shops, and also relatively close to the half moon party location. Beaches have a narrow sand area, and aren't the most memorable we've seen in Thailand, but at least there is a very beautiful view of the sunset.

We stayed at Milky Bay for 3 nights. It was my second stay here and it’s still as beautiful as I remembered. The resort is set on a stunning beach as well as in a natural woodland-type location. All of the staff (especially Kod) were very helpful and friendly. We had a problem with next door having a fire near our bungalow and they instantly moved us into a much bigger place. The resort offers a free transfer from the ferry pier. Unfortunately, we didn’t spot it on arrival but they gave us a complimentary ride back instead. The food at the restaurant is brilliant and very reasonably priced. It offers different menus throughout the day. We ventured outside to a couple of restaurants nearby but you could easily stay in the resort the whole time. The bar staff also sorted out our Half Moon tickets for us at a cheaper price than if we bought on the door as well as providing UV paint before we went. Many thanks for a great stay!

We spent here 5 days. All the time everywhere was clean area. Every staff was very kind. Restaurant is nice place to relax and offer very good food and drinks in good price. The place is very quiet, so we slept here all the time very good :) The area is full of bamboo and you can walk barefoot everywhere. Thanks for everything Petr & Emily from Czech Republic.

When we arrived at Milky Bay our bags were promptly taken to our room and we were given a cool drink. The receptionist was very nice and informed us that we had been upgraded free of charge from a standard room which was a nice surprise. The room was clean and spacious with a good view looking out to the beach. The whole place is basically on the beach and gives you no reason to leave. The breakfast is amazing and the food for dinner is also very good, we didn't venture out as there wasn't much around outside of the resort. The pool area is clean but could have more sunbeds. All the staff are very pleasant, I would recommend staying here.

Resort in bamboo Forest , the room clean staff very nice. Restaurant on the beach, breakfast can choose in a menu in the evening have BBQ and home made Pizza, restaurant staff friendly, recommend to come here Don't trust me check by yourself it's better

We stayed at the resort for 5 days. The food was so good we resisted eating anywhere else. We ate everything. Grilled snapper fish - perfect. Ribs - to die for. Half a grilled chicken - tender and tasty. Pizza baked in a wood fired oven. Must be the best on the island!! The Thai dishes were perfect. Friendly attentive staff. DO NOT BOTHER eating elsewhere

Stayed in A3 and leaving today. Awesome value for money. Great breakfast on the beach which is 15 yards away. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Scooter or jeep hire available on site (scooter hire £6 per day!) Great beach bars for evening drinks at great price. The beach is clean and tidy and raked every morning. Read some bad reviews but honestly if you are visiting an island like this, and staying in a 3* then don't expect 5*. Great for couples and families. Cannot recommend enough 👌

We only visited the restaurant during our stay in the island. After the first dinner we decided to come back for the second despite the distance from our hotel!!! amazing food and good Price-quality ratio. Fresh fish and delicious meat are offered: you can choose which is your favourite, the staff will perfectly cook it for you! All the staff is really funny and nice. Perfect!!

Very nice resort for families... Take the family villa which is very spacious .. it's not too modern but it's a nice experience for a short time stay. The beach is not too good but it's obviously not their fault. The restaurant is very good with a small selection of Australian wines.. but the waiters could be more attentive Also a plus is that it's only 1 min walk from Family mart and shops.
