We stayed for 3 nights. In their official website we bought SPA, yoga, meditation package and it was so good that we didn't leave hotel.. we just did transfer from airport to hotel and back! It how amazing it was! Perfect place to stay with infant! Highly recommending!

One thing in advance: the resort is located on the hill and does not have an own beach. Everything was just perfect. The Mantra Samui Resort is a quite new resort with new equipment in the rooms as well as in the entire facility. Everywhere was perfectly clean. The management as well as the staff were extremely friendly, attentive and supportive. You will find a nice infinity pool next to the restaurant with a wonderful view. The restaurant serves great and delicious Thai as well as Western cuisines. There are also a very nice Gym and an indoor playground for the kids. You will also a lounge with various games (e.g. billiard, PlayStation 4, etc.) There is a free shuttle bus to the Main Streets (e.g. fishermen’s Valley) per hour between 11am an 10pm. We really enjoyed our stay (even in the rain season) and are absolutely confident to recommend the Mantra Samui Resort.

Great place to stay, views amazing, friendly staff, everything nice and clean, great food ( a little expensive) but yummy. Loads of facilities for kids and adults Wish we had stayed a couple more nights.

We stayed at this great resort twice The resort is located roughly 800 meters from the beach using birds eye measurement, but in reality it's almost a couple of km away if you drive (or should be silly enough to attempt to walk) up a hilly road. Now that you know, there's no reason to be surprised. The best way to get around if that's what you want is to make use of the free shuttle service to Fisherman's Village or Chaweng or to rent a scooter (see below). The main lobby is located on the lowest part of the hilly resort area (let's call it level A) and it's a beautiful wooden structure. From there you can walk (get some exercise) or opt for being driven in a golf cart. On "level B" there's another service desk but also a lounge with pool table and console (PS4). It's a great place where you can read or relax in very nice surroundings. On level B is also where Bantaan 5 is located. You'll also find the excellent gym on this level and I believe the play room for kids is right next to it. One level up (level C) is where the pool, spa and restaurant is located. It's truly gorgeous and the most stunning infinity pool I've seen in person. It's white/light grey marble and gives a fantastic reflection of the sun. Next to the pool is the bar/restaurant/breakfast area with full service. Up one flight of stairs is the entrance to the spa. The first part of our visit we spent on level D. It's in the entry level Wow Ocean View Room. The best view is from the higher floors obviously. It does require a short 60m walk down a quite short, but steep hill to go to the pool and breakfast area so if you're not comfortable with that it does require calling for a cart to get you there every time. The room is very nice. The view over the bay is really what sells it though. Upon entry there's room for luggage and three closets and then the bathroom. It is rather small with one sink and limited storage space for toiletries although there's a shelf underneath. The shower is fine, but there's no rainfall feature. In the main part of the room is the nice and comfortable bed, a two person couch on the right side, a glass table and small seat and on the left side a long table with Samsung TV. The TV allows for easy access to the USB so you can play movies from a hard drive. It also has some international channels in case you don't bring your own. The wifi is not strong or fast enough to support use of chromecast or streaming services. The balcony features two quite comfortable chairs and a small table. There's not total privacy on the balcony because the beams separating the balconies are angled, but we didn't have any issues with it. We spent the second part of our stay in the Love Ocean View Room and in my opinion the money is well spent. However, if you have issues with stairs it's not an option unless you choose the lower level rooms which don't have the same stunning views as the higher located ones. The door (which opens with keys, not key cards) opens to a larger and deeper balcony with two sun beds (like the ones next to the pool) and a small table. From the balcony, there's sliding doors to the room, which features a two person couch on the right with a glass table, a nice bed facing the TV located on a table along the left side wall. There's a fridge and small drawer with kettle and cups. In the back of the room is large bathroom with two separate sinks. On the right side is the toilet and on the left side the shower booth but with rainfall feature. I don't think any rooms feature a bathtub but I don't know for sure. Despite that, it's a really great bathroom. There's also more closet space with storage options for suitcases. Our room was on the highest level with views towards the bay and the pool area. It's stunning. The Pool: According to the website the pool is 10x20m. A smaller part (perhaps a quadrant) is designated for kids with shallow water. From the sunbeds there are 4-5 steps before you reach full depth of probably 1.10-1.20m depth. It's plenty to swim laps which is wonderful. There are no seats in the pool, but you can stand next to the bar in the water while enjoying your drinks. From the pool you can see the trees and area towards the beach and as infinity pool it offers spectacular views. What's great: -The pool is just stunning. It looks better than any other pool I saw on Samui. -Towel service by the pool. Always plenty of towels and of good quality. -The architecture of the resort. -The gym is excellent with all required workout stations and weights (could use a kettlebell or two, but what the heck). -The staff is friendly and helpful. We loved Nuch who works in the restaurant. She took extra good care of us when I was feeling under the weather. Also, Som in the spa was great. -Late afternoon complimentary yoga classes on top of the spa. -The total grounds are not as big as many other resorts in my experience so it feels rather intimate. -Scooter service. You can rent directly from the hotel and put the payments on your final bill, which is payable by credit card. -The spa was very good and the treatments were of high quality by skilled staff and priced reasonably. -Breakfast is served until 11.00, most other places end service at 10.00-10.30 and the extra half an hour actually makes a difference. What can be improved: -The infamous breakfast (heavily discussed on Tripadvisor); I actually ended up enjoying picking one menu item while still having a buffet of bread, croissants, fresh fruit etc. I understand that many expect a lavish buffet and for that reason alone it's worth considering. I also experienced several instances where the avocado was either missing or not up to standard on my favorite Norwegian. However, several dishes like the kimchi pancake and the vegetarian omelet are delicious. -There should be separate smoking areas where the silly smokers can only bother themselves with their disgusting habits. I don't want to lie in paradise while some idiot exposes me to secondhand smoke. Just make it smoking free. If you're offended by this you need to have your head examined. -One main weakness cannot be improved since it's structural. The sun is gone from the pool area around 4.45-5PM since the sun is behind the hills/mountains and the buildings above causes shade. Overall, I highly recommend Mantra and it's most likely that I'll stay here again despite the many great options around the island.

The Mantra Samui Resort was simply excellent. The hotel has free shurrle bus to the fishing village and Chaweng Night Martket.I love the infinity pool & SPA services, The staff were friendly and helpful, always wearing a welcome smile on their faces.

My partner and I stayed here in 2014 and had a great time. The hotel was very nice with spectacular views from the room and from the pool bar. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is defianatly the place!

After scouring through many properties and reviews, we decided the Mantra was the one. I really wanted to love this property. However, we started off to a rocky start. The property is up a steep hill (which we knew based on previous reviews). There was ample signage and we rented a car so that wasn’t that big of an issue. Additionally, the property offers an hourly shuttle to take you to chaweng and other areas of the island which is a plus for those who may not have access to a car/taxi. We opted for a “Family Room” because there were 3 of us. The rooms were clean and spacious however, extremely simple and lacked basics like a light switch near the bed for turning off the lights. The beds are also situated very low to the floor and they do not have a headboard. The highlight was the view in the AM and the shower/bathroom was great and I like the amenities offered. The breakfast although fresh, wasn’t what we expected. The fruit and bread were “all you can eat” however you had to choose from 1 of 9 entrees. The entrees offered were very small in portion size and I would have preferred more of a variety or buffet style. Also, me and my GF ordered the smoked salmon and avocado on toast was not ripe at all. The staff on duty seemed to disregard our concerns and proceeded to laugh at us while we were simply trying to enjoy our meal. The staff tried to recover after reading my GF’s review, but I wish the service was as good as they tried to make it once they learned of our discontentment. They offered us dinner (It’s worth noting that dinner was really good) and brought a bottle of sparkling wine to our room and the GM also paid us a visit at breakfast the following morning to apologize in person which was a nice touch. However, first impressions are everything. I am planning to visit Koh Samui in the next few months, unfortunately this will not be a place I will return to. If you’re looking for a quite getaway, with simple accommodations away from the hustle and bustle maybe this will work for you. In our case it just didn’t cut it.

Situated on the hill with beautiful views Mantra is well maintained, has excellent infinity pool, great varied set breakfast and warm and accommodating staff ( many of whom could be mentioned and thanked for their efforts to make the stay as relaxing and comfortable as it was). Excellent price for the facilities and comfort offered. Will try to get back and already recommended to few friends who plan to stay there soon!

Based on all the great reviews, I opted for this hotel for relaxation at the end of my birthday trip. Upon arrival , the gentleman at the reception was nice and welcoming. Once we arrived to our rooms, they were simple. They were mostly clean, as we found hair strand on our beds!! In both rooms. Housekeeper quickly came and replaced the sheet. She too was pleasant. This morning during breakfast, we were given the option to choose ONE entree of 9. Portions are small, so we are soooo disappointed that we felt that food was rationed this way. Though they have a buffet for fruits and breads, how much bread is one really supposed to eat? Also, the avocado served with our entree was not was rubbery and should not have been served. Upon asking the waitress to please replace the avocado, her response was "this is the way all the avocados are"....this added to my disappointed since again, the avocado/salmon toast was small and I was at least expecting it to be enjoyable. Needless to say the rest of our breakfast they kept on looking at our table and giggling. So uncomfortable... I am dreading the rest of my stay at this hotel. There are so many beautiful properties in this island, and I'm so so sad that I paid for this one. Good thing is, we rented a car and there are many hills but hotel has signs to clearly guide tourists. Which helped because we arrived late at night. They also have free shuttle to beach and city center. Other than that, I would Not recommend...may stay an additional night on the island and will search for ANYTHING other than this hotel.

Even Mantra is at the half of the mountain, it has good services which could send you directly to your room. From our room, swimming pool and the bar, the beach view is quite nice. The breakfast is half buffet - one main course with drinks and fruit buffet, and pineapple juice is highly recommended. What's more, durain is not allowed in the room, or you will face a big fine. Here is takeaway: Motor bike(COST: 300THB/D + 50THB gas) is the most convenient way to travel around the island: it may take 4 or 5 hours. You can drive to the south part where has really local market not so commercialized as the Central Mall.
