As soon as we arrived at the Maryoo we were welcomed by Job & Sheila who spoke very good English they were very friendly & welcoming & helpful. Our rooms were lovely everything we needed with plenty of space & nice views, the rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels & bottles of water provided. The meals at the restaurant were cooked from fresh by the very lovely Bea both Thai & western food which fed my pretty fussy family very well thank you Bea!!! The children used the pool a lot especially after a day of trips, beach or markets & we hired taxi's & mopeds through the hotel at very reasonable prices. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Maryoo & would definitely recommend it we are a family of 7 but also other family members stayed there as well, the staff were excellent & great with our children. The location is not ideal but not a problem to get anywhere & local beach at choeng mon bay was our favourite beach.
I stayed here with my husband - who booked the accommodation for this trip and didn't tell me anything about each place - and we both absolutely loved it. The location is a little out of town but we had a motorbike so it didn't feel very far at all. It's actually nicer in my opinion staying a little outside the centre of Chaweng. There is a yoga retreat next to this hotel which we most definitely were not attending therefore we actually had the place to ourselves most days. We were eating and drinking what we wanted and not really working out so we got to chill by the pool and have our choice of loungers each day while most of the other guests were away working out/eating and drinking clean! The pool was so nice, it's a lovely shape and we actually enjoyed sunbathing whilst lying in the middle where the raised tiles are. Staying nice and cool yet still tanning! Amazing. Our room was beautiful, very big - with a mini kitchen, living area, excellent shower room, large, comfortable bed (with AC pointing directly at it) and a decent balcony. You would struggle to find a room this size in most hotels, especially for the price! We really appreciated the space given that we had some monsoon style rain a few times - so, we got to netflix and chill without feeling any cabin fever or claustrophobia! It was actually a blessing as it meant we really did stop and relax which was needed after a busy time at work! Worth noting that our netflix was accessed via the in room wifi which was free and really good. It disconnected a few times but this was nothing to do with the hotel service, literally just typical Thailand power cuts stuff.. but it reconnected within minutes. We used the wifi throughout the hotel spots - room, pool, breakfast space and it was always good. The breakfast is included with the room here, or was with our booking anyway, and it is really nice. It is freshly cooked and there is a good selection. Usual thai style menu of just general food and no specific food for each meal so, you really can have what you want - meat, veg, rice, eggs etc. There is a good menu of drinks too! The staff were lovely here. They were very helpful and friendly, always with a smile on their face - even when it rained! This was our more budget friendly choice of location, as my husband had booked us into a beach resort for the next part of our stay but had we only stayed here i would not have been disappointed. It was lovely! If we return to the area I would definitely stay here again :)
The hotel is welll appointed with rooms attached and facing the pool. The rooms are clean and has a difuser which keeps it fresh.and sometimes mosquitoes away. It is commin on islands to have them around and having a difuser helps. Room service is prompt and swift, however praen cocktail was made a differently, which was interesting. Breakfast was included and had a premade eggs, ham and fried rice with few danish and juices around. Staff are quite friendly. Job was prompt to organise a taxi to go to Fisherman's Wharf, however a round trip organised by hotel could set you back 800B. There is a 7/11 closer however that is still a bit of walk. This place is like to get in amd relax your day swimming, relaxing and then having dinner insite. Job, the manager was quite friendly and informative. One funny thing about the hotel is there are no phones in the room, so if you wish to order food, you need to walk to the reception. Pics are there for your review. Steam room was.out of order.
The room is a little old. Needs maintenance. The air-conditioner was leaking. Otherwise, it is a spacious room with a large toilet, a kitchenette, a living area, the bed and a large balcony. Very Balinese design with the front facing the pool and the balcony facing the forest. Other rooms are other way round. Location wise, is a bit far from everything. Rent a scooter, they help. The Pilipino guy running the place, "JOB" was an excellent host. Ok ok cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kitchen close early. Great pool, secluded property, good for honeymooners. Notice a lot of Muay Thai trainees staying there too. Standard Amenities; kettle, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, intermittent Wifi (maybe because my room was far from the reception).
We had a lovely stay at this hotel with a large, clean room, lovely staff and nice pool. The only point worth noting is that it is slightly out of town, but this means it is quiet and there are plenty of taxis or scooter hires available if need be - for us our whole party stayed near by so was never an issue. Great hotel for a cheap holiday :)
Traveled last March 2017 with my Husband, and truly this quaint hotel exceeded my expectation. The hospitality was truly the warmest and funniest I have experienced. (Be there and look for Job) so you will see what I mean, indeed warm and highly detailed in delivering our needs. The room is larger than I have imagined, plus with the magnificent ocean view during the day time, and the reflection of the moonlight at night was like an everyday postcard picture moment. I am amazed with their pool as it remained warm and the Jacuzzi spoiled us with non-stop bubbly massage. The Breakfast Buffet was nice, however, there are some days that you may also have Ala Carte Options. Many Thanks also to Shiela who have a very wonderful host as well, Couldn't wait to be back and experience such fabulous holiday. More power guys!
Spend a month with my mum and baby in Koh Samui. The staff really looked after us especially my mum and baby during my time away doing a course. Despite languagr difficulty the staff managed to help us on every front. Occassionally when am running out of time for grocery shopping or needs cash exchange the hotel manager would take me on his bike and give me a ride to the closest town city free of charge. The hotel is not one of high end ones however it really served its customers well. The pool is fantastic good size nice and clean i even took my six months baby to swim most of the days.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Job - please pass my thanks to all your staff for their hard work and kindness!!
I am currently staying here now, I originally booked for two nights but have extended my stay, the staff are amazing and truly helpful. "The manager even went to the shop for me to get a plug adaptor".the hotel is nicely situated between chomong and chaweng so rent a bike from the hotel and enjoy the island views. Highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to all the staff again.
...you will feel much better here. First of all; it's very cheap for what you get for 2.000 THB per night (pool view, ground floor, breakfast). Breakfast is useless, Nescafé is not a coffee and the rest is garbage so don't bother. Wifi is very very fast at 3mb/s. The location is not central Chaweng, but it's not far on the bike and there is no traffic - hence the address 99/99 - I would say it is closer to Chong Mon then Chaweng, or it's on its very border. Rooms are very spacious but it feels old (like grandma in Chiangmai apartment). Heavy woodenly furniture, a bit moldy and beaten up. The soap in the shower is non existent but hot water pressure is great. The bed sheets linen is washed yellow out and it felt somehow dump. Friendly staff cannot save this hotel of 55 rooms or so, only reconstructing and refurbishing can. It's very quiet here, occupancy probably at 10%, but that could be due to the extreme weather we just had here. Pool is awesome.
I find this hotel to be very weird situated. It is far away from Chaweng and Chomong beach. But they rent scooters... The room we had was a tropical one. Nothing special. interesting that in the room is a lot of furniture without making sense. The bed sheets and towels are very old and not white anymore, yellow is the color. There are no switch lights near the bed. The breakfast is kinda dumb... Eggs eggs and eggs again. There is a very nice pool inside the complex. The staff is very friendly and helpful!!! They are so polite and would help with everything. I do hope they upgrade the complex based on other suggestions.
